Flying to a foreign land via some creaking contraption with a bunch of strangers over the great ocean full of dangerous beasts had never been on his itinerary before. Yet due to the precarious situation of his aunt's company Yunan found himself guiding his trunks from the steamship and towards the ground. Thankfully some riftraft who had hitched a ride on the ship needed some spare coin so it was nothing more than a slight hassle for him to disembark. Finally he found some relief as the reek of sweat and noxious gas from the contraption cleared with the fresh air of the new continent. As he passed through the crowds awaiting loved ones and found cobbled streets rather than air Yunan had to appreciate the view. Tall buildlings with bricked streets were something he didn't see much of in the scrawny villages of Matori and the masses of snow kept much of Zena's architecture hidden from the first glance. However, Belrea was full of it with their arches and the windows...was that stained glass in the one building? Slightly impressive. The corner of his lip curled up in the faintest hint of awe before being pushed away by the look of disdain as he had to once again direct one of the boys to carry his luggage properly.

As he found himself checking into a room at one of the finer inns the man took a moment to open his windows and enjoy the wafting smells of perfume mingled with the food of the nearby market. Faint sounds of chatter came from below and he leaned on his elbows against the window frame to observe. This would be a place to explore definitely and he hoped that he could use his skills to recover some profit by achieving the partnerships for his aunt's business that she so desired with these Belreans.

But it would be rather uneventful to simply linger in his rooms, correct? Perhaps a walk to the lower areas towards entertainment would find some success. With that decided the hybrid shoved his trunks to a corner of the room, tucked the brass keys to said room into his sash and after fixing his fresh clothing and making certain he had some fragrant oils in his hair the boy slipped away. He refused to look a sham when his goal was to come overseas for profits - something simply not achieved by looking like a pauper. Now the question for the day was what did one do exactly in Belrea? Some spoke of entertainment areas while others spoke of cafes and boat rides in the canals. Yunan's lips pressed flatly together as he walked along.

To say that Nyko was unaccustomed to a Belrean Autumn would have been a gross understatement.

As a man born and bred in the south, any abrupt drop in temperature was a guaranteed cause for concern. Were it not for his benefactor’s foresight Nyko would be likely be exposed to the elements as he jaunted about the grand capital, scrambling with others of his kind in search of a coat; those foreigners who, despite the allure of adventure, had bothered little to learn of Belrea’s climate. He knew nothing would compare to the warmth he’d known in Oba, nor the crisp comforts of Matori, but the sudden shift was what unsettled him most. At any given moment Nyko would shed his layers to cool off, and just as quickly, snatch them up to warm his bones. It seemed that so long as he stayed in the sun’s good graces that he was fine, while any patch of shade was quickly made into an enemy.

Thessia was quick to assimilate; she always had been. She was the first of the pair to gather friends, a sense of direction in the sprawling metropolis, and any sense of belonging.

Nyko...had his moments.

While on stage he was a radiant ball of ethereal energy, projecting his very soul through the theatre itself and out into the streets. The name ‘Nicosia’ was quickly gathering a following among the Belrean elite, and it was clear that Golden Gilly had snatched talent itself from Tendaji, or so the rumors said. Painters had slathered his likeness on as many posters as his benefactor could afford, and while his performances were still small, precursors, really, for larger acts, hopefuls gathered each night hoping to catch a sight of Gilly’s newest pet project.

Never in his life had he been held in such high regard, or treated with such adoration. Every meal was prepared for him, all of his clothing bought new and specifically tailored to fit, and it was all so….utterly overwhelming.

Some days, like today, were spent alone. Thessia wouldn’t understand; she’d proven that much. He’d tried to talk to her about his feelings, those little pricks he could barely figure out on his own, only to have her shut him out. Wasn’t he grateful? Why wasn’t he happy? This was all he ever wanted so what was the problem now?

”It’s always something with you, isn’t it? Can’t you just be happy? That’s all you have to do; just smile and sing. Can’t you manage that much?”

Inevitably her terse words had provoked some rather nasty, coarse language out of him, and now...now Nyko was walking the streets trying to catch a break. The act in itself proved more challenging than expected; not only was he a rising star in the entertainment industry, but more obviously, his appearance didn’t blend with the locals.

