Name: Safiya Mahsa
(cousin to both Kalani and Cinta Mahsa- Kalani has a huge extended family, that she pretends doesn’t exist, as usual)
Nickname: Saf or Safi, but only to certain individuals
Gender/Pronoun: Female, She/Her or They/Them
Age: 17
Birthday: November 1
Sign: Scorpio
Gemstone: Topaz
Blood Type: O-
Fav. Food: ice cream of most kinds, esp sea salt
Hated Food: certain store brand ice creams, but also most ‘unique’ flavors (like bacon), and certain ice cream bars where the wafers taste more like cardboard than chocolate.
School/Occupation: St. Mags
Hobbies: there’s no reason for the crystal to be blue -- Check out my character in #GranblueFantasy! Safiya got into the popular mobile jrpg a couple years ago, though she’s not exactly anywhere near a hardcore player, as much as somewhere in between casual and midcore, maybe, with her peak activity being during gachapin roulettes, where she can sometimes get lucky enough to spark an SSR (and make Lani salty about it). Her grids certainly are lacking, and the blue Eternals skin is but a distant dream, but sometimes she can mvp her own raids, so she’s got that going for her?
Her favorite characters tend to lean on the villainous side- with her top two being Faasan (Lucilius) and Belial, but she can appreciate some of the ‘good guys’, too- with her star character being Cagliostro. There’s just something about being able to solve your problems with alchemy and feeding your enemies to a giant snake (made of alchemy) that she can respect, after all.
me? gongaga. -- As a person with a social media account and access to WiFi, Safiya is no stranger to the concept of both shitposting and making memes for the sake of fake internet points and the feeling of validation online. While she’s nowhere near the level of being the next dril or horse_ebooks, it doesn’t deter her in the least bit- and by jove, does she try. Aside from her main account, which doesn’t have quite the number of followers she’d like, she also runs a struggle tweets account and a dril parody account.
thrifting -- Safiya’s fashion sense could be considered to be non existent, at least in the sense that she dresses how she wants without following the trends, but that in itself could be considered a style, with there being an actual word to it, it being what some people call ‘thrift store chic’. She buys her clothes at second hand stores and puts outfits together that way.
Technically, she doesn’t exclusively shop at thrift stores, but as someone with limited income and no real interest in keeping up with trends, she tends to just go for whatever she likes that’s the cheapest..
Virtues: outplay, outwit, outlast -- In spite of people’s misgivings about her due to both her family situation and her ending up in St. Mags, Safiya is a lot smarter than people give her credit for… at least in terms of her ability to outsmart and outplay people. If she really bothers to apply herself, she can accomplish a lot of things… though they aren’t always the right things, admittedly. In that aspect, she can be quite the mastermind at times, like an expert at 4D chess. (not that that’s a real thing)
driven -- If Safiya wants something, she’ll push herself to work towards it. No matter how long it takes, she refuses to give up, knowing that if she’s persistent enough, she’ll accomplish what she sets out to do. Of course, as to whether the things she pursues purely have good intentions behind them or not remains to be seen, but. Y’know. She works
hard, and that should be admired.
independent -- If there’s one thing Safi is often praised for, it’s her ability to do things on her own without relying on others to do it for her. She takes initiative instead of waiting around, and solves her problems on her own. If something needs done, she does it herself, basically, no matter how small or mundane it may seem. In a way, Safi almost takes a certain pride in it, even.
Flaws: you gotta be so cold to make it in this world -- While praised for her independence, the truth is that Safiya is actually rather… distant? Aloof? A history of friendships going down the drain and just being let down in general have taught her that in the end, it’s really better to do things on her own, rather than wait for anyone else to jump in and help. By keeping her expectations low, she can’t be disappointed as easily, after all.
unlimited salt works -- Safiya is a person who easily goes through extreme bouts of jealousy and pettiness, when it comes to the validation she so desperately craves, and has a tendency to hold grudges for very lengthy periods of time, even after the offending action (or conversation) has long since passed. Although she may put on an air of apathy, pretending to be indifferent about it, she secretly stews in her own anger. While not exactly the handlebar mustache twirling villain in fiction, Safiya, if she feels she has been wronged, is petty enough to the point where she will plot her revenge behind your back. It may take weeks, months, or even years, but she will have vengeance.
deceitful -- Honesty is not Safiya’s thing, to be honest (pun? maybe.). She’s a schemer at best, who knows that to get what she wants, certain actions must be taken. She’ll lie and cheat to get her way, and she’s not above a little backstabbing, either. … If it weren’t for the bleedover of her general petty and vengeful nature into those kind of games, she would make a good traitor/impostor when it comes to social deduction games, not that she doesn’t already make one.
