Conflagration flexed zeir front toes, gripping the dirt, belly against the ground, and slowly looked around to examine the surrounding area. Small trees and brush seemed to dot the land sparsely, the sound of nearby waterways reaching zeir ears. The night was quickly growing to total darkness and those fuzzy, uncertain shapes would melt away from Flag's vision before long, but it wouldn't matter one bit. Once again there was no memory of how ze got here, which annoyed zem to no end but there seemed to be nothing to be done about it. This just kept happening and had been happening for at least as long as this personality had existed.

A soft glow seemed to be emanating from an outcropping of rock...or was it a full cave entrance? It was too dark to tell without getting closer but that wasn't what this side of Conflagration was interested in. No, it had been much too long since this consciousness had risen to the surface and Flag was nothing if not a social butterfly. But there seemed to be no other wolves around and that just wouldn't do. No other wolves nearby meant it was long past time to move on from wherever the hell ze had ended up and go find others - hopefully someone extremely pretty.

Without knowing anything useful about the location, Flag didn't have much information to guide zem in choosing a direction to travel in. Ze hoped that one day enough pieces would fall into place that getting lost wouldn't be so common when a different consciousness took over but in the meantime guessing and moving was better than standing still and waiting for answers to show up on their own. With a roll of the shoulders, Flag stood and began moving northwest. If ze walked far enough there had to be other wolves eventually, no matter where zeir feet took zem, right?

The glow melted away in almost no time at all, the darkness of night enveloping everything. Flag padded along, moving silently through groves of trees and clearings as they alternated, night slowly brightening to early dawn as the miles melted away under zeir paw pads. Eventually the patchy terrain changes gave way to a thick forest of enormous redwood trees. Flag paused, sat down, mouth hanging open as they took in the majesty of the ancient plants. Movement caught zeir attention, a large hare darting through the underbrush, and Flag took off after it, stomach rumbling after all the travel. Ze could smell the faint evidence of other wolves around here somewhere. If they weren't coming back this way, they'd been around recently, and that meant this was the kind of place Flag wanted to be. As ze pounced on the rabbit, claws quickly dispatching it, a little wag began in zeir tail at the thought of meeting another wolf soon. Who would it be? What would they be like? And most importantly, could Flag talk this new acquaintance into a tryst before a different aspect of zeir personality took over?
