Bright Future
Chibale Alkidike-Only Prompt

Solo or RP Format
Counts as 5 RP growth Points
Solo word minimum is 750, RP post minimum is 7

Prompt
For years, the children of Aisha suffered with a shadow of failure. Their once-sisters turned extremist fled after stealing a sacred seed from their mother tree. It was a betrayal that shamed them, even moreso when they learned that the seed had been planted, cultivated, and bloomed a new race of Aishans.

The idea never had occurred to extend the reach of Aisha, the potential of extending her embrace unbelievable until now. As the Elaria tribe grew in the south, the Alkidikes sought guidance from their matrons and mystics, praying for another seed that they could use to their advantage. It didn't take long until Aisha answered their prayers.

Sending their strongest and swiftest to protect the seed, the Alkidike sisterhood set their eyes toward Belrea. They knew of an island near the north, uninhabited and ideal to plant a seed and test their luck. And so, they sowed their future, and a new tree began to grow.

Use this prompt to discuss your character's hopes around this seed, this tree. Maybe they are on Chibale, waiting for news. Or maybe your character joined her sisters as a protector of this growing tree. Do you expect a similar result like the Extremists...or do you expect more?

After so many years of hearing of the extremists to the south and all that they had been up to, it was surprising for Niabi to hear that her sisters were attempting the same things again. They say it is for peace, to spread their reach and join the others in Tendaji. To make alliances and build trust. But Niabi wasn't so sure. It may have been years since their spat with their exiled sisters, but it was still fresh enough. It had only been years.

She wanted to believe that this was what they said it was, take it at face value. But how could she trust that? She hoped that there was good intentions, that everything would be ok, and that the sisters who had left them would be safe on their travels and find their new home suitable. She was just uncertain. And worried. She felt that things could take a turn for the unfavorable at any point.

What if they didn't have good intentions? What if they did, but something happened to them on their journey? What if they made it there, but only to be met by hostiles? A part of Niabi felt that she should have gone along, if only to try to help make sure that everything would be alright. But she had decided to stay. She didn't have a place out in Belrea with those that had left. Her place was here, near Aisha and the others who she could count on to protect themselves and their ways. The bug mages were all too recent for her liking, and though they were gone, she also didn't trust that.

What if they were to come back? And now there were more trees for them to defend? The alkidike were more spread out than ever before, and that worried her. She lifted her bow and strapped it to her back. She travelled the forests on Ekene regularly, both to help with the hunt and also to clear her head. She felt at peace here on the islands. Back home. Back with her Mother. She could feel the sand and dirt under her bare feet, the familiar heaviness to the humidity in the air, and the breeze that the sea brought in to help keep them cool. It was peaceful. Would her other sisters who had left find that in their new home?

The new tree brought her thoughts to the Extremists as well. It had been years now, and surely the elaria are gaining numbers. She didn't hate them, she just felt they were misunderstood. Too demanding, too adamant in their views. It might have been the ways of the old Alkidike, but their time had passed, and it was only a matter of time before they had to make peace with their qualms, or also become part of the past. She couldn't imagine it would work out well for them if they remained as they were. But she did also hope that they were ok, and they had faired well these last years. They were sisters still, or cousins as it were.

She did know one thing though. Even though the extremists and the elaria had not turned out favorably, this new seedling to be planted and the sisters that took them, there was hope there. Even with the doubts in Niabi's mind, she knew that the others were expecting and hoping for great things. It would be a new sister tree for their mother Aisha, and with any luck, new blooms to carry the love of their tribe. The alkidike had come a long way in the last few decades, and Niabi could feel the change all around her. It felt good.

To be hateful for so long was so draining.

She thought about the earthlings that she had met on her travels. They weren't evil, they weren't dangerous, they were just different. And what a time to settle differences than now? Maybe the new tree would be one more step closer to settling their differences with the earthlings permanently? Though that was probably a stretch, Niabi admitted that much. Even with her neutral feelings towards the earthlings, there's no way they would be accepted like the sisters were. They wouldn't come near Aisha, or make homes on Chibale. But they could make it as peaceful as they could hope for, and that would be an acceptable start to her.

Change was in the air, and she hoped for the best, even if she still had her reservations.
