Soleiyu had gotten washed up--with some difficulty. He'd used a full bottle of shampoo and conditioner and had no intention of replacing it tonight. Being 'human' was too foreign to him and he hadn't spent enough time watching anyone in the bath to have any experience in how one should do it. He did his best. He came out smelling like lilies and gardenia. He shamelessly went through the closet Cambria and Zac shared and pulled out the nicest pair of clothes he could find.
Of course Zac wouldn't have had a suit, it was only fitting. Still, he managed to look decent in the white button up shirt and black slacks. He didn't wear shoes, they just felt wrong. He helped himself to a pair of Evan's socks, though--he liked the little stars on them. He had tied back his hair in a pretty ribbon and kept his golden glasses on his face while he worked.
He had spent enough time watching Evan cook, watching cooking shows, to know how to make a meal. At least, in theory. Soleiyu was not so bold as to think that his first endeavor into cooking would be a good one, so instead he ordered takeout. It was delivered, and he simply made the plates.
He made them beautiful. He paired a nice wine with the meal and set up a lovely little table--that was easy to do. Flowers in a little vase, candle light. He played soft music from the television and let the aroma of food flow through the house. He was cleaning up in the kitchen, eyeing the clock as he waited for Cambria to come home.
He wanted this to be perfect--needed it to be.
...Though, it was already better than anything he'd seen Zac do. The bar for comparison was relatively low. He had full intentions of blowing this out of the water, regardless.

Cambria came home, tired from her day working the food truck, and eager to be home to relax. Evan was going out with Tobias, and Zac was working, so it would just be her for tonight, so she was going to take full advantage of being home alone and was planning on ordering a pizza. And not letting anyone know about it.
Her mouth was watering by the time she got home though paused when she heard the soft music and smelled the food.
…Was Zac here after all? Was she being punked?
Or did Tobias and Evan set something up for themselves?
Was her self-care pizza date going to be ruined by unplanned events?
Quietly, Cambria walked into the dining room and blinked at the setup, her brows furrowing in utter confusion. “Hello?”
Seriously…nobody should be home tonight but her…

"Cambria," Soleiyu called; it didn't occur to him that she wouldn't know who he was, that she wouldn't recognize his voice. "Good, I'm glad you're home. Make yourself comfortable. Dinner's ready, go fast so it doesn't get cold. It's delicious, you'll love it," he insisted, stepping from the kitchen.
He was prim and proper and wore a friendly smile--for a stranger in her kitchen, serving her food, addressing her by name.
"I mean, it's not Evan's, cooking," he added, "But it's different. And you deserve something different, you've been around his cooking all day."

Cambria paused and stared at the white haired stranger, pursing her lips. “…Do I have a stalker now? You um. Why are you in my house? How…do you know about Evan? If you’re trying to kidnap me, I tell you. I’m not some helpless person…”
Her hand had slowly moved into her pocket to grip her henshin pen.
“What do you want?”
She was cautious, her eyes narrowed still. “…Why did you make dinner? Why…are you here? You should leave before I call the cops. Or my boyfriend. Or both.” There was a slight waiver in her voice, and Cambria took a step backwards, her other hand inching for her phone. She could take care of this on her own but…she didn’t want to power up in front of a stranger if she could help it.

Soleiyu stared at her for a moment and then just huffed indignantly. "Stop it Cambria, don't be ridiculous. I live here. I know about Evan because he lives here. Keep your henshin pen in your pocket."
He gestured to the dinner. "I made you dinner because you're worth it. When was the last time Zac did something like this for you? I've been telling you for ages, you're out of his league."
He might not have looked like Soleiyu, but he sounded like him.
"This is what you should come home to. A beautiful, relaxing dinner, made by a man who cares about you. Zac would never think to do something like this. And before you say 'Because Evan do all the cooking,'" he gestured to the plate. "It's not that hard to order food if you can't cook. And it's easy to light candles and pick music. So--what do I want? I want you to go get changed into something more comfortable and join me for dinner. I did this for you, Cambria."
He was quiet for a moment. "...You really don't recognize me? I mean, I don't recognize myself in the mirror, I admit. But it's me." He gave her a few seconds to process before he expanded, "Soleiyu."

