"Get that alternate line hooked up over there, come on, come on. Hurry it up would you? Shesh," Shouted a masculine voice from one side of the room, "If you mess this one up, it will be both our heads."
There was a frantic pace about the small underground lab as something was going to happen, something that should never had happened. Dark grey walls were lined with computer screens and different tools for the trade of "mad" science. It was a kids dream to have such a place where things grew and transformed into other things.The pacing of foot steps back and forth the small room was interrupted as something burst from the single door.
Lots of growling, the glimmer of teeth shown in the pale green light coming from the tubes along the far left wall. Something had broken free from it's enclosure in an adjoining room. Foam leaked from the sides of it's mouth as pale grey eyes darted about the murky glowing room, it eyesight enhanced by the gloom the mutated creature as it sought its prey, the scientists.
"Hit the lights! It can't stand bright lighting!" Shouted another voice, a female one would think upon hearing it.
A pale ear twitched within in the murky gloom of one of the tanks as soft gold eyes opened a crack. The world was blurry, but of focus as the tiny head lifted from where it had rested. The other ear twitched as the sound of out side met it. Small lungs gasped greatly within the oxygenated tank. The strange gel inside remained outside the small creature's mouth and nose. Soon its eyes closed again as the harsh white lights of the room suddenly flashed into life. Piercing howls of pain reverberated about the glass tank shattering a few before cracking the glass of its own.
"Get it out of here!" Shouted the female's voice again, "Get it out before anything else is lost!"
"But boss, we can't get close," called one of the scientists.
"Then get out of my way!" The female growled as something clicked.
Soft gold eyes had opened again and looked over toward the commotion, despite the fact that everything was out of focus. it could see the mutated Houndoom snapping at those that tried getting close to it. Foam slipping like slobber to the floor where it lay in nasty blobs.
! BANG !
A gun fired. A sharp yelp rattled the small creature to its very bones as the mutated pokemon collapsed to the floor. Blood oozing from a fresh wound, dull grey eyes glazed over as the creatures sides failed to breath. Shaking, the small creature shivered visibly within its now cracked tank. What was going on? What just happened?
"Get this mess cleaned up!" The female shouted as frightened helpers scurried to clean up the mess on the floor.
The woman turned toward the cracked tube and peered in at the small golden Eevee that drifted within. Its eyes filled with fear looking back into her cruel emerald ones. A twisted smile came to the woman's lips.