Normally Yunan would assume that food carts were beneath him, but the allure of the steamed buns on an empty stomach was far too tempting. I suppose this could be considered an educational experience. He was here to learn more about this country after all. Perhaps eating some of their food, even the simplest street versions, could enlighten him about the culture. It would still be a few hours until dinner and his early arrival gave him the benefit of a few days of leisure before settling into business meetings.

He just hoped his aunt's connections weren't a false hope. The hybrid pursed his lips before flicking a coin at the gaein girl and taking a steamed bun from her stall. It vaguely reminded him of something from the Oban city yet the bun was more like bread and less like the dumplings he adored. I suppose the flavor is acceptable. Fresh food, a nice chill breeze to remind him of Zena and the gurgling sounds of a nearby fountain painted a decidedly nice afternoon for Yunan.

It was a shame that someone had to ruin it. Sneering the hybrid glanced down towards the street. Had someone caused a ruckus? A few Belreans had jostled past him while murmuring something about a singer and an argument. Yunan was about to shrug off the gossip before a hint of blue caught his attention. Was there someone else from Tendaji here? Brow rising in the slightest interest he turned on his heel and started forward to get a better look at a figure who seemed to be rather intent on getting away from the main streets. Normally Yunan would just forget about it and move on but something seemed to be nagging at him. Why did that figure seem so familiar? In the back of his mind an image stirred but he couldn't quite place why he would recognize it. It was almost as if it was from a picture he had seen upon entry to Belrea but in the moment he couldn't quite place it - not until he got a better look at the Matorian now walking his way.

If this was what it meant to be a celebrity then Nyko wasn’t sure he could handle it. The smiling and being utterly adored part, yes, that came naturally, but having to take a step back every time a local got too close was new. They just kept coming. A gaggle of overly excited hens had spotted him, cornered the poor man, and refused to shut up long enough for him to even try denying that it was him on the posters they kept shoving in his face.

Screams and chants he could handle. There was little he loved more than having a full auditorium standing in utter adoration for one of his performances, but this? This he hated. Gods above, it might have even been tolerable if the beast upfront didn’t have a unibrow. Who told her it was okay to go outside looking like that? He couldn’t take his eyes off it!

“Okay, okay, it’s me! Not like it matters, I don’t even have a quill so how do you expect me to sign any-”

“I’VE GOT ONE!”

Of course she did. Every time that poor girl talked that strip of hair wriggled like a nasty little worm and he just wanted to pluck it all out.

“That’s...lovely, really, but crazy thing, I can’t write so I’m just going to go now-” Nyko tried to dart away, only to find his back against a literal wall. His hands felt around the stone in a desperate bid to find some niche, but alas there was none. In a last ditch effort the Matorian looked over their heads to the surrounding area, hoping to find something to use as a diversion, and what he found gave him a terribly brilliant idea.

How could he miss that blue skin? Poor chump was about as subtly placed as Nyko himself which made him a great target. “LADIES, LOOK OVER THERE! Gilly’s newest apprentice, fresh off the airship!” Nyko gestured wildly towards the other young man, encouraging his ‘fans’ to turn their predatory gaze on another. “I bet if you sweet talk him just the right way he’ll even give you a little taste of his talent, right here in the street!”

“Really?” It was almost too good to be true; they wasted no time at all in turning away from Nyko to gang rush the sap. And as soon as their eyes were turned the other way….Nyko ran.

Oh for fuc- This guy was some sort of Belrean celebrity? Yunan's golden gaze caught sight of one of the many posters that sported the other man's features and he grimaced. This had been a goose chase after someone he didn't even know. It was just some sort of performer and like others he had been baited by the familiarity that horde of posters gave him. A complete waste of time, really. He had almost been about to turn on his heel and go back towards the inn where he was staying when the stranger yelled. Gilly's newest apprentice....oh no. Realization preluded a string of rather imaginative curses under his breath when the adoring mob turned their attention onto him.

That little slippery b*****d is just running away now, isn't he? Yunan held back a groan as the Matorian turned tail and ran. He could only assume the performer had quite the experience with slipping away from the crowds by now. Probably some rift raft from Matori who managed to gain someone's attention here. Was Belrea that entranced by performers? Yunan's thoughts were halted by the flurry of questions as the crowd reached him.