Soleiyu?
For a moment, Cambria just stood there, mouth open and gaping as her eyes roamed over the cat who was now a human. Just a human. A normal human and…
“H-how?” For once, she didn’t have the mental fortitude to chide him for speaking ill of Zac. She didn’t have the mental fortitude to do…anything right now. This wasn’t something that she had anticipated, and she had absolutely no idea how to deal with it.
“…Where is your fur? And your cute little ears? I…I’ll feel really strange cuddling with you while you lay in my lap now…”
She swallowed and had a seat at the table, unable to keep herself standing. “…Why are you human?” How did this happen? Was this normal? He…he had never been human before.

"I don't know," he answered, lips pursed. "But it's very annoying. I can't feel energy signatures. I can't use magic. I can't access any abilities."
He sat down at the table across from her. "I may be too big for your lap, but you can sit in mine. I can play with your hair without chewing on it."
Soleiyu reached for the bottle of wine and poured her and himself half a glass each. "I legitimately have no idea how this happened, though. It didn't occur to me that you wouldn't recognize me. I don't know if I like that." He sighed heavily but didn't reach for the glass.
"Perhaps it's just a fluke? Nothing like this has ever happened. But it's not like I can go out and talk to any other Mauvians about it--I can't sense them at all."

Well, this was odd, and perhaps just a little worrisome. If Soleiyu couldn’t access his magic…what would that mean for senshi? How would he help awaken new ones or help those who needed to become stronger…?
Cambria chewed on her lower lip thoughtfully. “I suppose that’s true. About my hair…but aren’t you worried? I…I don’t know. I feel like this is a time for going out and figuring what’s going on…not…trying to woo me when you know full well that I have a boyfriend…as much as you dislike him…”
She tried to sound as though she cared more than she did, but the whole situation was just so absurd. “…you’re not trying to like…steal me away from him, are you? Because, as much as I love you, Sol…” He was a cat. And that was all there was to it.
“Zac wouldn’t be very pleased if he knew you were doing all of this…I suppose we’re both lucky that he’s at work…but…” She hesitated. If this was happening to other Mauvians…
“Can’t you go…can’t we go like…cat hunting? I can bring some tuna. Do you think this is just you that’s human?”

Soleiyu watched her, occasionally nodding in sync with her words but he paused and huffed at her. "I'm not trying to woo you, Cambria." He nearly seemed offended by the accusation. "I was reminding you what it was like to be appreciated. Ugh, Cambria. Please, I can't believe you."
He almost seemed to be sulking now. "I have some time to spend alone with you and, in case you didn't notice, I've been gone since last night, when this first happened. I think I deserve a bit of a break. And, what better opportunity than to spend it with you, reminding you how important you are? I'm not trying to steal you for myself. But I am trying to encourage you to look for someone better."
He raised his cup of wine and sipped at it shamelessly. "There are plenty of humans that would treat you like a princess. Who would respect and adore you. You can't honestly tell me that you think he's the best you can do...?"
He looked at her almost helplessly, desperately, and let the question sink in. "--And, I don't know who is affected. I haven't seen any other cats since last night, but it's not like that's uncommon. And, Cambria, that's so stereotypical...Not all Mauvians like tuna. You'll get so many stray Earth cats. We could go 'cat hunting', but if anyone else changed, it would be impossible to tell--unless they're wearing a big sign that says 'I'm a Mauvian, what's going on?'."

She snorted and shook her head, half annoyed and half amused. “Zac does appreciate me, and you know it. You never complain about Evan, and I just don’t understand what you don’t like about him…He’s always been wonderful to me…and if it’s because he was with the Negaverse…so was Evan’s boyfriend. And Gales. So that kind of…ruins any argument you might have had concerning that!”
Pursing her lips, Cambria shook her head. “He’s wonderful, Sol. I love him so much…I think he’s amazing, and I wouldn’t trade him for anyone in the world. I don’t…understand why you want me with someone else when…I love Zac…isn’t my happiness enough for you?”
Honestly, it made her unhappy when Sol would talk about how he didn’t approve of Zac. She wanted the Mauvian to like him. And to support her. But.
“…I hope we can find at least one or two, I don’t like the idea of you without your powers, even if it is nice to be able to look you in the eyes without craning my neck. And a hug from you would be nice.”

