Nearly finished with his business, the owner came through the back alley with a hefty bag full of supplies. It's contents we're completely innocent, holding nothing but food stuffs that one would expect to find in ramen. Once it reached the back, the door swing open to travel a fat burly man, his expression grim. He didn't speak but only nodded, taking the supplies and handing off money. The hooded being turn snuck past the man wasting no time, it moved to update the seals to ensure their strength. The process did not take long and within minutes it was back on its way to whatever other remained on it's checklist.

As per the usual, the specter moved to collect the money the business had earned from the backdoor by the dumpster. In return, he handed off a large sack of ingredients. The man at the counter nodded grimly before he moved aside to allow the ambiguous cloaked future through. The seals here were less intricate, and thus required less time to empower. The specter was out in but a few minutes and the customers none the wiser.

▱▰▱Akaran's smile glistened as he lifted his head high to allow his face to bathe in the gentle Konohagakure Sun. This golden light that passed through the trees and the perfect blue sky gave even more of a glow to his naturally sunny disposition. He looked up at the mountain and continued his walk beside Akihiko. "I'm so excited! I can finally train and learn Kyo-to-ryuu from the master. Nothing's in my way now!" Anticipation erupted from his jovial expression before he flared his nostrils in determination. It was then that the smell of fresh noodles and simmering pork assaulted his nose with a detectable aroma. He felt his stomach rumble before gripping it tightly and glancing over at the noodle stand. The Kaguya looked at the noodle stand and then back at the mountain before looking at the ramen bar once again. There were no other customers so it was prime for their patronage. "Ey man, you hungry? We can't go climbing mountains on an empty stomach..." Akaran then glanced at Akihiko with puppy dog eyes. He hoped that he could convince him to sit and have a bowl of noodles before continuing their journey. Plus, he needed time to ask him what was up with the sword drawing maneuver. And also he wanted to get to know his travel companion better.

The pleasant walk through Konohagakure had helped Akihiko completely shake off his previously poor mood over the realization that Akaran was stupidly carefree and he was not. However, the excited Oni's suggestion that they stop their 'quest' and go enjoy some ramen was one that warranted no response other than an eye roll. When he looked at Akaran, though, he fell victim to puppy dog eyes and gave in immediately.
"Fine." He sat at the ramen bar, not needing to think about his order and immediately ordering a bowl with mild spice and extra pork. He tried not to think about how just last week he'd been able to reject the temptation of an entire crime boss to give up his employer, and now he was giving in repeatedly to some strange wannabe samurai he had just met. He tried not to beat himself up about it, but even the acknowledgement that he deserved a small vacation from his duties didn't make him feel like less of a spineless sap.
"At least Konoha is famous for their ramen," he conceded as he readied his chopsticks. The bowl was placed in front of him and he suddenly realized just how hungry he was. "I don't think it'll be a long hike. I'm sure this Masato would tire himself out if the travel was that tedious."

▱▰▱Akaran's mouth was watering by the time he sat beside Akihiko at the ramen bar. He stared at the menu before ordering an extra spicy pork bowl himself. He also asked for some gyoza dumplings and beer to go with it. Before his bowl arrived, he demolished plate after plate of gyoza with a frightening appetite. One might assume that he would spoil the ramen but this was not the case. When the bowl of ramen arrived he snapped his wooden chopstick set in two before going to town on the bowl of noodles and slices of delicious pork. The green onions, egg, and other additions to the bowl were stupendous as well. He then drank the broth from the bowl and washed it down with the mug of beer while holding back a belch with immense effort. There was still broth and spice on his lips as he glanced over and away from his food with a feeling of satisfaction. "So good!" He yelled at the top of his lungs with pleasure before giving a thumbs up to the chef. Akaran then rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly as he stared at Akihiko nervously. The man was somewhat intimidating with his stern demeanor and itchy sword arm. His ramen-covered mouth smiled widely with a toothy grin before he tried to break the tension with a joke. "I got a joke for ya, A-ki-hi-ko. What's orange and sounds like a parrot? A Carrot." Akaran then narrowed his smile to purse his lips in anticipation of laughter. It took him forever to finally get that joke when he heard it the first time and now he was utterly obsessed with it. He then waved over for another plate of gyoza before more slowly digging into them than before. "Ya want a gyo-za too?" Akaran then sweetly offered the fifth plate of dumplings that he had devoured to split with Akihiko.

