Prompt
The world has opened to new possibilities. Where once they thought they were alone, now they discovered creatures never before imagined.
How does your character react to the introduction of Kahikina to Tendaji? This prompt can be anything, a way to cope, a way to learn more, even the first time they meet the other race. The main focus is discover and evaluation of this new world

[ 1 / 7 ] Ondine was wandering away from the market, for once quiet and pensive as she pondered the news that had spread like wildfire across Tendaji. It seemed that their world once more was growing, well beyond their imagination. First, it was the yaeli, a tribe discovered when she was young and barely had any idea what it meant. Shortly after, the Elaria sprouted from the ground.
Then, great flying machines brought over the Belreans. That time, Ondine was starry eyed as she learned about new people and a new world.
Now, a ship had traveled across the sea to discover fish people.
The thought made her bark out a laugh, but now, she just thought about it. A peaceful race of scaled people, living underwater. Ondine found herself without any words and so she wandered deep in thought.

Eihari was on her way toward the market. Her sandal clad feet hitting the ground quickly. The hybrid girl had heard about the new people discovered and had grown curious. Today she'd barely managed to finish her chores before she left the house without her instrument. That was alright though, today she didn't think she'd get any practice in since her mind was elsewhere. Her curiosity had made her antsy and she was hoping to find someone to ask questions from. Or if she was lucky she could find someone who was telling stories about them! Moving through the crowd of people she did her best to avoid bumping into people. One person she accidentally hit with her shoulder and she turned her head to apologize, taking her eyes off what was in front of her. Thankfully one person moved to avoid colliding with her but that meant the person walking behind them was left to her mercy. Eihari collided with another body and squeaked, her arms going out and grabbing the person to keep from falling over. "S-sorry! I wasn't looking!" The girl was breathless from running but she still wore a grin as she apologized to Ondine.

[ 2 / 7 ] "Oi!" She said with a gasp, her eyes spinning to see who had her arm. If it was one of the boys, still sour from their last brawl, she'd start something right here in daylight. She had no shame.
Instead, she caught eyes with another hybrid girl, one that looked like an alkidike mixed with a matori?
Suddenly Ondine's scowl turned into a grin.
"Ello there, lass..." She said with a quick glance up and down to explore the unique markings on the girl, "No 'arm done, where were you goin' in such a rush."

It took her a minute to understand the thick accent of the person but when she did she returned the grin. "I'm going to hear stories of the new people that were found." Eihari couldn't help the excitement that she felt. Not only was it due to her curiosity but if she got enough information she could make a song. Or perhaps hear one that she could play. Maybe they brought over songs from the new land! It was all exciting. "Have you heard of them?" The girl stared at Ondine with wonder, her smile never leaving.

[ 3 / 7 ] Ondine allowed her arms to fall into a relaxed state, hooking her fingers into the tops of her pants and letting them fan out. If she had a wall, she'd lean back, further relaxing, but instead she simply shrugged her shoulders and tilted her head with the same bright grin. Her mind was distracted by the warrior hybrid as her amber eyes shimmered with thought.
"Yep." She said with a pop to the p, "Fish buggers, living under the sea."
She shook her head, before adding, "And they thought the Matori came from the sea...but not like these..."

Her face lit up when Ondine said 'yep.' Eihari was truly curious about the new race. Of course it might have everything to do with the fact that they were water based like the Matori, which was half of her heritage. Her smile grew wider as she heard more about them living under the sea. Under! The hybrid let out a short laugh and brought her hands together in front of her. "They sound amazing." It was true that it was thought that the Matori had come from the oceans but they couldn't live in the water. Not like these new people could. "That sounds amazing! Did they bring one back? Or have sketches?" Eihari was hoping to figure out what they looked like.

[ 4 / 7 ] Ondine watched the girl with the small grin on her cheeks, studying the hybrid with focus and taking in her unique looks. Wasn't often you found a hybrid from the bug-tribes, unless they were part shifter. Typically those hybrids tended to stay far away from Jauhar.
Her focus was broken with Eihari began to chirp along in excitement, and Ondine laughed outright at her.
"Breathe, lass." holding up her hands in surrender, she added, "Said I 'erd about em, not saw em."
Dropping her hands, she shrugged again, "Don' think they brought em back, but they said they had gills...and scales...".
Ondine felt foolish saying it out loud, but it was true, "Aint like any Matori, that's for sure."

When she was told to calm down she pressed her lips together with a slightly embarrassed expression. "Sorry." She couldn't help her excitement though. As Ondine told her that it was said the new race had gills and scales she went wide eyed all over again and looked like she might just start bouncing. "Actual gills?" That would explain how they lived under water. And she was right, that wasn't like a matorian at all. "Its really neat. I wish I could find a sketch of them." Maybe one day someone would be able to draw them and show the rest of the world what they looked like.

[ 5 / 7 ] "Mmmhmm" Ondine confirmed, nodding and scratching the side of her head as she looked at the girl once more, "Waterbreathers, that lot..." She said with a bit of awe in her own voice, "Can ye imagine?"
Laughing again at the thought, she shrugged a moment before adding, "Ta think people thouh' us Matori were waterbreathers..."
The girl was back on sketches, and Ondine narrowed her eyes a moment, "Why not draw em yerself? See if ye can picture them right?"

She giggled. It was true a good few had thought Matorians could breathe under water. Considering their ears and skin markings she supposed it wasn't that far of a stretch, though it definitely wasn't true. When it was mentioned that she should draw the new race she went slightly wide eyed. "W-What? But I can't draw.." Not only that but she wasn't even sure where to start as far as design. "Besides, even if I could.. how would I know if it was right?" She wouldn't be travelling for a while yet and when she did it might be a long time before she made it to where the underwater breathers lived.

[ 6 / 7 ] "Ye can always improve if ye put yer mind to it." Ondine said with a shrug, grinning a bit before adding, "Well, ye gotta go meet one!"
Laughing out loud at that point, she pointed to the hybrid before her, "Yer parents met each other by travelin', so ye might as well travel too. Get out there, see the world, meet some water folk."

She wasn't wrong there. Her parents had traveled and gotten to meet. So having her own travels would surely get her to meet others, even if not for romance. Eihari thought about being able to meet all the people that seemed so fascinating from a distance. The excitement that built up within her was almost bubbling over. "That's a good point. And.. and I can't learn new songs by staying in one place." What self respecting bard didn't travel the world and learn the songs of far off lands? Any uncertainty left her face rather quickly after that.