"Ah, actually!" He held out his hands apologetically, the typically stern expression softened into feigned ignorance, "Big mistake! We look similar so it happens! I'm just a guard off duty but if you go right down the street to that lovely café I left Tallim there. Great performer, new apprentice really willing to show you what he's got!" Soft protests and attempts at what he assumed they believed to be adorable expressions surrounded him. It was disgusting really but he just had to grit his teeth and hold his ground. If he ran like that little s**t from earlier it would only make him look guilty.

However, the protests quickly were cut short as his hand travelled down to the sword that was hanging at his side. A little flick of the wrist along with a beam of sunlight and the crowd easily saw the flash of metal. Would a performer who sang have a weapon instead of an instrument? Yunan directed the crowd once again down the way where they could try to find the nonexistent Tallim. As they realized that the one performer was gone they began to migrate in the random direction that Yunan had chosen and the hybrid quickly took the opportunity to slip away before anyone enlightened the mob about the reality.

He could go back to his room at the inn, but it would be far more satisfying to track down some sly b*****d who thought leaving him with a mob was a hoot. Would it be a waste of time? Yes. Would he try to get something out of this? Maybe. Did he know exactly what yet? No, but he was determined and with his lips pressed into a tight line he began to briskly walk off in the direction that the other Matorian left in.

Escaping sticky situations was becoming second nature to Nyko. He nimbly slipped between passerbys, easily ducked behind vendor carts, and dipped into the sketchiest alleyway he could find. History had taught him that anything nicer would invite questions, and he’d been snooped out one too many times to chance it again. Then again, those were back in the days where every meal he had in Belrea was stolen so maybe excitable teens weren’t nearly as smart as armed guards. Not like it mattered; he was already here so Nyko may as well make the best of it. Looking around he spotted stacks upon stacks of weather worn, abandoned wood as well as building stones and countless stones. It looked less like an alleyway and more like a scrap yard, which proved all the more fortuitous.

Carefully, Nyko returned to the mouth of the alley and looked out, satisfied only when he couldn’t see anyone running his way. He hurriedly ducked back in to turn his full attention to the stack. The matorian started picking his way to the top, carefully climbing as fast as he could given the circumstances. It may have been over kill, but something told him to run. If he’d been able to climb onto the rooftops from here he may have been tempted, but for now he would settle for hiding on the other side of the pile. If he just stayed there til the sun went down surely that would be good enough. You’re overthinking this, anyway.

The only places anyone could see him would be from above, and really, who would go through all that trouble? Nyko settled back onto one of the old boards and gave a half laugh. Later tonight he’d have a good story to tell Thessia over supper, and that would be that.

If Yunan's early life in Zena taught him anything it was that you sometimes have to go through hell to get what you want. Despite the jewels and silks the blood of the hunters ran through his body and the hybrid was not one to give up easily. Just how hard would it be to find someone else that was blue in this field of orange, greens and browns? Yunan grit his teeth in frustration. More than anything he hated anyone, especially some urchin from Matori, getting away with pulling some stupid stunt on him.

He had mustered the patience just enough times to get a vague sense of directions about where a blue foreigner had disappeared towards, but now it was looking more and more like a dead end. Would some songbird really want to go into this area of the city? I suppose some habits don't leave a person despite their relocation. If only he had some better type of vantage point so that he could actually see in all of these alleys. It was like one of those frustrating hedge mazes that he had witnessed in the noble's garden back in Oba. He had sang praises that day to get the old lady's vanity a boost but in reality he had sneered at the wastefulness. What would one do in such a trap? Her husband probably used it to get his feel of mistresses while she probably couldn't get past the first fork in the hedges. It was just another fool using another fool to get away with frivolous pleasures. Damn the rich for inheriting their fortunes and wasting it all away with their stupidity.

Of course when Yunan offered the noblewoman a ride on a chiavi for the first time it had all been too easy to spot where her husband was in the gardens. A fighting couple was all too easy for making deals with as long as you supported them individually in secret. Thinking of flying overhead had given Yunan some inspiration. Tilting his head thoughtfully he glanced towards where a giant tree grew towards a slightly sloping rooftop. Ah. If the Matorian was going to act like some street urchin then Yunan could rise above that and hunt him down.

