With her dad out at work she was left in the care of his familiar, a Zanteer by the name of Bastul. Brexxa didn't mind, she actually liked the beast and he didn't get in the way too much of her playing. Like now.. she lay on the sands of the beach, belly flat on the ground with her legs bent so that her feet were in the air behind her as she poked at two crabs with a stick.

The crabs were lethargic at the moment, doing nothing more than moving their arms when poked. They didn't scamper away or try to attack like normal. That was what had her attention so captured. Brexxa was used to them running to fighting not simply taking it laying down. It brought a smile to her face, however, to be able to see them up close. Every once in a while she'd giggle at them, swing her legs behind her, or look over at Bastul to see if he was still sunbathing.

The Boy caught the Zanteer's attention and it moved a little so that it was no longer laying on its side but was on its stomach and staring. The beast didn't growl or make a move other than that, however.

Brexxa noticed Bastul moving and so she looked at him, but as she noticed he was focused on something else she turned her head. That was about the time she heard the question about how she got the crabs to behave as they were. Blinking up at the person she stilled her swinging legs and lifted her shoulders up a little. "I didn't do anything." She'd found it odd as well but who was she to complain when they were doing something so cool.

"I think they are just tired." Normally she wouldn't talk to people outside the family but Brex was older now, nearing her teens, so she didn't feel as shy as before.

"Breeding... season?" Brexxa looked at him oddly as he picked one of the crabs up. It wasn't until he mentioned laying eggs that she understood. It showed on her face as she went from confused to some realization. "Oh.. that." The girl nodded her head slightly.

As he sat down and started to scoop the sand she lowered her head to her one hand while the other poked at the crab with the stick again. When it didn't move she looked over at the boy. "Don't all living things have thoughts?" Brex certainly thought so. After all, some animals just had personalities that made it too hard to believe they didn't think about doing something first. Like her dad's Zanteer. He was a goofball and a half when he wanted to be. Though right now he was being lazy. She looked over at Bastul again and raised a brow at him.

The beast yawned, making it dramatic and overplayed, before licking his jowls and turning his head to look away from the two.

It was true that one couldn't really ask and get an answer. Of course it made her look toward the Zanteer again, this time lifting up so that she could get a better look at him. "Bastul..you have thoughts, don't you boy." She called out to him.

Hearing his name made the beast turn to look at her but other than that he did nothing.

Brexxa looked at the boy as he introduced himself as Rydandaroch. It was a mouthful. One that actually had her moving her lips to try and repeat it under her breath. Finally she offered him a slight smile. "I'm Brexxa." His other question, about where she would like to visit made her look to the ocean. As waves came bubbling in she lowered back down into the sands. "I'd like to go where my dad goes. He leaves on a ship all the time. I get lonely when he leaves."

Brexxa nodded her head a little. She knew her dad had to miss her when he went out on the waters for a long time. It didn't really help in the moment but she guessed it was at least something.

When asked if she had given thought to what it was she wanted to be she shrugged slightly. In truth she'd never spared more than a second on it. Her future wasn't something she was too concerned with. Now that Gael had taken her in things were pretty easy. She had a bed. Food. Clothes. Dolls. And a great dad. Not to mention a family pet. Brex looked over at the Zanteer then.

"Never really thought about it." Now she poked the stick into the sand. "What about you? You don't look like the fisherman type. And you're not as big as my dad."

She gave a smile at that. He was right, he was younger than her dad. By a lot. So Brexxa gave a nod of her head. "You have a point.." Still, she couldn't help but notice the boy didn't have the same body build as her dad. Or was that because he was still young?

"My dad is a fisherman and he repairs the nets on a ship but he also trains really hard when he's home. Has a shield and everything," So in her eyes her dad did all kinds of things. Brex couldn't pin down what it was he did exactly. Her little shoulders lifted up and she looked at the sand as she drew swirls in it with her stick. "I don't know about magic. I don't think I can use any."

As she brought her orange gaze back up to Rydandaroch she took in his appearance again. He seemed kinda magical in looks. It was like he was a soft, cold colored sprite or something. "You look magical. Kinda like a cool night's breeze with your colors. It's very pretty."

"I think being trained to use magic when you can't do it on your own would be hard." Almost like trying to teach someone who had never seen a large body of water a day in their life to swim. If it wasn't within them to begin with then it would be hard to teach. His compliment made her blush. "T-Thank you.."

Her head lowered a little as he mentioned what his parents did. "I don't have a mother so.. I'm not sure if magic runs in my family." Brexxa knew that she'd had a mother at one point, otherwise how would she be there, but right now her family was her and her dad. And she was alright with that.

She shook her head slightly and moved so that she could sit up rather than lay flat on her stomach. "Nah, I don't want to use magic." Brexxa had no desire to play with the magical arts nor did she want to do anything physical like her dad did. "I like finding things." Collecting shells was a favorite of hers.

The girl brushed sand off her chest then looked at the boy. "You look like you'd be really good with a bow." There wasn't much to really hunt around the beach with a bow but if he went into the trees he could find plenty. "Are you stealthy?" Maybe he could sneak up on things.
