Prompt
The earthlings were welcoming and open to the ways of Kahikina, willing to trade knowledge for knowledge. In the initial years of relationship development, the people of Kahikina learned about battle and magic. When before a rare few could cast spells, now anyone could learn if taught properly.

Healers, casters, fighters and warriors. All of these new jobs were novel for the trade-based Kahikinans. What an expansion to a world they never knew!

This solo-only prompt is for you to explore how your character deals with the new classes and magic of Tendaji. Do they embrace it? Shun it? Are they interested enough to take on a new class compared to before?

Magic had always been something that seemed like some sort of innate ability, not many Kahkinan could perform it. Kaikamahine had always been jealous of those who had the abilities. They could do such cool things and it all just seemed so out of reach. Kai also wanted to do things with magic! She enjoyed singing and well that meant putting on a show and with magic she could but on such an amazing show with all these cool effects thanks to magic... Unfortunately, she had not been born with magic, which she’d always been a bit upset about. Why couldn’t she, of all people, have magic?

But the newcomers changed that. They brought magic to everyone on Kahikina! How was this possible? Had all these people been using magic before them? Kai just could not believe it and she was for sure going to get some piece of magic for herself. Was she worried about the consequences? Were there even consequences? Kai had no idea, didn’t care either. All she knew was that she was going to be able to add so much more to her performances now. Well, once she was allowed to go out and actually learn the magic that was, her mother was still not letting her go out.

It also meant that Kaikamahine didn’t have to do some boring old job, surely these Earthlings would want to see the Kaihikians and the kind of things they could do. She loved nothing more than to sing and acte and she planned on following through on that dream once she could, she practiced every day and she hoped to perform in front of these Earthlings one day. Instead of being scared like most people she wanted to embrace this and use it to her advantage. Then everyone would know how cool and awesome she was. Imagine how popular she could get! Kai sighed dreamily. So close and yet so far.

Until then, she was going to continue practicing her singing. Her mother had said she was getting better and that she did sound better than her other siblings. So that was good right? It meant that Kai at least had some talent. As for acting, Kai was always putting on some plays for her family. She used the reeds as a backdrop and she could easily slip between them to hide in case she had to do a character change. Her family certainly seemed to enjoy her presentations and it brought the family together in the evenings. Though her mother always told her acting came naturally to Kai since it felt like she was always over acting in her regular life.

Kai rolled as she floated over to her dresser. Her mother banned her from wearing makeup, saying she was too young for it. She was only allowed to wear it when she was performing because it allowed her to play different parts. Honestly, Kai couldn’t wait to be older and do all the things that she wanted without any rules or regulations keeping her down. She’d heard that the new comers brought all sorts of fun things with them, clothing materials, makeup, jewelry... The kind of stuff that made a girl dream really, she wanted to buy these things!

While fixing her hair, Kai pursed her lips, stuck out her tongue and pushed her cheeks up. If only she could age faster. She gave another little sigh before pushing off of her desk to land on her bed on her back, arms out as she stared up at the ceiling. Her mother had also confined everyone to the house until they got more information on these newcomers. Kaikamahine didn’t understand why they couldn’t just greet them and then get along with them. They couldn’t come in the water, so she didn’t really see the issue with hanging out with them.

‘You’re just a child, you don't understand yet.’ Kai mouthed the words silently that her mother had told her and rolled her eyes. Just because she was a kid didn’t mean she was stupid, they had to be careful but again she’d heard that they couldn’t breath underwater and the Kahkinans couldn’t be up on the earth all day long like the Earthlings. If anything happened they both could go back from where they came from and be safe forever. So far there weren't any incidents though so it seemed like things were going well. It was all just a waiting game now, a few years and Kai would go out and meet her very first Earthling.
