• Mokuton Bunshin no Jutsu [Wood Clone Technique]
A clone that is created by altering the user's own cells with chakra. It has more endurance than the normal Shadow Clones and doesn't disappear when hit by the enemies' attacks. Moreover, since it has the ability to merge with plants and trees, it is also great for reconnaissance missions. They have the ability to travel far distances from the user and are able to communicate with the original. The clones can be as simple in function as a wooden dummy for use in the Body Replacement Technique.

• (Mokuton No Jutsu) Wood Style Technique
Creates small wood pillars or trees to trap, defend, or fight with.

• Wood Release: Hand Tool Manipulation
Yamato uses his Wood Release to transform his hand into a tool. This technique has many variations such as it was used to create a opening into Orochimaru's hideout in Kusagakure, made into a key, and into a shield in the Power-Arc.

• Wood Release: Smothering Binding Technique (Mokuton: Mokusatsu Shibari no Jutsu)
By transforming their arm into a tree, the user can then create multiple branches which will rapidly grow around the target, immobilising them. This technique is strong enough to restrain a giant squid.

• Wood Release: Underground Roots Technique

Using the Wood Release, a user can manipulate the terrain, bringing out underground roots of varying sizes to fit various offensive situations, such as using the roots for trickery, misdirection and restriction. One can also use a large scale version, bringing out massive roots over a larger area that tangle around each other with such force that any one caught in-between is violently crushed to death.

• Wood Release: Wood Flow Spears
This technique lets the user condense wood and shape it into spikes that protrude from the ground in order to skewer the target. The spikes can be cut by a sword.

• Wood Release: Wood Spikes Ring
The user creates a semi-circle of wood around a captured target, and then form spikes within the ring, pointing at the target, preventing them from making any sudden movements.

• Daijurin no Jutsu [Great Forest Technique]
A technique that changes one's own arm into big trees. Using chakra, the tissues are transformed into trees at the cellular level. Then, by activating the trees, stimulating them to grow rapidly, they lengthen at high speed and fork into many branches. It is possible to capture the enemy with these branches and at the same time, if one changes the ends into sharp stakes, turn them into countless, sharp, spear-like piercing weapons. This technique has also been used to break through stone walls. When a small hole is found the tree will squeeze in the hole and grow into a square shape and increase the size of the hole so a human can pass through.

• Shichuuka no Jutsu [Four Pillar Home Technique]
By sending chakra into the ground, the roots of the plants are converted into raw materials. This technique allows for a building to be constructed, by forcing accelerated growth. Just like with the Four Pillar Prison Technique, the size and shape of the building are taken from the user's imagination or memories. By placing fuda around the house, the user creates a barrier, making it impossible for the enemy to detect it and allowing the user to "camp" in peace.

• Jubaku Eiso [Binding Nest]
This technique lets the user summon a tree to slowly wrap and bind their opponent. This technique is relatively powerful and holds opponents much more gracefully, with less of a strain on the user, because the user sinks them into the ground. Afterwards, the user can enclose the opponent so that their body implodes.

• Mokuton Henge (Wood Element Transformation)
An advance version of Henge, it uses wood rather than illusion. After the user makes handseals beams of wood will surround them and then converge to form the shape or person they are transforming into. This is best used when the object is wooden in some way.

• Mokuton Shouheki (Wood Locking Wall)
The user will form handseal and several beams of wood will spring from the ground in front of them. The beams come together to form a half dome in front of the shinobi and up to two of his friends. Due to the fact it focuses to the front, it's capable of taking damage of a jutsu one rank higher than it if you supply enough chakra.

• Shicuurou no Jutsu (Four Pillar Prison Technique)
User can form a wooden cage that springs from under the enemy. This is quicker, and can hold a small group.

• (Mokuton: Yanagi) - Wood Style: Wood Willow
Creates a huge willow tree from wooden pillars that can smash multiple enemies.