While Matori and Oba taught him that a golden tongue did wonders for profit the harsher country of Zena had taught him to not be afraid of getting his own hands dirty for certain jobs. Any other day he would have chosen to turn around and go back out of sheer boredom and respect for his own image, but here in a foreign slum where no one would recognize him? Time to have some fun. A lone bucket set to collect rain water was by the edge of the building and as an afterthought Yunan grabbed it. It was petty, but he was in a petty mood today. Coming to this foreign land when he was trying to rise in Oba had irritated him beyond all belief and to have grubby hands reaching for him because someone painted him as an entertainer had pushed the young man's patience.

The one good thing about being above on the rooftops is that no one thought to look up usually. His feet were light on the tiles as he climbed up and crossed over. A hint of blue against so much brown. Yunan halted and took a second glance towards what looked like a pile of discarded materials. If that was mostly wood and stone....would Belrea have something so blue there? Faint amusement crossed his features as he crouched and slowly moved closer from above. Why was the entertainer even hiding here? Did the crazy fan club give him so little choice or was it...guilt that he had attracted their desperate attention to someone new?

Guilt or fear? Just thinking that someone could be frightened of him and hiding behind such a disgusting pile of things made Yunan's ears thrum with excitement. For the slightest of moments his typical restraint was gone and the pure enjoyment of a predator gleamed in those golden eyes. I wonder how dedicated this one is to his hiding spot. He thought of the bucket that he had grabbed on the way upwards and with a flick of his wrist the water sloshed in the wooden depths, a collection from last night's rain showers.

Aiming it just so Yunan twisted the bucket and let it sail towards the pile where it promptly landed upside down with a loud splash. A hand resting on his blade the hybrid made certain to be crouched on the roof and prepared to move at any moment depending on the reaction of the other young man.

Nyko had thought his hiding place a sanctuary, but he couldn’t have been more wrong.

With a high pitched shriek, the performer jolted up, almost tripping over a bucket of rusted bolts. His hair, so normally fluffed and curled, fell in one thick mass over his eyes. His clothes were ruined, and that water was freezing. It wasn’t even raining so why - or who....The sudden realization made Nyko look skyward, squinting his eyes against the sun, for anyone who might have tossed the water onto him. What kind of p***k did something like that in the middle of a Belrean autumn?!

He couldn’t see anyone from this angle which further served to irritate him. Nyko knew someone had to have done it, and he had a sinking suspicion as to who, but he just couldn’t prove it.

Pissed and determined now, the Matorian picked his way back to the top of the pile, balanced himself on a few of the boards, and searched for the perfect ‘weapon’. What he found was a wad of mud clinging to a few stones. It wasn’t much, but the weather had chilled it just enough that he could pack it tight, and with just the right aim, Nyko tossed it up onto the roof. With any luck it would land on someone, but he didn’t care how it looked. Any Belrean passing on the street would just see a wet foreigner standing on a pile of debris screaming obscenities at a roof, and that was just fine with him.

It seemed that Yunan had found the songbird after all and boy did the Matorian sing. His lips curled upwards ever so slightly in the faintest hint of a grin before he started to calculate his way down towards the ground. Unlike the other young man Yunan was not afraid to reveal himself. He would never hide from the consequences of his actions. However, he was not expecting was the songbird to start doing more than throwing a hissy fit over the wet clothing. When the frozen mud ball came sailing through the air towards his face Yunan barely got his arm up in time to stop it from smacking into his forehead.

The impact actually stung and his gaze narrowed as he realized that his jacket sleeve was now ruined by mud. It would leave a bruise perhaps but at least it was only on his arm and not his face. It was his face that was more important for tomorrow. Would they miss some foreigner if he went away? The thought was quickly placed aside. Foreign country or not the songbird had his mug on posters throughout the city and it would not do his business plans any good to have murder on his hands this early in the game.

Nor would it do good for him if Belreans started to gossip about the crazy Matori who was screaming at the roof. Of course I can't enjoy something, even if it is this amusing, for too long. No wonder he's a performer with that voice projection. Yunan rolled his eyes at the skies before managing to leap from the lower end of the roof and onto the ground. The impact sent a bit of a shock through his body but it was not anything unusual. He had jumped from heights before and the adrenaline of the situation gave him resolve.

