JupiterDragon I think they could have if they got really strong with all the materia and there best weapons. they probably could of, im mean there is a way. all they would of needed would be to jack up all of their stats and even out they're stats with each other, then it probably would of been possible. of course, who has the time to do that...

I seriously doubt it. I mean, Cloud is the duct tape that holds the group together. heart

That depends on if you mean in the game, as in just stats and hitpoints, then they could easily beat him. I have done it before.
But, if you mean story wise, no. I don't think anyone would have had the will power to go on and fight without him.

Honestly, I could see it happening. First off...if that was the case and you had to fight without cloud it would have to be beatable. But I would expect it to be extremely hard. because like Silverune said "Cloud is the duct tape that holds the group together". So my answer to that question would be a maybe, if you play your cards right.

I suppose it could be done, but only in the game as Blood Lycan had said. Unless something like this...
Tifa rose to her feet, defying the limitations of a human body. "Cloud and Aeris died for us, we can't let them down!"
kind of a scenario happened. Without him, it's like an army losing its General, they may still be able fight, but their will may not be able to bring them up.
Yep, watching way too many army and anime movies as of late

I guess they could have. It may have been hard but there is a possiblity they could have done it. Just depends on how high of a level you got them and what materia you had. But the possiblities of them winning, without Cloud, are fairly slim. Cloud had a huge grudge on Sephiroth and he had to settle a score. So even if they did beat the first two forms the last form would have been hard because it was between Cloud and Sephiroth.

that would be a tough battle to win....i mean we wouldnt even have the great omnislash 2 help us,...and we would probably have 2 rely on cids highwind attack 2 win.or knights of the round would just finish the battle in seconds lol

Hmm. If Cloud wasn't in the story at all, the group never would've gotten the initial motivation to go after him. Aeris would get left behind and be captured by the Turks, RedXIII would still be in the lab, and AVALANCHE would either go after him eventually or end up in jail for acts of terrorism. Vincent and Yuffie of course would not be recruited.
If Cloud died partway through, like, say, pre-Temple of the Ancients, maybe it could work out. Sephiroth wouldn't get the Black Materia and Aeris might not've died. Of course, when Sephiroth saw the group minus Cloud, he might just kill them on the spot. He's got no reason to keep them around, whereas with Cloud he was using him.
As much as I dislike Cloud, he's the one that really gets them going against Sephiroth, and he's the only reason why Sephy didn't kill them all on sight through the many encounters in the game. Without him they're lost/dead/jailbait.