Soleiyu was nearly sulking at her words. "Of course your happiness is important to me, I just think you deserve a prince and he's so crude and vulgar. He doesn't bring you flowers or presents, or lose himself when he looks into your eyes. He's gruff and insensitive. So he was in the Negaverse, he left. He made a mistake and he's trying to make up for it. Though, I don't think it would kill him to try a little harder, or to be a little more grateful that he's got you."
He leaned back in his chair a bit. "Honestly, I like most of the company you keep. But Zac is oblivious. Do you know how many times I have to move so he doesn't step on me? So rude." Still, he sighed, if not just a bit dramatically. Only, he did it in complete seriousness. "Do you want a hug now before we eat?" he asked, not wanting this whole meal to be ruined by her being upset that he was still fussing over Zac.
It wasn't like he could just turn it off; he cared too much about her not to want what was best.
Zac wasn't the gentleman he had in mind for her, and if Cambria wasn't going to drop him it meant that he was going to have to find some way to clean Zac up.
It wasn't a task he was looking forward to but it was a last resort, at least.

Cambria snorted, watching him with a now amused expression. “That’s just how he is, and I get that. I think he’s perfect, and I’m not going to change my mind, no matter how many times you say it…” It was endearing though, and the fact that he cared so much, made her feel warm inside. Like her heart was happy to know that she was so loved.
“I would love to have the hug now, and maybe one after dinner too, if you’re still interested. You’re a lot taller than I thought you’d be, you know. And…a lot more handsome than I thought too! I always expected…you know, short and cute…not this tall show stopping hunk!”
It was so easy to tease him. Like she had been doing this for most of her life, and not just in the past year or so.
“I do hope that you realize I love you a lot, Sol. And I’m so glad you were able to find me. I’m glad that you’re here. Even if I get grumpy because you hate my boyfriend.” There was a smile on her face as she spoke this time, and Cambria moved to snuggle against him, giving a light laugh.

Though Soleiyu normally did such a good job keeping a straight face, or at least looking somewhat respectable, it was a bit easier to read him in this moment. On his human face, his lips twisted into a bit of a pout and his brows knit. He looked almost like an overgrown child ready to throw a tantrum, though before his temper broke he just sighed. It was a bit dramatic coming from him but he was trying to cover up the twinge of pink that had appeared across his cheeks.
"Well," he huffed, but snuggled a little closer into her hug. "I don't hate him," he grumbled. "...I just want him to be better. You should nag him more. You deserve royalty."
Some tendencies he couldn't shake; he nuzzled his forehead against her cheek as if he might have when he was in his small, catlike form. He wrapped his arms around her to give her a good hug while he did so but said, "Your compliments are kind. This form feels unnatural to me. I miss my tail, and my ears. And my star. I feel naked without them. I hope one day you get to see them, though. I don't feel so handsome without them. So I hope you aren't teasing me right now."

Cambria laughed lightly, nuzzling him right back, feeling whatever annoyance she had with him draining out of her with rapid speed. “Maybe I’ll nag him a little, I do like the idea of this food, maybe I’ll pester him to take me on a date sometime soon…I do deserve it, after all. But you are handsome you know. Even though…yeah, I miss your tail and ears and star too.”
Drawing away slightly, Cambria looked the white haired male over and then kissed his forehead, right where the star should be. “I’m sure we’ll get them back. We just have to figure out what’s going on, and then fix it. Such is the way of life in this stupid city, right?”
Finally, reluctantly, she drew away completely and looked at the dishes spread out before her. “These look amazing, Soleiyu, thank you. Can we eat now? My stomach is rumbling like thunder. Can you hear this nonsense?” Cambria was in a very good mood now, and seemed as though the rest of the bad feelings she was having for the mauvian turned human were gone. “I love you, you know. And…I’ll make sure Zac treats me right, don’t you worry. Though…royalty does sound nice, now that you mention it.”

"Please!" Soleiyu insisted, brows knit in the slightest display of concern, as if he had to worry that the evening would be ruined because they waited so long to eat. Food was not so quick to spoil but he returned back to his seat. "Please, eat. As much as you want. And don't forget that promise," he insisted, catching her eyes.
"Make sure he treats you right. And takes you on dates, and feeds and pampers you. If he loves you, he must, I'll accept nothing less. And if he does a good job, I won't have to nag so much. Really," he insisted, "It's that simple. Oh."
He was quiet for a few seconds.
"And tell him to stop kicking me out of the bed at night. If you leave the door open, I'm going to come in. And if you close the door, I'm still going to come in. If I don't, Evan's dog will try to lay on me, and I'm better than that."
He did not speak unkindly of the dog, though; Evan pampered the creature and raised it with only tender affection. In turn, the dog had grown with nothing but love in its heart.
Evan let the dog sleep in bed, or on the couch, or on him.
Naturally, Soleiyu knew he must be permitted to sleep wherever he wanted, too.
...Though, perhaps only when he was able to get into his smaller form again.
