Original series episodes

I will summarize the episodes of the original series here.

Episode 1 of 224

Yugi Mutou, Tea Gardener, Joey Wheeler, Tristan Taylor, and Seto Kaiba all went to the same high school. Seto was semi-reading when he overheard Yugi mention to Joey that Yugi's grandfather Solomon had a rare card at the game shop.

So, after seeing the card for himself, Seto challenges Solomon to a duel, which he wins. When Yugi and his friends show up, Seto rips the card in front of everyone causing the heart break syndrome in Solomon.

Solomon gives Yugi his prized deck, which Yugi uses to beat Seto in a fair duel where Yugi was able to summon the rare and powerful exodia.

Summoning Exodia is one of the three ways in which a person instantly wins a duel. The other ways are to have someone unable to draw and when a player's life points reach 0. The one who still has cards vs the one who cannot draw wins. The one who has life points vs the one without any wins.

Yugi uses his millennium item to open Seto's mind to the heart of the cards whereas before Seto only believed that power was the only way to win.

Episode 2 of 224

Maximillion Pegasus, the supposed creator of the duel monsters game and the head of Industrial Illusions has sent Yugi Mutou a tape with a magical shadow duel inside it. Yugi loses to Pegasus and Pegasus steals the soul of Yugi's grandpa solomon.

Now Yugi must compete in a duel tournament that Pegasus is hosting in order to free his grandpa from Max's greedy wicked hands.

Episode 3 of 224

Yugi and Joey board the ship to the island where Pegasus's tournament is going to take place but at a disadvantage of having only one star chip each compared to the other duelists who have two. Joey plans on winning the prize money in order to save his sister's eyesight whereas Yugi needs to win it all to save his grandpa.

Episode 4 of 224

Now on the island, the first match was Yugi vs Weevil. It is not finished yet, but Yugi does have the advantage.

Episode 5 of 224

Yugi beats Weevil showing him that by playing fair and with honor is the only way to become a true champion.

Episode 6 of 224

Mai challenges Joey to a duel making it the second match for our heroes, which she loses. She loses because she only juiced up one monster card. Having a balanced deck consisting of monster cards meaning more than one type, spell cards, and traps, one has a better chance of winning the duel.

Episode 7 of 224

Joey was getting really hungry and smelled some food that actually belonged to Mako Tsunami a sea duelist. Mako challenges Yugi to a duel after they all eat and Yugi wins.

Episode 8 of 224

Mokuba stole some kid's star chips because he wanted to face Yugi in a duel, but didn't have any or a deck for that matter so he stole the kid's deck too. Yugi caught Mokuba and taught him a lesson in bullying, but soon after, he found that he was dueling a "fake" Seto Kaiba.

Episode 9 of 224

While Yugi battles the fake Kaiba, the real Kaiba is at his computer at his house and he is hacking into the computers at Duelist Kingdom to help Yugi.

Episode 10 of 224

The real Seto causes blue eyes white dragon number 2 to get real sick and die. But Yugi wins the duel against the fake Kaiba with a combination of Monster reborn and the mystical elf and the blue eyes white dragon. Then he sends the fake Kaiba to the shadow realm and gives Pegasus a warning, which Pegasus shrugs off as an empty threat.

Episode 11 of 224

Joey is challenged by Rex Raptor and he must win without Yugi's coaching. At first the duel goes badly for Joey, but then he starts to make a comeback.

Episode 12 of 224

Joey wins against Rex Raptor thus winning the red eyes black dragon. Then, late that night, Mai shares her food with our heroes claiming that she will soon have enough star chips to enter the castle. When she goes for a walk, however, she is taken by a mysterious duelist.

Bakura shows up and after our heroes share what card they associate with most, Bakura uses his millennium ring to put everyone to sleep. He tries to take the puzzle by force, but Yami wakes up and tells Bakura that in order to take the puzzle, Bakura must duel Yami for it.

Episode 13 of 224

Yami battles evil Bakura and wins, thus saving everyone. Then they all hear a scream coming from nearby. So, our heroes are rushing to see what is going on.

Episode 14 of 224

Yugi begins a duel with an eliminator called Panic who enjoys tormenting people with the dark. Yugi, however is not scared of what Panic is doing and is going to put him in his place.