"I see you definitely care about your image." Yunan attempted to wipe off the mud from his sleeve as he quipped towards the rampaging Matori, "Do you scream at roofs often like its bloody murder?" Oh he damn well knew why the other man was screaming obscenities but the casual attitude was perfect if anyone was passing by.

After all there were no witnesses to see exactly how the other Matori got soaking wet. All they would see is a very angry young man who was just screaming at a now empty rooftop. Truly a sign of insanity if Yunan ever saw one. That or perhaps an exhausted performer who had one too many drinks. The smell of alcohol could be quickly dashed onto that wet clothing with the silver flask hidden under the sash wrapped around Yunan's slim waist. You never knew when you would need a good solid drink after all.

Seeing exactly where the mud had landed gave Nyko a surge of pride. He stood a little straighter, with a s*** eating grin and an undeniably cocky stance. What he’d hoped for was a muddied coat, which he got, but this…this was so much sweeter.

“I could say the same about you.” The other was trying to play it off, but Nyko had experience dealing with colder clientele. He’d gotten under this guy’s skin, which gave him just enough confidence to push it further. If he’d been smarter he would have stopped there, found some way to dip, and headed home.

Nyko was not a smart man.

“Really, you should be thanking me. I gave people something other than that pig’s snout to look at.” He could have commented on those stupidly long ears, which obviously belonged to some kind of mixed breeding, but it didn’t feel right. As vindictive as Nyko was he didn’t typically go for birth defects.

“Why did you chase me, anyway? Someone like you should be happy to have the attention, or would you prefer an angry mob? Someone coming at you with a pair of scissors for those ears?” Ah, well, it was ‘nice’ while it lasted. As the performer spoke he gradually stepped down from his vantage point and moved in closer, empowered by his taunts.

Yunan just raised a slight brow at the retort from the Matori. Was this truly the level of insult that the songbird could achieve? What an impressive man. He was already regretting his decision to chase after the wet mess standing in front of him. If it hadn't been for his petty mood the hybrid could have simply walked away, but instead here he was. Even if it was petty the revenge he had wrought had felt ever so sweet in the heat of the moment.

The more the Matori prattled on the more Yunan was thankful that he had dumped the bucket of water on his head. The songbird, or rather prissy child, seemed to be talented in spewing hot air more than anything else, "Are you always so fixated on vanity?" He replied quietly, an attempt to keep the anger from stirring in his chest. A weak attempt, but one nonetheless.

However, the more and more the other man spoke the more Yunan found himself pressing forward. As the Matori rose to the challenge so did Yunan and with a quick movement he reached out as if to grab the man's collar before movement down the way caught his attention. Oh by the gods. Cursing silently at his ill luck Yunan began to recognize the garb of those in the security sector. The last thing he needed was a night locked up because he got into a spat with some stupid, vain, sharp-tongue p***k.

His fingers tightened into a fist at his side until finally a decision was made. Without a moment to waste he reached into his sash and flicked open the flask and flung it at the Matori. Hoping the surprise was enough to silence the other man Yunan moved closer and with a sharp jab smacked a pressure point that would surely cause the Matori to slump over his shoulder like a passed out drunk. Surely that would be easy enough to explain. Two foreigners just learning about Belrea while his buddy had a bit too much fun out on the streets tonight. Sorry officers I'll just take him back to our room. Care to point the way? Easy enough.

“Shouldn’t I be?” In a profession such as his there was no excuse for looking like a gremlin. He needed to be perfect day in and day out, which was something he prided himself on. Of course he’d always been vain, even when he was dirt poor, but that was neither here nor there. Looks could tell a lot about a person; about where they were from, how much coin they had, if they were a traveller or not….and the more he looked at this stranger the more he got the distinct impression he wasn’t here for good. Nyko’s own garb had taken on a Belrean flare, but this guy still reeked of Tendaji.

For a moment he was caught off guard. He wasn’t expecting the other to reach out for him, but instantly Nyko’s defensive instincts kicked in. From his angle he couldn’t see anyone at the other end of the alley, thus he couldn’t see any potential issues outside of this man. He raised his fist, ready to slug the p***k but instead found himself taking a half step back out of surprise. He sputtered, moving his hands up to flick off the...alcohol?! “You hit me wit-?!” All at once, the matorian went down, his tall frame folding over the other man’s should like a sack of wheat.

