Coming Together

Solo Format
Counts as 5 RP growth Points
Solo word minimum is 750

Prompt
The past five years have continued to meld and mesh the lands of Tendaji. Where once tribes kept to their own lands, many were now seeing their colorful neighbors on a regular basis. While the cultures still stand, a welcoming sense of curiosity and openness has resulted in a peace across the entire region.

What have you done these past five years? Have you explored? Have you welcomed others? What has your story been and how have you grown in this new future of Tendaji?

This solo-only prompt is for you to explore the growth of your character these past 5 years in relation to the cultures of Tendaji. You must walk us through how your character's impression of the other races has changed or evolved, and how they've grown as a result.

Taliessin stood outside of the Violet Strumaria, her yaeli-colored eyes looking out across the area. Here skin was dark, it always was dark unlike her father's who became bright as the moon when the sun went down. Instead, she had dark skin and her mother's hair. Taliessin was a bit envious of her sister, who got her father's white hair - it just reminded her that she wouldn't look like her father when the moon came out.

But she loved Arianum, the two were close as any young sisters would be. Although they lived in a land once riddled with war, the two siblings had no clue of the dark past. Instead, they lived surrounded by music, dancing, laughter and love.

Sometimes, when Taliessin was sneaking down after her bedtime for a drink or a snack, she would look through the curtains to watch the dancers of the Violet Strumaria, the listen to the music and the voices. She ignored the patrons, mostly matori, instead happy to watch her favorites perform.

Most were younger than her mother, still learning and trying new techniques. They were beautiful in their own way, excited and interested in growing and developing. Hybrids from around the world who were training to transition to the Red or somewhere else. Maybe traveling and looking to earn a bit of coin working. Either way, they had stories and were beautiful.

Taliessin had no idea she was raised in a world so welcoming of others. Her mother's goal was to make everyone safe, especially those Yaeli who hid in the dark corners of their home, spaces separate from the noise where they could think to themselves. Tali thought they were in time out, but her mother explained they needed the silence to grow comfortable with the world.

She didn't understand, but when her father shared they were helping, Tali nodded and was proud.

Eventually, she was old enough to spend time with a 'sitter' or one of the dancers who loved to watch the girls and tell stories. The dancer was young, often didn't work too hard and was there to learn more than anything else. He was pretty, like a doll or statue, and was from across the sea where they had great mechanical machines and magical weapons that exploded from tubes.

He told stories of the world he saw as he traveled, his grin easy and his encouragement open. He encouraged Taliessen to dream, to sketch her dreams and communicate them out. He helped her learn how to express herself through movement, much like any dancer, though she often did it quite literally compared to the figurative dance of the others. But when she was done, they all cheered and supported her, and she was happy.

As she grew, she saw the world for what it was...a little strange, a little secluded, but full of color and life. She had no idea what the past was, the scars of the land because she was still so young. Her eyes were bright and she loved the hybrids around her, the colors and the love that spread around her house like a veil. There was nothing else, no sign or stress that got through because she was a child and she was safe. Safe and protected by a loving father, a strict but creative mother, a sister to share secrets and grow together. And a large family of young, excitable, entertainers.

As she would grow older, there was a risk she'd eventually discover the darker side of things. The hatred that lingered in the older Obans, or the shadow that lied in the corners of Yael. She was different, unique in the world still trying to find itself, but not as unique as many would think. Fire and Water hybrids were plenty on the border, and more came out of different mixes.

The world was a beautiful mix of color, personality, and energy, at least the world Taliessin knew. She was happy to be part of it, loved being part of it, but didn't realize just how lucky she had it.

Others lived in bubbles, where they missed on the cultures of the world. Tali and her family lived in a role where the culture was important. The Violet Strumaria was meant to showcase cultures for all to see, to celebrate and embrace. It was lucky she had a chance to live in that world, because it meant she could continue to thrive in it for years to come. To be herself, to celebrate herself, and to embrace others. And that's just how she wanted it.