Akihiko ate his ramen in a far more reserved manner than Akaran, but the mercenary was captivated by the way Akaran felt no shame. It was interesting that they were both indulgent of their vices, but Akaran was more visible about it. They were, perhaps, more similar than Akihiko had originally assessed. Then, the stupid joke that caught Akihiko completely off-guard despite the warning, and he couldn't help but roll his eyes and crack a grin. "That has no right being called a joke." He finished up his ramen as he tried to think of one that was actually funny, but he couldn't stop thinking about Akaran's stupidly pleased face after trying to make him laugh.
Then, the gyoza. "Sure, why not?" He grabbed one and plopped it in his mouth without considering his usual apprehension towards food from others. He was really just letting his guard down time after time. "That is ridiculously good," he commented instead of wallowing. "Alright. You might have good taste in cuisine. Don't let it go to your head, though," he warned good-naturedly as he jabbed a chopstick in the Oni's direction.
He allowed the chef to replace his bowl with a fresh one, feeling indulgent since Akaran wasn't holding back, either. "You kind of just do what you want, whenever you want, huh?" The Oni had not resisted his own desires for the entirety that Akihiko had known him, which was intriguing in of itself since he didn't seem especially cunning. "I think Masato will like that about you."

▱▰▱Akaran let loose a belly laugh after Akihiko responded with an eye roll and a smile at his joke. "Because carrot sounds like parrot!" He snorted through another fit of laughter after he yelled out the punchline's explanation with supreme amusement. He was delighted that he managed to get Akihiko to lighten up a touch as well. "What's that mean?" Akaran scratched his head in reference to the word cuisine. He had heard it used a couple of times and never understood its meaning so he figured that Akihiko could elucidate him. It was then that he felt the chopstick poke him. His confused expression twisted into that of playful confidence before he shoved his shoulder again just as he did earlier before winking. He stared at the sword on his hip to indicate that was what he was teasing about nonverbally. He mischievously chuckled as he retracted his hand from Akihiko's shoulder but only stopped midway between the duo. With fire in his eyes, he listened to Akihiko's assessment of his carefree attitude and behavior. "Not everything..." Akaran said playfully sheepishly before placing his retracted hand atop Akihiko's for a couple of seconds with a coy smirk. But in a couple of seconds, he lifted his hand up before resting both hands behind his head in a relaxed expression. Akaran laughed off touching his hand nervously to try to pass it off like he was joking before shifting gears to avoid seeming too weird. "I'm just free! What's stoppin' you, A-ki-hi-ko?" Sunshine returned to his face as he flashed another toothy grin as if to verbally nudge him toward figuring out why he was always trying to act like such a tough guy. Now that the inch of tenderness within the mercenary was revealed, Akaran was preparing to seize a mile.

Akaran's question caught Akihiko off guard until he put two and two together. "Cuisine is fancy talk for food," he explained as he took another bite of his second bowl. He was more ready for Akaran's play-fighting and didn't reach for his sword at all, instead finding himself moving along with the other until they were touching hands.
Akihiko wasn't a slow man, but it took an eternity for him to grasp the other's meaning, even as the Oni played it off with a leisurely posture. The laughter was different from the heartfelt framing of the carrot joke, but Akihiko didn't press the matter. He didn't want to misread the situation and have to cut off their budding friendship because he couldn't curb his curiosity. "Perhaps too free," he commented with amusement.
"I am only stopped by own resistance to imprisonment, when it comes to my more law-breaking hobbies. I mostly do what I want, but only after careful consideration of the potential cost. You just do not seem to do that. I think that is interesting." As he spoke, he'd studied the Oni's face, then realized belatedly that he was appearing a little too interested in the other man. He finished his bowl of ramen and struggled to think of a way to get clarification on Akaran's earlier actions, though he wasn't sure he could take the disappointment of misinterpreting the meaning. He'd rather cherish what could have been than lose what he was settling for.
"Are you going to be okay to hike after eating all of that?"