• Moku Bunshin no Jutsu [Wood Clone Technique]
An upgraded version of the regular Mokuton Bunshin. These clones can do everything that their lower rank counterparts can do. In addition to being able to not only merge with vegetation and wood, but travel through it also. These clones are impossible to tell apart from the user and they can use a limited number of jutsu themselves. (Only one per turn per clone. Can only use Mokuton techniques and they cannot go over A rank. Cannot make more then one clone per turn.)

• Hijutsu: Jukai Kotan [Secret Technique: Nativity of a World of Trees]
The user forces trees to grow on any surface, and can easily create a dense forest anywhere. The technique can be used to bind an opponent and alter a battlefield for one's own uses.

• Mokuton: Kajukai Kōrin [Wood Release: Advent of a World of Flowering Trees]
Taking advantage of the innate properties of Wood Release — to be able to force trees to grow on any surface in an instant — the user creates a dense forest of flowering trees. The pollen produced by these flowers is then released into the atmosphere and when inhaled, renders any afflicted target unconscious. With enough willpower, it is possible to regain consciousness. However, in order to counter the technique fully, either the trees themselves must be destroyed completely or the target must continue to remain elevated above the dispersed pollen.

• Kakuan Nitten Suishu [Entering Society with Bliss Bringing Hands]
This technique utilises the power of the Wood Release to forcibly suppress a tailed beast's chakra. The user would produce the seal "sit" (座, suwaru) on their palm, and then by touching the tailed beast's chakra with their hand, the user then suppresses the chakra inside an area lined with ten or eleven wooden pillars. This improved version of the jutsu can suppress a demons chakra completely regardless of what stage of release it is in.

• Mokuton: Anbureikaburudomu [Unbreakable dome]
The user makes hand seals and then summons extremely flexible wood around them which forms into a protective dome. This dome is capable of not only blocking attacks, but also deflecting them as the wood easily flexes and then rebounds knocking the attack away.

• Mokuton: Jukai Koutan (Wood Release: Birth Of Dense Woodland)
Focusing their ability to control wood into a large area, the user cause thick branches to emerge from it. As long as they hold the right handseal, the can cause the branches to attack enemies and defend allies. This is considered the ultimate in wood control, but can be used by those not experienced in lesser wood techniques.

• Wood Release: Hōbi Technique (Mokuton: Hōbi no Jutsu)
Using Wood Release, the user creates a dome-like defensive structure that completely surrounds which takes the form of a dragon's face. This defence is split down the middle and can be opened on the user's command. It is strong enough to withstand the destructive force of a Tailed Beast Ball.

• Wood Release: Hotei Technique (Mokuton: Hotei no Jutsu)
After performing the required hand seals, the user creates a number of gigantic wooden hands that erupt upward from beneath the ground, which encircle and then attempt to restrain a chosen enemy. The size of each of these hands is around the size of a tailed beast. Hashirama is shown to be able to manifest two hands with sheer will alone, without the use of hand seals.

• Wood Release: Several Thousand Hands
Tobi, while using Yamato as a medium, creates a massive statue, similar to Hashirama's own, which demonstrated the ability to use the five basic chakra natures. Each of the five smaller heads encircling the statue's main head simultaneously used a different nature against the Allied Shinobi Forces, though they were countered by Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi. Unlike Hashirama's much larger variant, it does not seem to require senjutsu chakra.

• Wood Release: Wood Dragon Technique (Mokuton: Mokuryū no Jutsu)
The user creates a gigantic wooden dragon, which they can use for a multitude of purposes including restraining a target, or for offensive purposes. The dragon that the user creates can vary in terms of appearance. While both instances created a serpentine dragon, Chinese dragon, though the first had a short trunk-like nose, while the other two later created did not. It also has the ability to absorb chakra from its target, slowly rendering them unable to use techniques by biting into the target and draining them almost in a vampiric fashion. In the anime, Hashirama was able to cause the dragon to detonate on his target, resulting in a large explosion.

