RoleCrown Prince of Muriel
KingdomMuriel
AllegianceMuriel and the Royal Family of Muriel

Occupation
Crown Prince: Remy is the next in line to rule the kingdom of Muriel. He studies under numerous tutors, does charity work in his kingdom, and often acts as an ambassador for peace and travels to other kingdoms to promote peace. When the time comes, he will become king. He was literally born for this role and has spent all of his life preparing.

Hobbies
Gardening: Despite projecting this handsome, strong, and charming persona to the people, Remy likes to spend a lot of his free time in his garden. It was given to him by his mother when he was young in an attempt to get him to focus on one thing, anything, and gardening seemed to calm him. His flowers are among the most beautiful in the kingdom and he's worked very hard to get them that way.
Reading: Remy needed to be this perfect figure for the people since the moment of his birth. The pressure would occasionally become too much for him and he would find his escape from responsibility in books. He especially likes romances and swashbuckling adventures but does also enjoy reading about the history of the kingdoms and military strategies.
Close-Combat: The prince may look like any other bookworm, but he's quite the formidable opponent if faced with a sword, dagger, staff, hand-to-hand, even a mace. He was taught how to fight when he was still a child so that in the future he could protect himself if necessary, but he developed a surprising amount of skill relatively quickly and it's now likely the only social activity he takes part in with complete willingness. This is probably because smiling isn't a requirement.

The Personal Things
▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃
Personality Remiel plays his part very well. He is kind and welcoming to any being, whether he meets them in his father's court or on the side of the road. His charm, wit, and good-natured personality make him a popular presence in and out of his country. Given enough time, however, an observant eye would be able to see the cracks in the veneer of the Crown Prince's shiny exterior. While he's not a bad person and does sincerely want the best for the three kingdoms, he's nowhere near as pleasant and accomodating as his public persona would make him out to be. Unfortunately, a lifetime of lessons and reminders that a prince is not just a ruler but a symbol as well has forced Remiel to hide his otherwise dour and occasionally surly demeanor behind a wall of princely perfection. On the bright side, there have been some who have managed to get through even that surliness to find a truly caring and sweet, if not slightly awkward, individual. He even has a playful side that comes out when he plays pranks on his little sister or helps her plan her own.

Strengths
Not Just a Pretty Face: Remiel was trained to be a king and excelled in all of his studies because he needed to. He's well-versed in military strategy, although he hasn't quite needed to go to war yet, the history of the kingdoms, and is at the very least conversational in the most common languages of the landmass they happen to be located on. There are a few rumors going around that he can also read the script of the Dark Mages but no one's been able to prove it.
Deceptively Strong: Despite being pretty scrawny-looking, Remiel does pack quite a punch. It's debatable if this is because he grew up with a scrappy little sister like Princess Odette and needed to build up strength. Regardless, he's a lot stronger than he looks.
Liar, Liar: Being a king is being a politician, and Remy is better at anyone else in his family at hiding his true self. No one outside the royal family has any idea of his real personality and he is very dedicated to ensuring that remains the case. Even his valets believe him to be as jovial and charismatic as he pretends to be.

Weaknesses
My Head Aches from All This Beauty: There's really no simpler way to put it: Remiel is very pretty. Suitors, male and female alike, ask for his hand and to share in his family's riches at least once a month and it's more of a nuisance than it is flattering. There was once a time when he greatly enjoyed the attention, but one too many bad experiences now made him resentful of his looks and unable to trust anyone who might have an interest in him. To this day, the only maid he doesn't hate to be around is a closeted lesbian.
Please, Give Me Earplugs. I Beg You!: Remy loves music but has no talent for it. He massacred every instrument handed to him and, while his singing isn't as bad as it could be, it's just not great. It's a serious soft spot for him.
Why Is Your Hand On My Knee?: When he's not acting the part of the perfect prince, Remy is very awkward. The image of the prince is a familiar one that he can manipulate, but acting like himself, it's far too easy for him to misread things and end up becoming uncomfortable and awkward. It connects to the trust thing. Just- the guy's a bundle of nerves, man. One wrong move and he'll crumble like a 50 cent cookie.

Biography
Several years and many prayers after the marriage of the king and queen of Muriel, the royal couple told their subjects that he'd come out with a sweet smile and a sweeter temper. Of course, this was a lie. Remiel was born screaming and clenching his fists. Although he was too young to know it, this was the first piece of the persona Remiel would adopt to please the public. He was taught how to perfect this image of noble courteousness over years and years of strict lessons from his tutors and, on occasion, his father. This left little time for having relationships, but even the ill-tempered have a need for companionship, and Remiel did find one or two lifelong friends that he hoped would not eventually betray him. He also grew very close to his younger sister, although one wouldn't be able to tell upon first seeing them interact.
Remiel did learn early that his image as the Prince of Roses was more important than really anything else, and all because of the King of Ishgar. His father took him on a secret trip to Ishgar when he was 11 to watch the execution of the latest Queen of Ishgar. He asked his father over and over why they were going, but the king would only shush him and move him along. When they were in the center square, his father moved him so he could stand on a fallen fruit stand and see over the crowd as the Queen, a beautiful woman with what seemed like miles and miles of dark braids all over her pretty head, had her head removed by the executioner. He immediately tried to turn away, sick to his stomach, but his father forced him to continue to look and watch the people and their eager reactions to mop up her blood with handkerchiefs. This was why he needed to keep the image perfect. People turned too easily on royalty. If you endear yourself, make yourself a perfect specimen that they all love, buff out any possible reason for them to mistrust you, and they will love you forever.
When Remiel returned home, he wouldn't tell Odette what he'd seen no matter how much she begged. He never told anyone.
As he's grown into a handsome and intelligent young man in a kingdom searching for peace, Remiel has come to realize that everything is not as it seems with his father and the Royal Advisors. Is it just paranoia? Or is something seriously wrong with the kingdom of Muriel?