▱▰▱He nodded gently when Akihiko clarified the word cuisine. Akaran supposed it made sense considering the way people used that word before. He also noted when Akihiko stated that he was perhaps too free. The full meaning and intention of Akihiko's statement were lost on him but he began to wonder if he was onto him. If he was then he did not seem to have a problem with it and only seemed to open up more and more. He kept his hands behind his head and fought the temptation for more roughhousing. Again, he was still uncertain of if Akihiko would find him odd. "If what I do doesn't hurt good people then why worry?" Akaran responded but was intrigued by Akihiko's indication of criminality. Before he could inquire further, Akihiko casually asked if he could hike after overindulging on greasy food. "I have a strong stomach." Akaran then dismissively waved off the concern with a clearly carefree disposition.
With a plateful of gyoza left, Akaran grinned and lowered his hand toward the plate before being approached by two children. He swiveled his stool around when the urchins began speaking to him. "Can we have some ryo or food?" Akaran stopped his reach and smiled brightly once again before turning his pockets out and shrugging as if to communicate "I got nothing" but he picked up the mostly-full gyoza plate. He left three in front of Akihiko if he wanted more with his ramen before sliding the rest into the children's hands. "Here ya go! These are real good!" Akaran's voice was chipper as he shared the dumplings with them. They smiled in return before responding in unison. "Thank you!" Akaran's huge smile grew even more before he gave a thumbs up. "No problem!" He then watched them scamper off before swiveling back around and resting his chin in his hand with an elbow on the bar's surface. Akaran was still a little hungry even after so many plates of gyoza and two bowls of spicy pork ramen but figured that he had enough. He returned to thinking of what Akihiko was talking about before slowly formulating his response. "You're a smart guy, A-ki-hi-ko. I'm not very smart. I should think more before I do things. And maybe you should trust more. Maybe we can help each other?" Akaran became more serious but still lighthearted in his suggestion of complementing each other's strengths during their travels. He let the tension brought on by his sincerity hang in the air before smirking. "And maybe I should think twice about traveling with a lawbreaker like you, right?" Akaran then lightly punched Akihiko's bicep before winking. He asked in jest for he had spent plenty of time with disreputable types in his travels but always seemed to come out on the other side of situations unscathed. Perhaps it had to do with his muscles and strong bearing but Akaran figured that he was just lucky like that.

Akihiko's eyes narrowed at Akaran's apparent philosophy. "Good people don't exist," he muttered as, naturally, children came up to beg. It warmed his little heart that the oh-so-great-and-mighty Konohagakure still had homelessness like the harsh streets outside of the fire country. Village or not, marginalized people always existed, because their suffering fueled the powers that be. He had been given sympathy for far too long for growing up outside of the villages, but people could suffer anywhere if they lacked opportunity, or the ability to create some for themselves.
He watched the children scurry off with a carefully neutral expression. He did like kids, most of the time, but he had little patience for the do-gooder nature of his comrade. The Oni's proposition was more forward than he'd been expecting, but he covered his surprise with an uncaring shrug. "I'm on vacation, so I can stick around."
He smirked at the lawbreaker comment as he finished off the gyoza that Akaran had left for him. "You certainly can't prove that I've broken any laws. And, frankly, neither can anyone else. But you learn better from the con man than the mark, so you're in good hands with me." He emphasized his point by paying the chef for their food with a generous tip, not at all phased by the money he was spending for Akaran's stomach.
"Masato's going to have a lot to teach you if you get too familiar with pulling your punches," he teased in regard to Akaran's roughhousing. "Are we going to go see the man, or what?" He clapped a hand on Akaran's shoulder, the first touch he'd initiated since they met, then rose to his feet and stretched overhead. Akaran would likely miss it, but the position left his blade's hilt open for the taking and his flank vulnerable; a show of trust from the mercenary that Akaran would not take advantage of any weakness.

▱▰▱Akaran watched with widened eyes as Akihiko paid for him. "Thanks man!" He smiled with gratitude as a nervous drop of sweat formed on his head. The Kaguya rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly realizing that he ate far more than his companion despite not paying a dime. "I'll get ya back next time!" He gave Akihiko a thumbs up to seal his promise. Before Akaran could ask more about Akihiko's swindling pedigree he was caught off guard by Akihiko's insistence that they get a move on. When Akihiko teased him before tapping his shoulder he smiled before hopping out of his stool. "You bet!" Akaran was immensely excited to possibly begin his taijutsu training as he quickly walked toward the mountain.

