Coming Together

Solo Format
Counts as 5 RP growth Points
Solo word minimum is 750

Prompt
The past five years have continued to meld and mesh the lands of Tendaji. Where once tribes kept to their own lands, many were now seeing their colorful neighbors on a regular basis. While the cultures still stand, a welcoming sense of curiosity and openness has resulted in a peace across the entire region.

What have you done these past five years? Have you explored? Have you welcomed others? What has your story been and how have you grown in this new future of Tendaji?

This solo-only prompt is for you to explore the growth of your character these past 5 years in relation to the cultures of Tendaji. You must walk us through how your character's impression of the other races has changed or evolved, and how they've grown as a result.

Suria had worked hard these past few years after her attack. She made an effort to look for the woman who saved her all those ages ago, and after a lot of hustle and a bit of a hunt, she finally met the woman again. The meeting was memorable, but not really one she was happy about. After all, the woman had decided that Suria was too green to take care of and train, and so she turned the young hybrid away with little care at the impact it would have.

Suria was angry, sure, but she understood that the woman had little use of a green child with no skills.

As a result, Suria decided she would train and grow and come back once more to prove herself to the woman. Thankfully, she found an opportunity in her three older siblings deciding to travel, and joined them on part of their journey through Oba and toward Jauhar.

Once she reached Jauhar, she waved them off with a sweet smile and stuck around the villages. Here, she made up her mind to try and find a new trainer in the form of the strong women of the Alkidike tribe. Many of the Shifters warned her not to stray too far into their territory, but also shared that some of the women had settlements near the area where they had Earthling lovers and even hybrid children.

Excited, Suria spent a few months traveling and meeting these women, hearing their stories and getting advice on how she could become a stronger fighter. Many were skeptical of the petite girl being a fighter, for she was indeed small and had little muscle, but they all agreed if she used weapons suited to her own style, she could make a name of herself yet.

It was all Suria needed to take action and move forward with her plan.

It was by pure luck that she ran into Dianthus and Craytis, an Alkidike and Yaeli couple who had a young hybrid son. Suria was able to easily connect with Craytis thanks to her father's history as a beast tamer, and persuaded Dianthus to become a sort of mentor. She spent a few months with them, building up her strength and learning how to fight someone much bigger than her size. She also took breaks to play with Crocus, the hybrid son who reminded her a bit of her sister back home.

The lessons she learned were honest and true - she was small, couldn't easily wield the standard Alkidike weapons and therefore had to work hard to defend herself from the spears and blades. Learning how to fight a bigger person meant she had to become stronger, and Dianthus had little patience to coddle the girl when she made mistakes. Suria often was covered in dirt and cuts by the end of their bouts, but couldn't ignore the satisfaction of sore muscles growing stronger each and every time they fought.

However, Crocus was soon required to fight too, and Suria knew she had begun to overstay her welcome. With promises to visit whenever she had a chance, Suria began to return Jauhar and make her way back toward Oba with a passing caravan.

She had grown stronger, more determined, and more strategic thanks to her studies with Dianthus, but still she needed true training by a blademaster who could teach her the best ways to strike with two daggers. Suria didn't want to go to her father, knowing she wasn't the type to join an army or fight fair. Her mother wasn't one to do much than teach her to dance with blades...which might be a nice cover in the long run but not a priority in the short term.

No, with the word changing Suria needed to change too. She needed to be strong, because mixed cultures meant confusion, danger, and a need to protect herself. She would find the woman who saved her life those years ago, show her how much she had grown, and prove that she was ready to join them and develop the skills and knowledge to survive on the streets.

It was a matter of pride, of self worth, of determination that drove Suria to obsession to accomplish her goals. She would be the best person she could be, she would use the best trainers, and she would do it all on her own. There was no other option, she had to do this herself or she wouldn't do it at all.
