Aeuri and his siblings had traveled a long distance from home, having taken the road out of Oba and toward the north. It had been a long time since he left the sands of his home, and already Aeuri felt the sticky sweat that came with the jungles of Jauhar. He had recommended they take a few days to rest in Neued to re-stock their supplies and explore the area. His siblings wanted to stay longer, and who was he to refuse? They had enough gold to barter and were able to find a quiet inn. Now, they were exploring to get a sense of the culture, to purchase any small items they wanted to take with them, and to meet new faces.
Aeuri had to remind them that if they saw something bigger, they could always ship it home or grab it on their way back. For now, they knew to pack light because they still had a whole continent to travel before crossing the sea to Belrea.
With that thought in mind, Aeuri made his way to the market. He wanted to see what healers were in the area, potentially to find one to learn a bit from before he left. If he was lucky, maybe he could find some scrolls to study. Or maybe he would just find a trinket to send back home to his mother. There were a lot of possibilities and Aeuri was feeling optimistic based on their successes so far in their journey.

Masika had back tracked a little since she'd arrived in Jauhar nut it wasn't a bad thing. Being in Neued meant that she could find Oban traders and along with them Oban goods. It was what she was used to. Her own home was in Oba, or had been before she'd taken off an an adventure of her own to find her mother.
Now she was walking through the market, one hand holding the skirts of her dress up just a little so she could move easier. After so long she dress was a bit shabby and so she figured it was time for something new. Of course she had her eyes on the Oban styles. Masika was more shy than most and covered a good bit of her skin, even if it was impossibly hot. As she browsed she came across a vendor who seemed to have a rather cute looking dress that caught her eye. Moving closer she couldn't help but smile a bit to herself.

He found the area where the clothing vendors had set up. There was only a handful but based on their calls for customers it felt like dozens. Their voices echoed around as they peddled their fabrics from Zena to Yael. The colors were bright, vibrant and overwhelming, and Aeuri waved more than one off as they tried to bring him in.
As he moved specifically to the warmer clothing from a Zenan vendor, his eyes caught a flash of blue. Matori blue. Curiosity led him to look away from the clothing before he saw Masika's dark hair. She was familiar, but he couldn't remember where he had seen her and if they had ever spoken before. Maybe it was in Oba when he was younger...she was a striking hybrid. He was sure she didn't dance at the Red, but that didn't mean she wasn't in town.
Walking up, he rubbed the back of his neck a moment before calling out, "Excuse me, miss. I don't normally walk up to strangers but I can't help but feel as if we've met before...maybe in Sulburi?"
Once she turned, he was sure he might recognize her moreso than just by her hair and skin tone.

'Excuse me miss...' Those words caught her attention. Masika blinked and looked up, first turning her head the wrong way before looking back toward Aeuri. She registered the rest of what he said and gave a rather confused look. Another second more and her look softened. "Oh.. Well, you do look familiar." If she had met the boy before she couldn't recall a name but his light colored hair and dark skin was a combination that she remembered. "I have a shop in Sulburi." Or had. It had been a while since she'd been back so it was likely closed down due to lack of attention. Something she'd have to fix eventually. "You'll have to forgive me. I can't seem to remember a name." Masika had enough manners to color lightly across the cheeks at her lapse in memory. It made her blue face look just the tiniest bit purple. When it came to details about a dress or certain fabrics she was usually spot on but when it came to people.. Well, unless she made clothing for them or they were family she tended to forget most things.

His nervous smile bloomed into a friendly, abit shy, one as she seemed to recognize him. Thank the gods, he didn't think he'd survive a blunder if it was someone else. She wasn't a dancer, which makes sense because he'd probably have known her a bit more. Maybe they crossed paths sometime in the marketplace? Aeuri felt a little bit of shame at not remembering more.
"Oh, my name is Aeuri. I'm from Sulburi...my mother owns the Red and my father is in the army...I'm sure it was the marketplace where we crossed paths. It's easy to stand out from the crowd..."
He chuckled at the joke, but knew the truth. Hybrids still were a bit of a touchy subject among the prideful Obans. It was partially why he decided to leave with his siblings.
"So do you have a shop here now?"

Aeuri. She tried to see if the name rung any bells but got quickly distracted when he mentioned the Red. Her eyes lit up and a bright smiled formed. "Does she really? The Red is well known." Masika knew of it because of the dresses. "Every seamstress in Sulburi tries to get a commission from there." Those dresses were widely seen and adored by everyone that went in. If you could display your talents on a dancer then it was likely that you could get wealthy commissions elsewhere. "It probably was the market. I go there a lot to buy materials." Fabrics, buttons, threading, even new scissors and needles from time to time. One dress had an order for sewn in pearls before. It had been a hassle to say the least. Her head shook slightly and she looked down with some embarrassment. "Ah no, no shop here. I came north to locate my mother. She was supposed to meet me around here somewhere." Masika was bad with directions though. If it was a new area or a place without clearly marked signs she was more apt to get lost than anything. "I take it you are traveling? Going anywhere in particular?"

Aeuri felt a blush at the conversation moving to dresses, out of his element and wishing his sisters would be around to deflect the conversation. Thankfully, Masika moved away from the conversation and back to the market, meaning he didn't need to stumble his way through fashion and fabrics.
But still, she spoke of materials, and Aeuri wondered if perhaps she might be someone who was interested in designing. Based on her outfit, he wouldn't be that surprised now that he thought about it. A shop with dresses, of course!
"Oh, your mother?" He asked, "Well I am here with my siblings taking a break before we head across the plains and mountains toward Belrea...is she also a hybrid? Maybe I saw her while I was coming into the settlement..." He offered lamely.

