Onora moved her hands swiftly through her kitchen, looking for a specific spice to add to her shellfish dish that was finishing being made in her large pot. She looked at each jar until she found the small red pepper she was looking for. She snagged one out of the container and quickly crushed it before dropping the now paste into the waiting broth. Wiping her hand on her face, she gave a large grin as her food was done.
She instantly began grabbing some of her clay bowls and tied everything in a thick cloth for traveling. even though she wasn't moving it very far, she wanted to make sure none spilled. Moving slowly through her home, she exited and moved the the small fire pit she had previously made for when she shares her foods and after getting a small smolder, she placed the pot on top to keep warm. This would be the last time she planned on sharing her meal here, ready to start her journey though the settlements into Sauti, and she wanted to make sure it was the best food for her friends and townspeople. She waved her spoon, as it almost felt like a tradition from when she would watch her father make food for others and with a smile shouted out, "Come on and eat! It's my last meal here for quite some time and I can't finish it all! She ended with a hearty chuckle. A couple of the older folk came over as they normally did and she began providing helpings, glad her food always brought people together.

At the time that Onora came out with her pot and set things about, Brexxa and her dad were walking past. As the woman called out for others to join her and eat up the little matorian looked up at Gael to see if he was seeing what she was seeing. It was a bit strange for her to see. She wasn't from the immediate area though, so she didn't know people were this kind.
When she brought her gaze back to the woman she smiled, moving slightly so that she could cling to the cloth that always hung from her dad's pants. It was her comfort and reassurance that he was there.
Before they could walk all the way past she pointed toward Onora and her food. "Can we join them?" Was that allowed? Was it reserved for certain people? She looked up once more at her dad, this time with a curious look. "I wanna eat some too."

Gael would notice Onora setting up just as his daughter did and he'd offer a smile to the woman. It wasn't until he heard her call out that he knew what it was she was up to and that made his small smile widen a little. A true neighbor. When Brexxa looked up at him he looked down at her, but she said nothing at first so he left it alone. Only when he heard his little girl ask if they could join them did he slow his walk even farther so he could answer her. "We can go ask, if you'd like to." He nodded with his head to indicate that Brexxa should speak to the lady with the spoon. Hearing her say she wanted to eat too made him chuckle a bit before he adjusted his course and headed toward Onora with his little girl clinging to him. Looking at Onora he motioned to Brexxa. "Would it be alright if my daughter joined you?" While he wasn't hungry he would join everyone as well since he wasn't about to just drop his kid off and walk away. - Gael post 1

Onora saw Gael and Brexxa approach her, the young child questioning if she could join in eating her food and the small festivities that were occurring. Onora gave a smile to Gael first and then bent lower so she was eyesight with Brexxa. "Of course she can. I made way too much anyways She said with a warm smile.
After standing back to her full height, she looked back at the gentleman in front of her. Would you like some as well? Nothing too fancy today though." She said placing the spoon in the pot and giving it a small turn. She slowly scooped the stew into one of the clay pots she had brought out, and handed it to the small girl. "Here you go ma'am. Let me know if it needs anything" She said handing the warm food over.

She still clung to the cloth at Gael's side as Onora came down to her level. Cutely she shied away from the woman, half hiding behind her dad's leg.
As the woman straightened up she came back out and looked on curiously. Brexxa got up on her tip toes to look into the pot as it was stirred. Had licked her lips as she tried to guess at what it was that was inside. It smelled delicious, whatever it was. Her stomach spoke up for her, giving a little gurgle in response to the scent of food.
With the bowl handed over she let go of Gael and quickly took hold of the clay dish. "Th-thank you." She instantly looked up at her dad with a grin to show him what she'd gotten. That done she gave her attention back to her newly acquired food and started to eat. Mmm.

Gael smiled at her and nodded. "Thank you for that." He was grateful that the woman had said Brex could join. Even more so when she spooned out a portion for her and handed it over. "Ah, none for me, thanks." He waved off the offer with one hand gently, grinning down at his daughter as she showed enthusiasm for the food. When he brought his gaze back up to Onora he pointed at the pot. "I take it you do this often? I noticed the others came over right away and I heard you say its the last one for a while." He was curious to know just how often this beautiful woman cooked for others. - Gael Post 2

Onora's heart swelled when she head the young child enjoy her food. She always loved when others enjoyed what her family taught her. "You are quite welcome!" She said with a warm smile.
When Onora heard Gael ask if she did this often, her cheeks turned slightly pink. His voice was soft, and held such warm tones. She quickly shook her thoughts away and slightly laughed. "Yes, I've been doing this for a couple of years now, when I returned home from Oba." She said before continuing, "But I was thinking of doing some travelling to find new foods and spices to use, so I wanted to make sure I made this last stew." She said as her hands passed another full bowl to the next Elder in the area.

As the adults talked she busied herself with eating, her eyes going to her surroundings. Whatever it was they were saying was of no interest to her she was sure. Instead she seemed more interested in the fact that so many people had come to taste the food. It made Brexxa wonder if they were friends of the lady. Or perhaps family?
Her mind quickly went into trying to figure out what it would be like to have such a large family. It was something beyond her scope since her family unit consisted of herself, her little brother, and their dad.

