It had all been a bit of a whirlwind of choices, talks, and he hadn't forgotten Gabriel - how could he? But rather Xi-Wang had gotten caught up in helping his friend, who also happen to be his ex, and talking to his father and trying to work it all out. It was...a lot...more than he'd ever handled and it felt a bit drowning.
But as he and Caleb had set out to look at the first apartment Xi-Wang finally sent out a text to Gabriel. He knew it wasn't proper, they needed to talk in person, but he finally had time to breath and not worry and plan and talk...and he had time to think and text.
Gab...are you busy? I'm out right now doing some shopping and I should have said something sooner - I'm sorry. My ex though....he needs some help, he's in a bad place, I just found out. And - and I sort of...came up with the idea of moving out of where I am now and getting a big apartment for us and for Caleb to live as well - as a friend. I just...he has no where to go - he was living in a hotel. And he's just a friend, we're working on that, but I can't let him live like that - that's not really living. And I feel bad...he lost his boyfriend as well.
I swear we'll talk - we need to - I was just busy the last two or three days with this and I haven't had time...and I know it's not an excuse...but it's true. And I jumped into the decision. I want you to help us decorating and I want you to move in - he knows we're dating. He knows theirs no chance between him and I - it'll always be you and me. I just...I can't see him like he is.
Can we talk in person? Once this appointment with a realtor is over - please.
The message was sent and all he could do was cross his fingers and hope for the best...he needed Gabriel to understand and to believe him - because it was true.
