Bright Future Chibale Alkidike-Only Prompt
Solo or RP Format Counts as 5 RP growth Points Solo word minimum is 750, RP post minimum is 7
Prompt For years, the children of Aisha suffered with a shadow of failure. Their once-sisters turned extremist fled after stealing a sacred seed from their mother tree. It was a betrayal that shamed them, even moreso when they learned that the seed had been planted, cultivated, and bloomed a new race of Aishans.
The idea never had occurred to extend the reach of Aisha, the potential of extending her embrace unbelievable until now. As the Elaria tribe grew in the south, the Alkidikes sought guidance from their matrons and mystics, praying for another seed that they could use to their advantage. It didn't take long until Aisha answered their prayers.
Sending their strongest and swiftest to protect the seed, the Alkidike sisterhood set their eyes toward Belrea. They knew of an island near the north, uninhabited and ideal to plant a seed and test their luck. And so, they sowed their future, and a new tree began to grow.
Use this prompt to discuss your character's hopes around this seed, this tree. Maybe they are on Chibale, waiting for news. Or maybe your character joined her sisters as a protector of this growing tree. Do you expect a similar result like the Extremists...or do you expect more?

A letter had come for her and she had read its contents. Ariya had thought it odd that it had been delivered by one of her sisters since the only Alk she knew that would write to her was her daughter, Subira. But she’d been right, it had been from her child. The girl had her own mind and own way and Ariya respected that. What she’d read in the letter, however, made her frown just a little.
It had informed her that Subira had gone with the other sisters to travel to the new world, Belrea. The one where the people had flying ships. As if that wasn’t strange enough to keep people away. But that wasn’t all that the letter had spoke of. It told Ariya that her daughter believed as the others did. That they could expand Aisha’s reach by planting another seed and doing as the extremists did. When she’d read that her first reaction was to crumble the paper and toss it to the ground. Ariya had refused to finish the letter then. Instead she grit her teeth and glared at the wall.
So many things crossed her mind. Had she gone wrong in rasing her child? Had Subira turned into an extremist? Did she need to worry about her daughter coming home to visit now? Would she be rude to Ujana? The twins? Eurig? While it was true Ariya hadn’t helped to create the boy, or even plead for him from Aisha, Eurig was her son just as much as Ujiri was. So she’d not tolerate if Subira suddenly treated him with distaste.
A huff left her and she thought back to her sweet little girl. No, there was no way she could end up like that. Perhaps she just genuinely wanted to see Aisha’s reach extended so that others could enjoy her blessings? Or maybe she wanted to help their Tree Mother grow. Whatever it was she was sure hatred was not the motivator.
Ariya paused again to look at the crumpled letter. For a long moment she stared at it and thought about the past. Granted, she might not leave the jungle much. She preferred her life with Ujana and the kids, but she wasn’t stupid. She’d heard about the Elaria. They’d been bloomed from some tree that sprouted from the seed of Aisha. The thought was still a strange one but it was truth enough.
After calming down she moved over and picked up the crumpled letter so she could finish reading it. Ariya smoothed the thick paper out so that she could see the words better. Seeing the last few lines of scribble she gave a snort and a smile. She should have finished the letter before she let her anger get hold of her. Subira mentioned that she wanted to one day show the new tree to her younger siblings. She knew Eurig would never be allowed because he was an earthling but she also planned to draw a sketch of the new tree to send home so that her brother could see just as clearly as the others.
Finding her seat again she laid the letter on the table and stared at it. Ariya hadn’t failed in her parenting after all. There was nothing to worry about. But it did give her a lot to think about as far as the future went. There were two mother trees in the world right now. Aisha and whatever it was the extremists had named their tree. Ariya couldn’t rightly remember it at the moment. Not that she really cared to. It wasn’t like she was going to suddenly pray to it or visit it for children. And lets face it, she was too old for more kids. The ones she had now were going to make her dreads turn grey.
But it made her wonder what another tree would be like. What would it bloom? More Alks? Or would they be different like the Elaria were? Did that have something to do with the land the tree grew on or was it the seed itself? Was that Aisha’s way of having daughters of her own? Those trees that would give life to others.
Leaning back in her chair she continued to stare at the paper, the letter from her daughter. ”Well, it’ll certainly be interesting to find out. I just hope my child knows what she’s doing.” Her concern was for the fact that Subira was only a Blade. Barely out of the prentice stage of her training. It made her worry like any other mother would. ”I guess I need to let Ujana know what our daughter decided to do all on her own.” A hand came up and she rubbed at her face as she sighed heavily. It was likely Ujana wouldn’t react the same way Ariya had. The woman really should have been born an Alkidike. Warrior spirit all the way. The thought made her grin as she moved to grab the letter off the table.
