Twix practically skipped the hole way through the Banners to the Grandfather Tree. He knew the way form when he had travailed with Dryxel during his adept journey. Dryxel had sent Twix off with a look of fatherly approval and some kind words that had ment the world to Twix. He really looked up to the Buck that had saved him form a lot of hurt and loneliness. Twix was alive with joy and energy. "Karry can you believe it is my time." He called to his companion that was only a couple of nouls weights behind him. Twix had to keep doubling back just so she would not fall to far behind. "Yes Twix I can. You have grow very much and the Great Tree has need of you." She was never one for sugar coating or fluffing his fur. Twix rolled his eyes at his friend and she shot him a look that made him chuck and grin innocently. "I wonder what gift I will get?" he knew he sounded more like an young eager foal but he just could not mask the feeling bubbling inside. As the tree came into view Twix stopped. Sure he had seen it before, no big deal, but it was different when the Grandfather Tree called to you, pulled on you, to come take the next step into forever for. A "Wow" escaped his month but that was all he could manages as he looked at the white bark and great branches that would start his life.
"Well did we walk this far to look at it or are we going to it?" Karry had finally caught up to Twix. Before he could head off she jumped on to his back, her short leg more then done with this trip. With that Twix took of and trotted the rest of the distance. As he came up to the roots Karry hopped down and shoed Twix on without her. He walked slowly heart racing form the run or was it the excitement? He was not sure at the moment. Head bent low as he came up to the base of the tree he call said "I think I am ready?" Clearing his throat he said again "I mean I am ready."
