Hidden Fox's ears perked quickly about the silent rumor of a Beserker within the pack lands. He was allowed to venture out a bit further with the intention of spotting this huge killing machine. Fist his mind sprang to his pack, the vitality of everyone with a looming killer trespassing. The thought of his father being submissive as he was being devoured by a creature much larger and more aggressive worried him even more. The real threat loomed toward a certain female Hidden Fox fancied extremely high. She being one to line the pack lines in her travels was in extreme danger of a beast that could easily overcome her. There was no hesitation when he volunteered to patrol the outer limits or even further if his findings lead him there. His pack, his family could be in jeopardy with an ominous killer exploring an area it was forbidden to traverse with in. Immediately, he set off with the intent of finding this beast. Fox slinked through the foliage as low as he could his nose working in overdrive. Any sound he focused on regardless if it was even a squirrel making a run for a nearby tree.
Ears swiveling he headed to the edge of his border and stepped forward.
It was a rarity he ever got to trek further then the limits. The female he was meeting with was off in a different direction, thankfully. To his relief she was safe from how the scents lingered within the air. Hidden Fox certainly would have time to check in on her at a later time. Focusing on that lingering scent he headed off in the opposite direction nose to the ground, tail rigid as it moved behind him. The thought occurred to him this creature could easily make him into a snack. All it took was a bite, strong teeth to rend and tear leaving him forgotten except a large grotesque smear on the ground. That thought was indeed terrifying for any wolf to visualize their own demise.
He had to focus...
A sudden noise pulled his attention into full overdrive as he stopped and turned left abruptly. Hackles raised he crept through bushes and briers focused on locating this presence that seeped into his nostrils. This threat his mind wanted to hide from yet his heart urged him onward in defense for the pack. Hidden Fox had never really known more then the pack since he and his sister and himself were added by the careful upbringing of their father. When he reached the area of the disturbance he knew a dead end was the result. Light in the Storm was also surveying off in the distance so perhaps he rattled the branches laying cracked upon the ground in two? Hidden Fox blinked then continued with a shake of his head. The scent stayed the same leaving him to wonder if this ominous killer had simply entered in the area moving on to another location. Still he wanted no room for a possible error encase this beast could be downwind ready to strike an unsuspecting scout. Thus, Fox moved throughout this area leaving no area unchecked. Once again he noted that the scent was lingering but, it seemed stale, forgotten. Hidden fox paused one last time then turned to return to his pack. Scenting something peculiar Fox found remains of something as its splatter of blood painted not only the ground but the side of a decaying log.
So it had feasted.
Hidden fox snorted turning toward the pack. Things seemed otherwise quiet letting him acknowledge it had moved onto a different area. Still, Hidden Fox would pass on to his Alpha the scent lingered yet the threat was non-existent. Just, because it wasn't there didn't mean it would return once more seeking carnage in its wake.
