Prompt How dare they! To leave the mother lands and dare steal a seed from Elzira...it was unforgiveable! No one understands how they were able to sneak past the guardians, the matron and mystic. The seed that they hoped to use for their own future was gone, and there was little hope Elzira would bless them with another in her infancy. Guardians road out, but it seemed they were too late. They returned with news that the deserters had left on a boat and were sailing east into the unknown.
It would take months for them to learn that the boat had discovered a new continent, one filled with water-dwelling creatures. Though they would send more hunters again and again, they had no luck in discovering the area where the seed was planted. Failure after failure, the matron grew angry and the sisterhood agitated.
What are your thoughts on the deserters? Explore your character's feelings at the fact that sisters abandoned your tribe and stoke a seed of Elzira. What are your plans when/if you discover their location? Do you wish to go and fight, or maybe learn more?

Zinris was in an absolute uproar.
Public outcry was louder than ever with many of the more...opinionated sisters demanding justice. Pyrrha's own mother was among them; she'd seen her a time or two, joining with others to verbally condemn those who had dared defile Elzira and take what wasn't theirs! They rode out as soon as they could to track down the thieves, but alas, they were never found.
And now...now they had apparently been found trying to make...more? But where? Pyrrha sat on a damp, mossy stone and was left to ponder it. She brought one leg up onto the stone to cross underneath her thigh and left the other to drape across the soft foliage. Positioned as she was, Pyrrha was still close enough to camp to hear it all and yet, far enough away so that she wouldn’t be the target for the angrier sisters ire. She was already in deep enough with them so it was best not to provoke.
Covered in muck as she was, Pyrrha saw little need in covering her torso with anything as she repaired the straps on her top. Once a sister was close enough surely they would notice and reprimand her for it, but until then she was free with her thoughts. A theft, right under the nose of the matron? How was Nivalis taking to it?

Kanika was absolutely furious and did nothing to hide it. She was a storm that was prowling about, fed by the anger the others harboured. How dared they, thieves! She couldn't even begin to understand who would have stolen from them. It didn’t help that as she stomped about, hands clenched tightly, she couldn’t find her siblings or Lumikani and Zandala seemed absolutely more calm than she ought to be. Did they not care? How could they act like this during such a time! If anything her mother had probably taken Zayana on some training camp exercise and they were completely oblivious to the fact that the seed had been stolen.
Oh how it angered her. Kanika had had to leave the camp, making a run through her usual tracks to let out some steam. She even stopped and trained with her swords until she was dripping in sweat. Still, the anger burned inside, she could not extinguish it. She tried to bath, hoping the cool waters would perhaps help where exercising and training had not. It did little to quench her thirst for revenge. She hoped, no, she prayed that these thieves be found and brought back to pay for their crimes.
Kanika cleaned up and headed back to camp, her hair was still damp but she didn’t want to be here any longer. Perhaps she herself would be off and hunt them down on her own. On her way back she spotted Pyrrha fiddling with something, Kanika moved towards her.
“Pyrrha,” she called. “What are you doing?” Kanika tilted her head, one brow questioning what the other Elaria was doing.

A visitor?
Pyrrha turned her eyes to see an old friend coming her way and smiled. Kanika may not have viewed her in much the same light, but Pyrrha still thought well enough of the girl. She was one of the view in camp who could stand speaking with her for more than a few moments, which meant a lot to Pyrrha.
"Repairing my top," Turning a little, she held it up for inspection. The strap that went over her right shoulder had snapped, clearly from overuse. She rarely wore clothing while out in the wilds and since she wasn't exactly in good standing...well, what need was there in arguing with anyone just to get another one? "And you? You look flushed - were you training?"

Seeing the broken strap, Kanika approached closer to take a look. “Do you need any help?” It looked like it snapped, but Kanika could always rip off part of her cloth to help put it back together. “I can offer you some bits of my cloth to help repair it.”
“Training and letting off some steam yes,” there was no point in hiding the fact. “I’ve been angry about this whole thief situation and feel powerless.” She couldn’t remember if Pyrrha had been one of the angrier sisters like she had been. Even if she was not, she did not judge her. Everyone seemed to have their own opinion on the situation.
“One of my mothers and my sister went off training ro something too somewhere and my mother other seems distracted.” Kanika felt lonely and powerless with the information they had been given, but she would never admit to feeling lonely.