She nodded her head at him, still with her smile in place. "Mhm." Of course finding her mother was the issue. One would think it wouldn't be that hard. Alkidike tended to stand out in a crowd due to their height but so far none were who she was looking for. Which could mean her mother wasn't there or she was inside a shop. "Belrea.. isn't that across the ocean?" Masika was no adventurer so she wasn't exactly familiar with everything but she could remember general locations. Most of the time. Especially if she needed to send a commission there. "This is the farthest I've been from home so I'm not current on travel stuff." A slight coloring of her cheeks could be seen as she felt embarrassed by her lack of knowledge. Maybe she should try to learn more about other places? "Hybr-.. Oh! No no, my mother is an Alkidike. Uhm.. Tall.." As she said that she lifted one hand up past her own head to show what she meant like Aeuri wouldn't understand. "Uhm.. face markings on her cheek and chin." Again she brought her hand to show what she meant. Her fingers tracing the lines over her own cheek and down her chin the way her mother's markings would be seen. "And I think she still wears her hair in a long braid." Here she only vaguely motioned to her own hair, though she lacked the braid to show him. Masika felt rather stupid for her motioning since she was sure Aeuri would know what she meant without it. Realizing she was moving her hands around so much she clasped them in front of her. "Sorry."

Aeuri nodded eagerly at that, "It is! They use airships to head over...we saw them back when the festivals happened, but now the three of us are going to travel across and check out the island." He beamed at the thought, excited for adventure, "We've not been very far either...but considering we're still young...this is a chance for us to explore before we settle into our jobs back in Oba..." He added with a nod.
He was planning on doing healing, which meant he might join the army to help as a healer, or maybe open a shop. Either way, he was using this as a chance to learn, explore, and maybe grow his confidence a bit. But still, he had the comforting shadow of his two siblings, so that was helpful.
As she explained her mother, Aeuri's smile fell a bit, "Oh, well, considering we're so close to the Alkidike camps...I saw a few tall ones..." He trailed off, trying to remember if any had markings, many did and had long braids, so the description didn't really help.
"I'm sorry, but I can't really imagine one that stood out during our trip...I've seen a few...but they all look the same..."

Seeing how excited he got about Belrea made her smile a bit more. It seemed she knew quite a few people who were more than a little excited to travel around and see things. Masika couldn't help the giggle that escaped her. "It sounds like you'll enjoy it." She did notice that his smile lost a bit of its sparkle when she described her mother. It made her tilt her head just a little before she shook her head at his words. "Its alright. I know they look similar." Masika had accidentally mistook another Alk for her mother when she was younger so she did understand. Though that hadn't been a fun experience. Feeling a bit awkward at remembering it she looked to the side and searched for a way to change the topic. It only took her a second before she was looking back at him with her large smile. "Oh! You'll have to tell me about Belrea if we see each other again. I would love to hear about the place. Maybe find some inspiration from their designs." She wasn't sure if she would run into Aeuri again but if she did she would want to hear all about Belrea, and any of his other travels.

"I hope so..." He replied easily, considering all the things he had heard so far about the Belrean continent being such a stronghold for technology and development. It'd be interesting to see such a world considering how long he spent in Oba growing up. Hopefully they would also be more open and welcoming to hybrids.
As she brought up meeting again, Aeuri nodded, "Well, since we may have already met once in the marketplace, I'm sure we'll meet again...what's your store called? Maybe I can find something to bring back to you?"
His mother and the dancers at the Red already demanded they bring back trinkets and items, so what was one more thing?

Find something to bring back to-- Her hands came up and she waved them gently. "You don't have to do that." Masika would feel bad if he wasted any coin on something for her when he could use it for something he might want. "But uhm... My shop is called 'Oasis Threads.' My sister came up with the name." A small pun to the fact that Masika was a blue water hybrid living in the Desert country. "Just ask for Masika if you stop in and don't see me." Having a friend stop by would be nice. It would give her a break and distract her from pulling all nighters. Again. "So what will you do when you get back from your trip?" She had to admit she was curious. "You mentioned settling into your job when you return to Oba."

Aeuri waved it off like it was nothing, because to him it was, "I'm already shopping for the Red...what's one more thing? Or you're welcome to come visit when they inevitably put on a show with the new outfits..."
"Masika...Oasis Threads..." he echoed, to help keep it to memory, as he nodded and smiled again.
"Oh, well I guess I would do something in healing...haven't thought too much into it. My brother always gets into trouble...so often I'm helping make sure he can wake up the next day for some new trouble..."

"I would love to visit the Red. Maybe when I get back to Oba I will. Hopefully you're back by then." She smiled at him again. Masika was sure his journey would take longer than her own. He was going to see the world and she was just going to see her mom. One would clearly take longer than the other. "Healing huh?" Masika brightened up with that. "My sister is a healer down in Matori. She never had to work on me but she's helped our mom out a few times." A small chuckle left her as she remembered the look on her sibling's face as their mother came home with yet another injury. It hadn't been major or life threatening but it had been right after Valharii had patched up the woman from a spar. "Valharii says being a healer is rewarding though, so I'm sure you'll love it. And helping your brother get into more trouble sounds noble."

"No rush...I'm not sure how long this trip will take...though you'll probably see me or my twins out and about...they do look a lot like me with the dark skin and blonde hair..." He brushed off with a shrug, meekly smiling to try and avoid any disappointment from his statement.
As she spoke of her sister, Aeuri nodded, "It's really the only thing I'm good at...I'm not a fighter like my brother or a mage like my sister...healing magic has always come easy to me..."