Finally, if half the resource cost of a bone armor technique is spent then it gains the attributes of armor and this does not cost a combat action. If the bone armor technique is E-Rank then it is considered very light armor, D-C rank for light armor, B-A rank for medium armor, and S-S+ rank for heavy armor. ▱▰▱ Martial Paragon | The favored fighting styles of the Kaguya are Taijutsu and Bukijutsu, and they learn 1 extra technique per paragraph per body rank for a total of 6 at S+. In addition, the Kaguya is able to start off with 2 additional taijutsu or bukijutsu styles. Finally, all complex Dance of the Meadow techniques are treated as spiritual in collision with other complex techniques. ▱▰▱ Curse Born | Forbidden Seals, including Curse of the Blood Orchid, owned by this rpc have an additional 100 corrupted nature chakra stored in their seal. This increases their cap from 400 to 500. Also, the Kaguya is able to recover faster from the drawbacks of forbidden seals following the deactivation of the seal making the stat reductions last for three posts rather than five.
Sonyo had been seeking cheap yet tasty food to fill a void within her, the void of having missed breakfast due to various reasons involving the fact she’d unintentionally immolated her groceries the prior day trying to show off her explosion release to a couple of her friends, her unfortunate groceries paying the price for not her misjudging the blast radius. Now a little after noon she couldn’t bear with it anymore and ended out deciding to eat out, finding herself here as her resulting choice due to spontaneity and it being the first actual cheaper establishment she found herself at. Upon “entry” into the establishment and selecting the centre stool that she would soon plonk herself down upon, first putting her long gym bag in between the stool and counter on the ground as it clattered a little, using her feet to reposition it until she was satisfied. Finally applying her butt to the stool she gave a grin to the employee running it and spoke “Hey there, it’s this JKs first time so I don’t really have any preference so just gimme two extra large servings o chefs special and make it snappy if you can!?” She instructed, letting a grin creep across her face as she returned the almost confused look the employee gave her, putting both of elbow on the table and linking her fingers so she could lean her chin in them as she stared at the man hard whilst he worked away on her food.

The young boy had not much to do....he didn't particularly find himself wanting right this moment to go on missions....nor did he find that anyone really had missions for him in the first place. This was all fine by him for the time being if he were being honest with himself. However hunger had found him...and he had never really tried food outside of what had been prepared for him at his home....Which by no means included ramen. He wanted to try exactly that, approaching the ramen shop he would decide against bothering other customers, he didn't really want to be a bother in the first place. Sitting he would speak up fairly quickly. "I'd like....whatever you'd recommend sir." He would say to whatever worker was nearby to take his order and would just sit there sort of swinging his legs dangling off the chair.
Another customer appeared a short while after herself, this being a boy, younger than her by about as many years as he was inches shorter than herself. Although she didn’t know him directly or his exact age, he had definitely attended the academy around the same time as her, graduated a little before herself which meant he had to be very smart or talented. His order was to the point and indecisive in her opinion, not like she could talk as she didn’t make a specific choice either, perhaps it could actually have been a decisive decision to leave it to the chef but this wasn’t important. What was important here was that he’d decided to get a meal at the same time as her and so she slowly turned her attention away from the chef and over to him, turning in her stool and removing one arm from the table, the other flipping over to support her chin and cheek with its palm. She use her other hand to drum her fingers on the counter nearer him to catch his attention, speaking immediately after doing so with her mouth grinning with self amusement as she did so “Normally if one sits down with a lovely young lady they should at least greet them!”
As she finished the sentence she straightened up a little and turned more towards him, now leaning nearer him with eyes wide as if inspecting him. ’You graduated the academy not too long ago, before the creepy eclipse stuff right!? Tell me, I’m not wrong... am I? Like, you so totally were in the class run by ***** -sensei RIIIIIGHT?” She pressed him, leaning in even closer as her expression shifted from its curious stare to a knowing and playful grin, turning her hat to the side so the beak wouldn’t be at risk of poking her target of the cross-examination.
