It had been some time since Paracelsian had donned his Captain's garb. Part of it was due to a particularly obnoxious family matter, but the rest was due to needing to process his upgrade and meeting with General-Queen Hessonite. He probably should have just used his momentum to keep going, but he really did need to take a moment to settle himself after all that had happened. Now he figured that he had taken a few too many moments, perhaps. He really needed to get back out there and get on top of being a Captain. There were bound to be Lieutenants awakened in his absence that needed guiding, and he could start steering them towards the "more reasonable Negaverse" he had dreamed of. In fact, there was a Lieutenant right over there, somewhere near a plain alleyway. Raising a hand in greeting, Captain Paracelsian approached Lieutenant Ekanite. "Greetings, Lieutenant."

Ekanite turned when he heard a voice approaching him, quickly sending his weapons back to their subspace pocket to keep from revealing what he had been working on while thinking himself completely alone. Not easily embarrassed, he simply assumed the Captain had not seen him posing in awesome, threatening ways with his drumstick weapons, grinning and waving in response. "Hello, there! You're a Captain, right? Stronger than me, I can tell, but not quite at Boss's level. Ha! I'm getting better with this energy sensing thing! It's so cool, it's like feeling our power levels. Oh. Er. Uh. Sorry, I get excited about dumb stuff sometimes." Mostly all the time, in fact. "My name is Ekanite!" He offered his hand to the Captain and continued to grin in an easy going, cheesy way. He wanted to make friends in the Negaverse, even if Painite warned him against getting too familiar with anyone. Trust was easily broken, and should be guarded before handed out, she told him.

Paracelsian couldn't help but give an uneasy smile behind his scarf. This lieutenant was so enthusiastic that he felt energized just hearing him go on. He was so fresh and so fascinated by his discoveries in the powered world, and it made the Captain feel a bit sad, too. How long would this Lieutenant stay buzzing with energy and zest before the truth of the world wore him down? "Yes, that's right. Captain Paracelsian. It's good to hear that you're getting a hang of feeling others, but don't forget that others can feel you, too." With a soft chuckle, he accepted Ekanite's handshake. "Seeing someone handle their Negaverse duties with enthusiasm is refreshing. Tell me, who is your 'Boss?'" He found himself wondering whether this Lieutenant's General instilled enthusiasm in him, or if he was just naturally zealous.

Ekanite nodded his head. He did sometimes forget that part, though he was trying his best to work on it. He was just easily distracted and that allowed folks with auras to get close to him before he really figured out they were there, when probably he should have been able to sense them from much farther off. Unless it was someone really strong, like Boss or the knight she had showed him once. If something ever happens to me, you go to him. The idea made him uncomfortable. She was all he had now, after all, and she was the reason he was alive. She always seemed worried about something, though, and she showed him where to find that powerful knight without actually introducing them. It was all very strange. "Uh. General Painite," he said, "she saved me from a monster. And I'm going to do my best to make her proud, so I gotta do my best! Though I do need a lot of help. Learning the rules about all this stuff is a lot harder than a card game or something. Even with all the lessons, when I run into a Senshi I can't really figure out how to approach them. Most of the time they just seem like they want to talk."

Upon hearing the General's name, Paracelsian could only give a grave nod. He thought he'd heard that name before, and he didn't get a good feeling about it. General Painite seemed like one of those names to run away from very fast. "Your loyalty is commendable. I'd like you to know that, as a captain, I am a resource, too. If you have any questions, feel free to ask." The expression of a struggle with learning the "rules" of the Negaverse was expected. Once upon a time, before his revelation, Paracelsian had struggled with that as well. However, the mention of being unsure of what to do with a senshi presented an opportunity. "So, most of the senshi you've encountered are talkers, hmm?" He arched an eyebrow, mulling over his agenda. "Tell me this. What has your general told you to do, and what do you actually do when faced with a senshi? This is an important distinction." If Ekanite was willing to talk as well, then that was a good sign.
