Going from 'paws' to 'person' wasn't something Soleiyu had anticipated while out attending to his nightly business; naturally he aspired to reach his full potential and function with all forms--but this?
Even he knew that this was wrong.
He had no ears. No tail. No fur, no star, no magic.
For all intents and purposes, he was absolutely human.
It was devastating. It took him nearly an hour to figure out how to make his hands function, and longer than that to walk with the grace and elegance he deserved. Naturally, he sought answers--but there were none. He stayed out all night. He napped deep in the forest when the sun was up, exhausted by the efforts, and then rose again with greater determination.
He had things to do. He needed to be home. No one he'd seen gave any indication that they knew what was going on, and he certainly hadn't run into Mauvians that seemed to know, either. Which meant this was another mystery that needed to be solved. He made his way home, shamelessly invited himself in, and was a bit disappointed to find it empty.
Cambria and Evan were out with the food truck--who knew where the rest went. It wasn't exactly his concern. He was home alone and would be until tonight--only--ah. Yes. Tonight, Evan and Tobias were going to be out late at a movie. Zac worked. Cambria would be home alone.
This worked out well. He had been nagging at her for her poor choice in boyfriend for months now--and his tired mind needed a break from trying to piece things together. He couldn't do this on his own and there was no one he trusted more than Cambria. She could help him when she got home.
She could also get a good taste of her own medicine. He could lie and say he didn't like the idea of being able to tell her 'I told you so,' but if she wouldn't believe his words, she'd have to believe his actions. He needed to get cleaned up. He needed to give his time some mind to process what was going on--what could have happened to have changed him like this.
He needed a project he could focus on, something he could solve to get himself in the right spirits to consider this otherwise hopeless task.
He needed a bath, first and foremost. Cleanliness had never been an issue for Soleiyu; he was frequently tending to his hygiene. Now, though, he could enjoy washing his hair.
...Oh, there was so much of it. This was going to take forever. He needed to clean up. Needed to find something nice to wear. Needed to get in the kitchen, to get the house set up.
He couldn't just make this easy on himself. He couldn't just pull out the phone and give her a call and tell her to come home. He couldn't just sit on the couch and wait patiently for her to come home.
No, he had to make something out of this.
He didn't know how much time he was going to have in this form but if he wasn't researching how to get out of it, he certainly wasn't going to waste his time.
Besides, he had a lesson to teach.
