It is a nice sunny day in the Homewood. the bird woke happily singing their good morning song. Dakotah woke form restless nights sleep. Growling at the birds singing and the sun shining in his eyes he knew there would be no going back to sleep now. Not that he wanted to. He had been dreaming a dream better left in the past but for some reason it kept finding its way back into his mind. Grumpily he stretcher out of the soft grassy nest Calelha had made for him the night before. That noul was sweet but he would not tell her that.

He headed out for a drink by the small stream not far form the den. Ever since the owl stole his tree he had been staying with Calelha. She had told him he could stay as long as he like but he really did not want to stick around, it had already been a month now. As he pasted a blackberry bush he wondered if Calelha would like some berries for later. "Ugh yep it is time to move out for sure." He said out loud to himself. He did not need to be worrying about some noul and what she might like to eat. With that thought he started greedily eating the juicy berries.

Dakotah jumped out of skin with fair. "What the Great Tree!?!" he hollered a the sound of a voice behind him. He had been so in his own head that he had not even heard anyone approach.

Turning around he seen that the voice had come form another scuttle. "Don't you know it is rude to snick up on a person?" he snapped has he painted for air with the adrenaline form fear runs through him. Calming some he looks at the scuttle scale in front of him. "Oh it is a girl scuttle." he eyes her with a mixture of emotions.

"What are you doing out here? Besides scaring the life out of me?" he grumbles at her. "You should be nicer. She is pretty." His inner self chimes at him but he choices to ignore it for the moment.

Dakotah wiped at his mouth in embarrassment and frustration. "Darn berries." He grumbled as if it was the berries fault and not his own messiness.

"Sunning huh." He said will looking at the rock she had indicated to. But he did not much care what she had been doing. "You still should snick up on other." he said will a little less conviction and grouch then before. It was hard to be grumpy at her when she had not even grumbled back at him.

"So your noul as abounded you with it goes a grows up with out you huh?" He asked not really asking but he was not sure what else to say. As he looked at the scuttle before him he could not help but think she was one of the most if no the most beautiful scuttle he had ever seen. At that thought something deep down stirred in him that had been long since gone but he mentally shoved that back in a box.

Grumbling more inaudible noise he began walking back to the river. He still need to get a drink and clearly his face had berry juice all over it now. "Which this female so kindly pointed out." he grumbled in his head.

Dakotah walked over to wash his face off with the cool stream waters. As he look up and around, he was feeling kind of ashamed of his own behavior towards the female scuttle. Why he cared all of the sudden was beyond him though. "Maybe you like how she is not blinking to your grumble mean self." His muse glared at him. Think of Calelha and knowing she would not have like his behavior either. "Fine Fine Fine." He grumbles at himself and he frustrating turned back the female scuttle.

Clearing his voice before speaking he mumbled. "I am sorry I guess I might have over reacted and been a little tough on you." But in a rush he adds "But it is still not nice to scare others." Satisficed with his apology he decide he might as will introduce himself too. That way when he did see Calelha again he can tell her he meet another scuttle. "That would make her happy." His muse grinned and winked at him knowing he cared more about the noul then he was ready to let on. "Oh you hush up." He told himself.

In a grumble he said "My name is Dakotah."

Dakotah was begining to feel quite embarrassed about his normal grumpy self. This female had not lashed back at him or even been rude, even though he more then deserved anything she spat at him. No she had simply stated on improving herself. "How strange." He thought to himself.

Dakotah watched as she breathed in a big breath as if to settle herself but she did not look to be effected by him at all. It reminded him of a long deep forgot memory that he could only just recall as a feeling anymore. A feeling of peace and warmth given by someone else. But it was only a feeling.

Sighing at his own personal walls, he decided that maybe just maybe he could get to know this scuttle. Maybe she was ok to get to know? Maybe she won't hurt him?

"So where you from?" It was a dumb question really but he was no good at this small talk cramp and at least he was trying. His tone was less grumpy to which sounded strange even to him but he was an all or nothing kinda scuttle and if he was going to be nice he might as well be nice.