"Oh, that would be lovely, thank you." Pyrrha smiled blissfully and moved over on her stone, patting a spot she'd made beside her. It wasn't much, but at least it had to be more comfortable than standing.
"Are you sure they're training? If they disappeared at the same time Elzira was stolen from then maybe they've left." Her tone was soft and wistful, though her words were rude in their frankness. It seemed to her the most logical thought, anyway; after all, where else could they have gone?
She reached up for Kanika, holding her hand out to welcome the other elaria onto her boulder, should she wish to take it.

“Not a problem.” Smiling, Kanika did not hesitate and tore the end of her skirt to create two strips of cloth. They wouldn’t completely match with Pyrrha’s black top, but only slightly because of the yellow. Holding the strips in one hand, Kanika grabbed the hand that the other Elaria had extended to help her and got up top of the rock with her. “Thanks!” She got to work right away, twisting the strands and the broken piece together.
“I...” Kanika started, her voice cracking a little bit, yes she had thought about it. Zandala had been eerily quiet about the whole thing, far too quiet than she was used to seeing her. Kanika had not wanted to think about it too much, it squeezed her heart to know that one of her mother’s would leave her behind and that her sister would leave her behind. It was heartbreaking and she could only imagine how Zandala felt, one of her daughters and partner gone.
“I think Zandala is in denial of it,” and I am too angry to see it, Kanika thought to herself feeling her anger deflate. She paused her work briefly feeling a sadness bubble in her chest.

Pyrrha reached out to put her hand on Kanika's thigh. She couldn't offer much, if any comfort, in this situation but maybe just knowing someone was close would help. "Zandala isn't the only one hurting." It was only a guess, naturally, but Pyrrha could put enough information together to figure it out.
It was easy enough for an outsider to look in and make judgments, but what of a sister? An actual sister? If one of her own mothers had gone, as she could only assume one actually had, Pyrrha wouldn't feel much, but Pruu? If she lost Pruu she wouldn't know what to do.
"Were you close?"

Pyrrha was right, Zandala was probably just as upset as she was. It hurt more to know that her sister had left without a word at least, or even taken Zan and Kanika along with them. Kanika didn’t know how she would have taken it, but she would have gone because family stuck together and now they’d been left behind. Kanika felt bitter about it, but she also needed to remember that they didn’t really know if that was true or not. She would wait before passing judgment, but she was sure Pyrrha was right.
“Lumikani gave me her blades, it sounded ominous at the time but she said everything was fine.” Was that why she had been given the blades? Because even back then she knew what was going to happen? “Well, at least now I have another reason to travel.” She was going to find them, she didn’t know what she would do when she did but she would find them.
“Then again, there’s never not any good reason to travel and they never let us go anywhere.” Kanika sighed and booped Pyrrha’s shoulder with her forehead. “Are you going with the next expedition?”

"Everything happens for a reason even if we don't know it at the time." The whole business with thieves and deserters was stressing, but Pyrrha knew things would right themselves sooner or later. They always did. Either the betrayers would be caught and punished, or whatever plan they had concocted would come to fruition.
"I hadn't really thought of it, but I would like to see where they've gone. I think one of my mothers' went with them; I don't really know, though, Ko won't tell me anything and I haven't been able to see Pruu." Her twin wouldn't hide information from her, but her mother....well, Ko's dislike of her youngest had never been kept quiet.
"Would you have gone? If they'd asked you?"

“You should come with then!” Kanika said quickly without even a second thought as to what that might imply for Pyrrha or what kind of impact it would make. Granted she didn’t know much about the other Elaria but she had some heard things. Not that she would give them any merit, Kanika liked to get her own take on tings in the world, Lumikani had taught her so. Here just both of them, whatever she may have heard it just didn’t really matter. Pyrrha was an Elaria just like her, a sister, and whatever the Alkidikes said about their daughters didn’t matter.
Kanika was silent as she thought about the answer to Pyrrha’s question, she kept working on the repair but did not speak a word for a long time. Her sister and her had always dreamed of traveling and seeing the world, and in some ways, Lumi had trained them as such. They were more “liberal” in their ideals one might say and she knew Lumi had received a lot of backlash against raising her daughters as such. Zandala had always allowed it, supporting Lumi in whatever way she saw fit which included the way they raised their children.
For a long time, Kanika had wanted to get away and see the world with her own eyes.
“Yes,” she finally said softly. “While it has gotten better in recent years, sometimes I feel like this place is suffocating. I thirst for adventure and if Lumikani had asked me to go with her, I would have done as my sister has.” She still didn’t approve of the thieving, but the adventuring… Seeing this new race for the first time, yes Kanika could get behind that idea. “Would you have gone if your sister had left?”

