Tolin Kalin I accidentally watched Tiger King, so this is forever Here Kitty Kitty now. There hadn't ever been a phase of uncertainty or concern. Ivory had only had to hear a talking kitty to be excited and enthralled and eager. So odd! So new. So wondrous! Though, he had been slightly annoyed to discover that this particular kitty had much more luck escaping him than most normal kitties would, but in the end, he supposed it was a fair trade off. Even if he only got a few minutes with kitty and his special royal friend, he was still granted an alleged lifetime of magical darkness powers. And with the magical darkness powers came a place of his own to stay at night and the ability to do whatever he wanted to whoever he wanted. And he didn't even need permission to roam freely!
...Mostly.
Calaverite still couldn't get in and out of Negaspace on his own, but all he had to do was call an available general and ask to go to the city or to return home, and he would be allowed to do just that. He wasn't very accustomed to being allowed to do things... It pleased him. It pleased him more still that Calaverite could deal with any trouble he encountered in Destiny City much better than Ivory could.
Ivory was skinny and weak and frail. He couldn't outrun people who chased him, and he couldn't hit very hard when he was caught. But Calaverite did not have these struggles. Calaverite barely had to even try to outrun civilians. And when they were especially annoying, all he had to do was yoink their starseeds to get rid of them!
He liked being Calaverite.
He liked being in Negaspace.
There were so many new areas to explore now! He couldn't think of a single thing he wished was different. ...Except that maybe he would've liked to be able to go into the Rift one day. The Hall of Shadows taunted him every time he entered the castle... But it was fine. There was enough to do for now.
Calaverite strolled through the castle now, peeking through open doors at the office spaces for generals, the computer labs for agent use, libraries of information. It was a bit what Cala expected school was like: rooms of learning and information. But what he really wanted to see was the kitty room. It was around here in the castle somewhere, and he imagined it being like a cat cafe. A big area with lots of fluffy friends mulling about waiting to be taken home...

As it turned out, Chip had chosen an underused store room fairly close to where officers frequented to set up his "operation." It was, perhaps, not as one would imagine for a kitty room, given the first thing one was bound to notice upon entering was a large abundance of moving machinery. Pistons pumping, gears churning, glass pipes with liquids bubbling through. And, curiously, a faint smell of coffee. Overall, it was surprisingly quiet in the room for how much stuff there was moving around, though by no means silent. Really, it wasn't immediately obvious that this was a cat's space, except for the fact that sitting on a little stand to one side of the room was what appeared to be a small flying saucer with controls on top that could only really be managed by a cat. Oh yeah, and the fat that there was a certain tiny kitty tail sticking out of an open panel on the machinery pressed to one side of the room, and the sound of his little voice humming happily as the tail flicked in time to whatever tuneless music he was humming. EchosSweet Due to meta considerations, this would actually have to have taken place last week, as Chip is currently not in Negaspace, and...not actually a cat. But that's ok.

Calaverite wanted to see Kitty Headquarters. Even with the entire new dimension to explore, there were still places he wasn't allowed, or places he couldn't access. The Rift, sure. This defunct old academy building out in Negaspace, sure, he guessed? But Kitty Headquarters didn't seem as necessary for him to be kept out of. He was a senshi, and kitties helped senshi! They should be pleased he wanted to see their areas...
But, it didn't matter how it should be. The fact of the matter was that he couldn't get into Kitty Headquarters without a kitty guide and kitty permission. And the castle was so big he couldn't even find the place to try and convince a kitty to let him in.
Calaverite tried not to sulk as he scuffed his boot along the concrete floor of the castle. He didn't mind wandering, and he didn't mind not knowing where everything was, or how to get into it, but he'd thought for sure if he tried hard enough, there wouldn't be much he couldn't figure out or couldn't find or couldn't get into. 'Next time,' he told himself assuredly. And if not then, than next-next time. He could go back to his room for now, or find a general who could leave him in DC to pillage some food from the grocery store.
He gave pause in his stride to stand at a door emitting the quiet hum of working machinery. Cala didn't care for machines and electronics, so paid them no mind, but a tail waved out one of the hatch doors, and his face immediately split into a wide, toothy grin. "Hi, Chip," Calaverite called into the room.