• Wood Release: Wood Human Technique (Mokuton: Mokujin no Jutsu)
After forming the required hand seals, the user creates an enormous statue-like creature out of wood. This humanoid creature with a full body and an oni-like face is usually created with a wooden dragon wrapped around its torso, and is generally used in battle as an avatar. The wooden dragon can be multiplied and be used to attack its enemies directly as well. This creature is stated to be as powerful as the Nine-Tails, and could catch an uncompressed, uncharged, standard Tailed Beast Ball fired by the latter. If the user doesn't have enough time to manifest the entire body, they can manifest a limb or two first to buy enough time for the full body to form. It could even clash against the likes of Madara Uchiha's Complete Body — Susanoo, which was stated by Madara himself to have destructive powers rivaling even the tailed beasts.

In the anime, it is capable of spawning multiple Wood Dragon heads, each capable of self-destructing.

• Top Transformed Buddah (Chōjō Kebutsu)
After creating a gigantic wooden statue that possesses thousands of hands, the user utilises all of these hands simultaneously to deliver thousands of powerful blows to a target. Due to the sheer volume of the punches involved, defending against the entirety of them is nearly impossible. This can be used as a one-shot technique, increasing its destructive power but also resulting in the hands behind the statue's back being destroyed. Afterwards, Hashirama discards the back of the statue to increase the mobility of the True Several Thousand Hands statue. It can also be used more conservatively as seen in Tobi's usage, preventing the hands from being destroyed and enabling another usage of the technique, but results in less destructive power.

• Sage Art Wood Release: True Several Thousand Hands (Senpō Mokuton: Shin Sūsenju)
The Sage Art Wood Release: True Several Thousand Hands is a technique which creates a titanic, many-handed wooden statue that can be freely controlled by the user.

• Mayfly (Kagerō)
The Mayfly is an infiltration technique, which is a signature characteristic of White Zetsu and its clone siblings, due to being infused with the cells of Hashirama Senju.

It allows him to merge his body with the ground and flora and travel at very high speeds; however, it is noted not to be as fast as Space–Time Ninjutsu such as Kamui. His insectivorous plant-like shell has the ability to merge with the ground, because it is tinged with his chakra. Then, using the underground network of organic matter, consisting of things like plant roots and water veins, he can travel everywhere with high speed. Using this technique he can conceal himself in such things as trees and even sand. Once merged, his presence is completely concealed, making it almost impossible to detect him, even for sensor type ninja like Karin. This makes this technique perfect for close-ranged spying.

If a White Zetsu does not wish to leave its location, it can connect itself to the nearby network of plant roots in order to send messages to other Zetsus.

• Hokage-Style Sixty-Year-Old Technique — Kakuan Entering Society with Bliss-Bringing Hands (Hokage-Shiki Jijun Jutsu — Kakuan Nitten Suishu)
This technique utilises the power of the Wood Release to forcibly suppress a tailed beast's chakra. The user produces the "sit" (座, za) kanji in his palm, and by touching the tailed beast, or its jinchūriki, with their hand, the user suppresses the chakra inside an area lined with ten pillars. When Yamato used this technique to suppress Naruto's four-tailed form, Naruto needed to be in possession of the Crystal Gem (結晶石, kesshōseki) to seal the Nine-Tails' chakra.

When Hashirama used it on a tailed beast directly, rather than a jinchūriki, he circumvented the use of the pillars and channelled the tailed beast control through his Wood Release: Wood Human Technique, which could even overwrite the control of a tailed beast controlled by the Sharingan.

The last part of this technique's name, "Kakuan Nitten Suishu" (廓庵入鄽垂手), comes from a famous series of short poems and accompanying images, called the Ten Bull Pictures (十牛図, Jūgyū-zu, Chinese: Shíniú-tú). The pictures and poems are intended to illustrate the stages of Zen discipline.

They were drawn by a twelfth-century Chinese Zen master called Kuòān (廓庵, Japanese: Kakuan, Literally meaning: enclosed hermitage). The tenth poem talks about how the fully-enlightened herdsman returns to the city to help others reach enlightenment. This poem is called Rùchán Chuíshǒu (入鄽垂手, Japanese: Nitten Suishu), which can be translated as "entering society with bliss-bringing hands" (i.e. hands that teach how to reach enlightenment).