“You should come with then!”
Pyrrha's eyes widened. She hadn't gotten the impression that Kanika had been interested in leaving Zinris, let alone to join the family who had taken away part of Elzira, but apparently she'd been wrong! Of course Pyrrha understood that her aggravation had been pent up hurt after being left behind, but she was truly blindsided by the statement.
An invitation like that wasn't something one said so lightly and yet, there it was.
"Of course I would have. I would follow Pruu anywhere." Her voice was a little quieter now. "I've thought about it, too. Of leaving. Even before this." It's why she'd built her little hut on the edge of Yael, just close enough to Zinris for contact but as far from her angrier sisters as possible. "But I don't know if I could leave Pruu. Or Nivalis. She's as close as a born sister to me, and they would both be so sad if I left." If not for her closest friend and twin she may have left years ago. Once before she'd tried but Nivalis had pulled her back. Now, however...."Still, I don't think my mothers would miss me. And Myrcella...she would be the first to run me through." Her elder sister would likely join the others in hunting her down, so there was certainly no love lost there.

“You should go where your heart desires,” Kanika said offhandedly, staring up at the sky before saying in a much softer and quitter voice, “we all should.” How many times had Kanika wanted to explore the world? To see and experience things on her own? No, instead she had been met with looks of disapproval from everyone but her family. They hadn’t allowed any of the Elaria to leave, but now they were making exceptions because something far worst had happened.
“I don’t’ condone what they did,” she added. “I don’t think thieving is the answer, and I’m still mad about that. However,” Kanika pulled up her leg and wrapped it around, laying her chin on her knee. “I also want more freedom, Lumikani brought us up like that and I guess now it makes sense why. She was always a little different from the other extremist.” Not that she personally cared. “I’m going whether the matrons let Elaria go or not.” And that was final.
“Your own sister would run you through?” Kanika’s brows furrowed deeply, that was not right. “Why?” If Pyrrha had though about leaving before, and most of her family disliked her, it would be a good opportunity for her to leave. “Well if you want to travel with Zandala and me you can.” She didn’t know if Zandala would really approve since Pyrrha wasn’t her daughter, but if one of her sisters was in distress, Kanika would help her in any way she could.

"Myrcella was born of Aisha, not Elzira. She came here with the matrons." It was almost comical, imaging the two of them standing side by side. Several of the older alkidike had made comments her entire childhood about how similar the sisters looked in all aspects save for coloring. And yet...they'd still come out so very, very different inside. "She's embarrassed by me and who I've become. I think if she had it her way I would go on an expedition and not come back."
Maybe that's what she should do. If she went with Kanika and Zandala a new future might await her or, quite possibly, a tragic death if they were to be found. Her own mother, Ko, had been part of the search parties and she'd always been a vicious Amazon. If she catches me...she won't make it quick.
And yet..."Please, let me know before you go. My hut is on the beach, just past the swamp. No one goes there so they wouldn't be able to hear us talking." She couldn't say just yet whether or not she was fully committed to the idea, but Pyrrha couldn't deny the temptation any longer.

Kanika glanced up at the sky, she had to get back home to Zandala.
“If she is from Aisha, then she is not your sister.” The Elaria said firmly, as she’d grown up she felt that the Elaria were their own thing and would never be similar to the Aishians who came directly from Aisha.
“I will let you know a few days before we leave. It’s soon.” Kanika wasn’t sure how Zandala would react but she also didn’t plan on even allowing Zandala to not take Pyrrha with them. If Kanika had to take her there herself, she would. The Elaria had to stick together.
Kani laid a gentle hand on Pyrrha’s shoulder. “We’re going to take you away from here one way or another. I promise you that.” And with that she slid down the boulder and headed home. Her anger had evaporated, she had things to plan to keep her busy.