One of the officers was curious enough to step halfway down the alleyway. She held up a lantern, newly lit due to the darkening hour, and squinted their way, “Are you sure you’ve got him?” She sounded suspicious, at best, and extra curious. It wasn’t often you saw travellers, let alone folk who didn’t exactly...blend in.

"Oh buddy. You really should have laid off all that food." Yunan commented loudly as he shifted his weight to support Nyko's limp body, "Oh?" Blinking ever so innocently, Yunan nodded towards the officer, "It's embarrassing to admit but I've gotten quite used to carrying this extra weight." The young man flashed an amused if not slightly exasperated smile, "My friend likes to have a bit too much fun drinking while we're traveling. I'm so sorry to concern you but he's such a light weight when it comes to these things." Yunan shifted the body as he took a few steps closer to the officer so she could smell the alcohol. Yunan's pose was natural, his gaze didn't falter and he seemed rather comfortable if not familiar supporting his "friend" against his shoulder, "I hope it's no trouble to you officer but could you point me towards the Ivory Rose? I want to get him back to his bed." Easy enough if anyone asked at the inn. After all it was the closet to the airship docks so several Tendajians came and went from that place, including some Matori even today. In the fading light of dusk who would even be able to get a good view at the face? Thankfully the song bird's head was down and pressed firmly into Yunan's shoulder with his hair hiding most of his features.

A short conversation later and Yunan found himself at the inn. Just in case anyone was still watching the man waited a few good moments, even feigning going inside of the doorway, before turning the corner and going up the street towards the finer establishment known as the Ruby Crown. He found the name a bit distasteful, almost like some harlots should be wandering its halls, but the service and finery of the rooms could not be ignored. Here you tossed some coin and they could easily forget who you were while also bringing up some fine wine and fresh blankets. The type of service I enjoy. As long as he had coin then he could protect himself for the most part. Who would come along here to ruin his business?

But now he had to joy of deciding what to do with the body. Yunan grimaced as he shifted the body. This is why I had to order new blankets. His lips pressed into a fine line of annoyance before he tossed the other man's body on a chaise in the front room, "Dirty clothes everywhere. Lovely." One of the workers he had given coin knocked at the door and came warily into the room. Tendaji strangers were one thing but this one had some sort of intimidating if not authoritative aura about him. Was he a noble from across the seas?

Recognizing the curiosity on the girl's face, Yunan quickly shrugged off his outer layer of clothing, "My friend and I took a bit of a stumble while exploring town. Please help get him out of those dirty clothes and leave the extra blankets here." He would give her extra for her trouble and hopefully for her silence. Thankfully it was just mud that decorated their clothing and some alcohol. Having no blood on his clothing or blade made the situation fairly easier to deal with.

Yunan watched as the worker took care of the dirty clothing and left the songbird in a clean robe. She hadn't stripped the Matori completely, no she was far too shy for that, but Yunan had helped and instructed her to take off anything wet and muddy so it left bare minimum clothing, "Thank you." Yunan handed her a few coins, "Please take the dirty clothing and either clean it or dispose of it elsewhere. I appreciate your help and your silence. He doesn't need gossip after having such a hard night." He would let her spin the story. Maybe the songbird had an unrequited love or was homesick for the other continent, who knew?

All Yunan knew was that the man lying in the other bed appeared to be quite popular with the Belreans. That crowd earlier had attested to the fact. Thoughtfully the hybrid stared at the songbird, "Maybe I should be able to use this fateful meeting after all." If he was to run business here and start a pharmacy for his aunt...then perhaps it would be easier to attract sponsors and a crowd to the opening of the store with something like this. He would think on this and deal with the songbird when he woke up. Taking a string of delicate bells from his belongings, Yunan tied them to the man's ankle like some sort of fine accessory.

That should suffice.

