Verosh had left Chibale so that he could gather some herbs in Jahaur. The hybrid warrior was irritated from having to bend so much to gather the herbs that grew around the roots of the giant trees. He had already started the day off in a foul mood because of his father's gossip over the new islands, more so because he had wanted to travel overseas with some of the Sisters on their mission but had been prevented from doing so. Tsk. Clenching his jaw in frustration, Verosh reached up to try and snag a few flakes of a certain fungus for his father from the the sides of a tree. It was at that moment when his guard was down that he found something or rather someone colliding with his body.

Catching himself in time, Verosh barely jerked backwards before glancing down with a frown. What in Aisha's name? It was almost like some wild creature had tried headbutting him, but no. It was just...an earthling? Ah, yes it looked like a shifter now that he could study past the wild array of hair. "Hi and goodbye." He took a few steps back before proceeding to pluck some of the fungus from the tree, "You should take more care when you're running. You could have run into something worse." He finally commented as he cast one last glance towards the smaller earthling.

Just an Alk hybrid? Verosh bristled at the comment, "Sorry to disappoint." He replied with a frown. Perhaps it would have been better if a wild radaku had been the creature to bump into him. The hybrid quirked a brow at her declaration. Nothing that the ever so small earthling couldn't handle, hmm? "Tell that one to the menzuri when you see them." He commented before finishing up with his herb picking and securing them into the satchel at his side. She thought she was threatening with a hammer? That was cute.

At least he could leave now that he had what he needed from the tree.

Of course the day could only get worse as something climbed up towards his back. Verosh tensed and was about to reach around so that he could fling whatever the creature was from his back, "Get your Ethra off of my back." He commanded quietly, doing his best to try and hold back his temper. What spirits had he irritated that they would put him through this out of all things? He already was having a foul morning with the Sisters leaving him behind to explore the new lands. At this rate it would have been much more appealing to risk their displeasure by sneaking away with them to this Kahikani place.

"Fair enough." He replied quietly, his expression still hard to read especially with his mouth slanted in a slight frown, "Though surely you would realize that one of the new race prefer to be underwater and surely not out and about in the jungles here." Would they ever venture into Jahaur? Possibly but it would be hard for them to cross from the ocean surrounding Chibale. Verosh was certain that any of his Sisters would stop such intruders at the first sight of them. As would he.

Verosh clenched his jaw as the girl and her familiar continued touching him. Out of all things why did he have to encounter this mess today? Still, he was doing his best to not lash out. Despite his harsh and blunt nature the young man was not one to be violent for little reason. This surely was no reason to raise his blade...for now. Still his patience had a very, very short existence and he felt it slipping away soon. "Just grab it already." He sighed before moving so that he could crouch and give the smaller earthling easier access to the creature.

"Well now you do." Replied Verosh bluntly as he stayed crouched for the shifter to grab her familiar from his back, "Apparently they can't be on land for too long either since they need water like we need air." He couldn't even begin to think of how strange an existence that had to be. Verosh loved being on land and while he was okay with water he wasn't entirely fond of the idea of the ocean. It was too much water in one place.Just like he wasn't truly fond of creatures using his backside as some sort of perch.

Thankful that the creature was no longer on his back, Verosh simply nodded at the apology and explanation. What was he some sort of tree? The hybrid pressed his lips tightly together to hold back a snarky remark. It simply wasn't worth it. Honestly he was ready to just leave and head home. He had gotten enough herbs after all. Still, as the girl asked another question Verosh paused, "Nothing much other than that. I haven't heard much other than they survive underwater. I don't even know if they have any warriors among them or if they're simply a peaceful race." She really hadn't heard anything about them yet? Verosh was surprised considering how quickly he felt rumors spread.

Verosh nodded his head. At least she had heard something about the new race. The hybrid shifted on his feet, uncertain if he should start on his way or if he should actually consider entertaining the Shifter's questions, "Where? Mostly from others who had been to markets in Jahaur. A lot of travelers are speaking about the new races." He answered honestly. He knew that the Sisters were buzzing with news about a new island but it was not with these underwater races. Their mission was much more secretive and Verosh made certain to stay quiet about such things.

However, the fish people were something that was quickly becoming common knowledge it seemed. He had even taken to venturing closer to Shifter territory just to hear snippets about the new race. Once he had heard several stories about the new race being more peaceful he had lowered his guard and stopped paying quite as much attention to the news. It was why he had felt safe to venture out here to gather herbs today rather than lurking around the traders, "I'm certain if you head towards one of the larger settlements that you'll find someone spilling stories about the new races." He stated with a slight shrug, "Though I doubt many if any have actually seen the new races for themselves yet."

"Oh?" Verosh quirked a brow before shrugging once more, "I suppose then that is unfortunate. I don't know other ways to gather information on the new races save for that." He had expected a Shifter to be more comfortable going to some of the more local settlements but he did not question it. If she did not like crowds then she did not like crowds. It was as simple as that.

Verosh nodded at her compliments, or at least what he supposed were attempts at compliments, "I am following the Alkidike way so it is common for my hair to be like this." He confirmed as he moved to pluck his spear from where it was resting against a nearby tree. He hated not carrying it but when he was plucking herbs it had been a hassle to balance both his weapon and the basket, "Sometimes you need things from the towns that you cannot get at Chibale." He admitted with a faint frown, "My father needed supplies for healing." It was harder for a wind earthling to be more at ease near Chibale and so while Mio stayed in Jahaur, as close as possible, Verosh would do errands for his father whenever he had a chance to visit after training, "It was in Ast where I first heard these rumors but it came from someone who was recently in Neued." Even that made sense to Verosh considering the variety and multitude of traders who went through the larger settlement to the south. He had been there on several occasions with his father and often found stories from all across Tendaji floating about the open markets there.

"If you do not have many more questions I should return soon." He glanced back towards the Shifter thoughtfully. Was there anything else? It seemed neither of them knew much about the new lands save for the rumors that Verosh had picked up here and there.

"Hm?" Verosh glanced back and pursed his lips thoughtfully before finally deciding to leave her with something, "I go by Verosh mostly." He commented as he made certain to gather his basket full of herbs, "I live on Chibale mostly so if you need anything other Alkidikes will know my name there."

Not that he expected anything of her. Verosh was simply being polite, something that his father had instilled in him as of late, and it was an improvement from his younger years when he would have just left the area already. Still, now that he felt enough was said the hybrid simply nodded, "Safe travels to Ast then." And with a wave he started on his own way back towards Chibale, leaving the Shifter girl and her familiar alone in the clearing. If she did find out more information about the new race it would be helpful and if not then he was certain that more rumors would spread soon enough.