"Years?" His brows rose at that. Gael had to admire the dedication. Likely she had been doing it while he had been a captive in Oba himself. It would explain why he never caught the meals before. "That is impressive." With the further explanation about how she wanted to travel to find new foods and spices he gave a thoughtful look and nodded. It made sense. Wanting to expand one's knowledge was always good. "Which direction were you thinking of heading? I'm sure each area has their own taste and spices to offer. Have to admit I've always wondered what the Zenan's ate. Can't be much up in those mountains." He grinned at the thought. What passed as spices in the snow? - Gael Post 3

Onora nodded. "I've been back home for about 3 years, and have been serving for almost just as long. Though I don't mind, I love seeing others enjoy my meals." She said as she looked to Brexxa with a smile.
A hearty laugh rumbled through Onora's chest as she imagined what could be used in the mountain ranges. "I actually haven't thought about what would be used there!" She said wiping a small tear from her eye.
After collecting herself she shook her head. "I wasn't thinking of freezing myself just yet, so was going to travel to Sauti first. See what the Wind settlements have to offer. Though who knows I might end up in the frigid north still." She said with another laugh.
A couple more bowls were served and soon the whole area was eating the warm thick stew, with small chatter in between bites. Onora made herself a small bowl as well before taking a small bite. A soft sigh escaped as she enjoyed her own food. She didn't realize it until just then that she had cooked this all day yet never ate anything herself, being too focused in her goal. She nodded her head back to her home and grinned after clearing her throat. "I am going to come sit in the shade over there. Would you two care to keep me company?"

Brexxa didn't seem to be paying much attention to the conversation. Instead she was busy moving her spoon through the stew, looking at the different ingredients that were in it before picking out her favorites and eating them first. She made exaggerated noises for each bite and even did the 'nom nom nom' sound when she found something she particularly liked.
When Onora asked if they wanted to keep her company, the little girl's attention seemed to come back around to her. She blinked once then looked at her dad, a small nod being given.

"And I thought cooking for me and the kids was hard." He chuckled. He was impressed though. For someone to have enough dedication to something like that was something he couldn't do. There were days when he would look at the cooking fire with a cringe. "Ah, Sauti should have some good stuff I'm sure. I think I heard somewhere that the wind people tend to trade quite a bit so they may have spices from all over anyways." If they truly lived as nomads then it was very likely. When she got her own bowl and started to eat he smiled at her. Gael noticed the sigh and had to wonder if she'd waited to feed herself last. A small, amused shake of his head happened but it quickly turned to a nod when she asked if they wanted to keep her company. "Sure, we've got time and Brexxa hasn't finished yet." He moved a hand up to rest on the top of his daughter's head.

Onora laughed at Gael joking about himself. She listened to him then explain Sauti having a large Trading community and she smiled. "Oh that would be perfect then." She said before walking with them to the shaded area.
When they got to their small destination, Onora sat down on her skirt, making a small 'oof' grunt. She turned to Brexxa and while taking another spoonful, grinned. "I don't like to brag but it's pretty good, ain't it?" She said with a laugh. Her eyes went to Gael once more and she wondered if they had travelled as he seemed much more knowledgeable on the adjoining countries. "Have you and your daughter here ever do some travelling? I've stayed home since coming back from Oba, but I'm sure there is quite the wonders away from the water." She said before eating some more.

While she seemed to only be half paying attention to the conversation she was aware enough when Onora asked her a question. She blinked and looked up at her, mid-bite and mouth hanging open, then nodded and smiled. "Mhm!" After giving her answer she stuffed another spoonful into her mouth. Brexxa started to sway from side to side as she enjoyed the food clearly more than content to simply stuff her face.
The mention of traveling made her look from her bowl to the woman to her dad for a second. Her dad traveled but he never took her with him. She finished the bite in her mouth then slowly took another one but let the spoon linger in her mouth for a minute.

Gael seemed to like his daughter enjoyed the food. At least she didn't complain about the taste like she did with his cooking some days. The woman asking him about travel brought his gaze away from his little girl. A hand came up to scratch at his beard slightly, a somewhat guilty look forming in his eyes. "I uh.. I travel for work. I don't take Brexxa with me. She's too young to take on ships for long periods of time." His hand went from his beard to the back of his neck then. "She stays with my brother when I go." And Gael did feel guilty for leaving so much but when he came home he tried to make up for it. He noticed that Brexxa had been staring at him while he spoke and he chuckled. "I know kiddo, you don't like it." He moved forward and put his hand on her head so that he could ruffle her short hair. With that bit of teasing done he looked at Onora again. "Oba huh? I was there for a while.. against my will at first." Though that had turned into something else. There were scars on his torso that were very visible since he wore no shirt. Absently he moved his hand to touch at them as his brow furrowed slightly. "I'm not fond of Oba, but my time there taught me a few things."