Not like he expected to sleep tonight. Yunan tugged at the sleeves of his own robe before tossing it in favor for fresh silks that shimmered in the lamp light like turquoise scales. It was dark outside, night had fallen over the town, and Yunan had made certain to close the ivory curtains against the great windows overlooking the street below. The windows were locked with brass clasps and a heavy desk of fine, dark wood was sitting before the windows. Carrying the oil lamp to the desk, he sat down and studied a pile of papers. He could plan out things while waiting on his guest to wake up. If he did happen to doze off at least the bells would serve as warning. A chain was pulled against his door and the lock to the room was still resting against his waist, tied there by a golden embroidered sash.(edited)

Thankfully the suite was large enough to give him some space from the Matori who rested in the bed against the opposite wall. Other than that everything was simple enough in the room. A wardrobe, the desk he set at, the bed with the Matori, and a small basin to wash your face. Adjacent to that was a sitting room with a small table with chairs, a chaise and his travel trunks. The door to the outside hallway was located in the sitting room while the bedroom only had the closed windows with slim hope for escape. Now all he had to do was wait and see what would happen next.

Nyko was slow to wake. His senses weren’t with him as the Matorian stretched to the right, slowly rolling over onto his stomach. For a moment he burrowed his face into the pillow, willing his body back into slumber with little success. Something was off, but he couldn’t be bothered to find out what. With little choice, Nyko pressed the flats of his palms into the bed and pushed up, rising half up with a yawn. His head and neck ached, a result of sleeping in a bad position? Gently he rotated to sitting up in the bed and rubbed the affected area. It almost felt like he’d been hit with something, but that couldn’t be right; who would want to hit him?

Barely awake as he was Nyko took stock of the room. It didn’t seem right that there were two beds, but that didn’t bother him as much as what he saw in the other bed. “Thessia,” He murmured. When the body didn’t respond he made a disgruntled noise, then slipped off the bed. Why was she so far away? And what was with the bells? He could hear them when he moved, but Nyko couldn’t figure out where they were coming from. Was it...was it a sign? His fiancee usually only slept so far away after they fought, and that was upsetting to his sleep fogged brain.

And this...this stupid robe…it was the last time he let her pick out clothes for him. Nyko’s clumsy hands picked at the ties until they fell away, and much like the robe, he sloppily stripped down completely before stumbling his way over to the other bed. It wasn’t difficult to find the blankets edge, and experienced as he was, the tired bard slipped his way in behind the other body. Braids? Must have fixed her hair before bed… Nyko tossed his bare leg over her thigh and snuggled up close with his hand pressing against her stomach.

She may be mad at him in the morning, but he didn’t care. There was an ache in his head that just wouldn’t stop and what he wanted right now was to be close to his lil Thessy Wessy….

Bells. Why did the sound of bells make him feel so alarmed? Yunan squeezed his eyes tighter as he tried to piece the noise together with its importance. Despite his best efforts the hybrid had become too drowsy to work at his desk and then a second of closing his eyes on the bed had turned into actual sleep. The trip to Belrea had taken more out of him than anticipated. It also hadn’t helped that he had spent the better half of the evening escaping a crowd and chasing down the songbird. The songbird! His gaze snapped open just in time for a body to press against his own.

It was warm. In all of his years, Yunan had never embraced anyone with such intimacy nor had he been embraced by anyone other than his parents when he was a youngling. The Matori’s hand against his stomach caused a flush to decorate Yunan’s cheeks and for once he actually found himself frozen. What was this situation? Oh spirits. The Matori was actually almost glued to his body and Yunan was slowly starting to wake up and realize that the other man was naked. Out of all the possible scenarios he had imagined this was not on that list!

Usually Yunan always took his time to make cold and calculating moves, but this time he found himself actually flustered beyond the point of thinking. How dare this songbird just climb into bed and….and cuddle him! Naked like that as well! Yunan clenched his jaw before attempting to remove the hand from his stomach. He just needed to get the Matori off of him so that he could shove the other man to the floor. He just had to try and control himself to do this carefully as to not cause a ruckus in his own room. Spirits, why had he even brought the songbird to his room in the first place?

Ah, that’s right. He had to avoid trouble and now even had thought of a use if the other man would agree. Preferably they could talk about it later….while fully awake and clothed. Taking a deep breath Yunan’s hand slipped down the naked leg so that he could try to also pry away the leg that was clutched against his own body.
