Nambulite had more time than before to pound the pavement in search of chumps to drain for his quota, and so his free time was spent doing just that. He was doing decently tonight, he figured; sometimes he just needed to "accidentally" bump into someone and he could swipe a bit of energy.

Curiously, it felt like there was another Negaverse agent of some sort a few blocks away, perhaps on the other side of the row of buildings he was walking along. Finding an alleyway that would take him to the other side, he skittered along through it, hoping the aura he felt would get closer. "Olly olly oxen free!" he called out to grab the other's attention. At this point, it occurred to him that the aura wasn't quite like a Negaverse agent's- in face, it probably belonged to a Corrupt Senshi. What an interesting twist. He hadn't seen many in his time in the Negaverse, so this would be a meeting that had his attention.

"Hmmm..." Calaverite let out a low sound of contemplation as he sat on the sidewalk and rummaged through the stolen purse of one of the night's victims. It had been a younger woman, average in almost every way, and out alone of all things. 'Alone' seemed to be the types of targets Cala's general preferred he engaged, though Calaverite still didn't understand why. Even a small cluster of civilians couldn't outrun him or out-strength him!

But whatever. If he wanted to do a good job, he had to do what his general said, apparently.

But nobody had said he couldn't take their stuff once he was done draining them. And so, he had. This woman didn't seem to have anything of interest, though. There was the usual: phone, keys, wallet. Things of no use to Cala. The phone had a stupid password on it, so he couldn't get into it. The keys were all to things he didn't have. And who needed money when he could just take what he wanted? All trash.

There were a couple waded receipts, a bottle of pills, a pack of gum, a hairbrush, a small makeup compact. Cala could at least do something with some of these things. Maybe the pills would have an interesting effect, and he'd never gotten to try make up, before...

Before he could think on it too long, his head whipped up at the sound of a nearby call. Someone was near. Calaverite quickly crammed his findings back into the purse and slung it up over his shoulder as he stood and moved to hunt the stranger. He couldn't be bothered to pause and sense and decipher auras. Cala didn't have the patience, but he did have eyes that served him well enough, and it only took a second to spot the dark-clad figure approaching from the alley.

His instinct was not one of kindness. His body stiffened, and he angled himself in such a way to be protective over his recent acquisitions. "What do you want?" He demanded, long hair spilling forward as he tucked his head to shoot a glare at the other... girl?

The androgynous corrupt in front of him seemed less than happy at being disturbed. Nambulite wasn't the type to just back off when he'd found something or someone interesting, however, so he simply chuckled and took another step forward. "I don't know, what do you want?" He studied the Corrupt some more, cupping his chin, before looking at the purse. "Nice bag. Gift from the girlfriend? The boyfriend? The... enbyfriend?" Far be it from Nambulite to leave out all possible options.

Grinning and shrugging, he shifted topics. "Oh, I'm just going around, doing my thing. Collecting energy for the higher-ups. Sniffing for senshi to mess with. Looks like I found one, though I wasn't expecting to see a Corrupt here." He probably wouldn't mess with this Corrupt too badly; rather, he was just curious.

"You don't know what you want?" Calaverite demanded suspiciously, his dark eyes narrowing into a disbelieving squint. Sounded ridiculous. Why would anyone do anything if not to get something they wanted? Cala wanted so many things; it was hard to even sit still. Like that lady's purse and the then-unknown treasures that hid inside. Even if it wasn't all he'd hoped it would be now that he had it, Cala couldn't say he was displeased to have taken it. Just to see.

He slung the bag over his shoulder, using two crooked fingers to hold it in place. "I wanted you not to bother me," he admitted shamelessly. The thought of someone taking something from him was among Calaverite's least favorite thoughts, and he couldn't help but assume that anyone approaching him after a theft probably wanted what he'd stolen.

But the agent, while suspicious, didn't try to convince him to give anything back or try to take it from him. Cala remained on-guard, but otherwise not-immediately-hostile.

"But other things too. I guess I like jewelry and kitties and candy. I want those things. And sometimes stuff I didn't know I wanted. And Legos. I like Legos." He gave his arm a shake so that the contents of the purse at his back rattled. "This came offa one of the ladies I drained. She didn't have very much, though." It didn't dampen his enthusiasm for next time. Maybe one day he'd find something really good.

It had somehow happened that Cala hadn't ever seen another agent in Destiny City out doing Negaverse work. There'd been Ashanite, who only showed up to tell Cala off. And Sapphirine, who'd only powered up while Cala was trying to pull her starseed... But for the most part, he only saw agents while in Negaspace, and they weren't typically draining people there.

He tipped his head, inky hair spilling around his shoulders in a brisk wave. "Do you like it?"

He couldn't get over how mad everyone seemed to be. His superiors were often impatient and snappy with him, and he'd never even seen anyone doing their job! How could that be? He loved being Calaverite. Why didn't anyone else feel like that?