At the sound of his voice, Chip's tail disappeared from sight to be replaced by his tiny head, with a pair of goggles down over his kitty face. "Oh hey! Hiya, Wolf!" he declared after a moment, choosing to use the senshi name instead of negaverse one--he knew it, so he said it. "What brings you here~?" He stepped out of the tangle of gears he was mired in. "Come to help me build something? Get cool toys? Be my highly skilled volunteer test subject?" Chip hopped up on a box nearby to pose stylishly as he spoke, and to regard his senshi visitor.

"I don't know," Calaverite retorted with a shrug at the Mauvian's question. He folded his arms behind himself and strode into the room, giving pause only to inspect any clumps of wires that might be of interest. They weren't to him, but better to keep his focus nonchalantly off Chip. "I can't leave Negaspace on my own, so I thought I'd explore the castle while I waited for a general to have enough time to take me back to DC."
He twirled a long, inky strand of hair around his finger. "Someone told me the cats have their own room in the castle where they work on things. A Mauvian headquarters. I wanted to see if I could find it... Just so I'd know where it was if I needed a cat for something."
He scuffed his foot dejectedly and sighed dramatically. "But I don't know where to look, and you can't get in without a Mauvian, anyway... I just wanted to see all the kitties."

Chip nodded at the exploration. An excellent choice that he liked to partake in...now and then. Overall, it seemed most things in the room operated on well oiled gears and pistons. Chip clearly had an aesthetic. There were a few obviously electronic things, though. There were wires sticking out of an open panel of the little flying saucer, and there was some sort of crystal thing wedged into the ceiling in roughly the center of the room, with a series of wires trailing along the ceiling and down the walls. "Yup, we sure do!" he said with a nod. "It's pretty boring, though, and there's not usually many mauvians around. Maybe Haymitch and Obbie..." He rocked his head from side to side, as a sort of shrug. "I like to build my own space without building on top of what anyone else is doing, so I stick with being here. If ya ever need a mauvian, I'm your cat!"

It wasn't. What he wanted. The dejected facade turned into a strained smile, lips stretching over Cala's teeth in a way that almost enunciated the tight pinch of his jaw. He'd already had Chip. This was the kitty that had been there to help corrupt him and tell him his name and give him his pen and summon Hessonite to bring him to Negaspace. Calaverite didn't need to find Chip because he was already here! He'd already been found.
He wanted to find other kitties to hold and pet and smoosh, and if Cala knew where they gathered, he could find new kitties all the time!
Since he couldn't just be in Destiny City whenever he wanted to chase the animals that lived there, anymore, he had to accept the extremely limited creatures of Negaspace. Excluding youma. Which apparently wanted to kill him for some reason. He wanted. To go. To the kitty room, not be in a smelly workshop! He could decide for himself if it was boring or not, and see with his own eyes which cute kitties were rolling around.
Calaverite tromped over to where Chip worked, throwing out an arm to snatch at the kitten's body as he demanded, "I want to go to the Mauvian Headquarters now."

Chip would've taken offense to his workshop being called smelly, if it'd been said aloud. Luckily, it wasn't, so he just tilted his head quizzically at the senshi a moment as he dangled before replying, "Oh, sure, I can show ya where it is...but you won't be able to go in if I'm not there to bring you in later. Not that there's, you know, all that much to see." "Other than the door, I guess," he added. "Now put me on your shoulder and I'll guide you there!" His little paws flailed a bit as he said that.

Chip was one of the tiniest things Calaverite had ever successfully held in his grasp. There had been a couple other things, sure, like the rat he'd caught at the institute, or the baby bird he'd found in the park once. But they tended to either not be thrilled about his presence and escaped quickly, or they just didn't last very long. Most of them weren't very good at communicating in more than shrieks, either...
They were all very disagreeable in general.
But when Chip said he'd take him to Mauvian headquarters and advised that Cala carry him there, the senshi's eyes popped wide in surprise. "You... will take me?" He prompted, brown furrowing in confusion. He'd certainly expected Chip would refuse, or try and scratch him or bite him- And then kitty would run, and Calaverite would have to chase, and it could all be very tiresome.
He beamed in the next second, tugging the Mauvian close to his chest and smothering him in a cocoon of arms. "Oh, I'm so happy!" He crowed, before loosening his grip on Chip enough to give him an encouraging boost up to Cala's shoulder. "Okay, let's go! I'm so excited! I can't want to see!" He spun around in a whirlwind of dark hair and flung himself from the room and out into the hall. He knew where he should head, it just happened that since he couldn't get in without a Mauvian, he'd never seen inside their headquarters before.
