Geocronite leaned against the tree that he had decided to hide under, grumpily looking at all of the people passing by and taking some energy here and there when they were close enough. He wasn't angry at everyone else no. He was angry at the fact that he was still in the Negaverse, having been "promoted" after his General had gone MIA or whatever and they apparently thought that he would be willing to fill the position, or at least moving to the next level to make up for it. Of course he hadn't been, but what could he have said otherwise? He had kept his mouth shut during the process, making sure to keep a relaxed expression on his face and then "thanked" the General who had done it for "promoting" him, only waiting until he was outside and powered down to go and kick a tree and spend the week hiding out in a tent outside. It had been cold, but it was worth it to try to forget about all of it. Still, he had to continue his "duties" and so he was out and about waiting for strangers to pass by so that he could fill his quota that he apparently still had. He had heard that Generals barely had to do any energy collecting, but he didn't want that either. He just wanted to get out of all of this and forget that it ever existed. He could feel himself getting annoyed when he felt the aura of... well he wasn't sure what they were, but they weren't Chaos, which meant they were on the "other side" and therefor the "enemy". "I am not in the mood to fight tonight." He grumbled under his breath. And if they decided to attack him, he would run away. Even if he had upgraded weapons, they were still barely worth anything and he would rather not even do any of this in the first place.

Pendour still didn't really go seeking out the Negaverse. She was coming out in her squire regalia much more often, recently, ready to see what work could be done on this planet, but she was mostly looking for allies so that she could ask questions or answer them. The chaos aura came anyway, darker than the deepest ocean and strangely chill. Pendour froze. It wasn't stronger than her, wasn't a general, but it wasn't faint, either. It was strong enough to take energy, or souls, and dark enough to be plenty broken. Be brave, she told herself. If they were hurting someone, she might be able to do something to change the tide without resorting to violence. She was a squire now, with her own powers, and she'd sworn her oath to Neptune and the Code to do what she could. She summoned her ocarina and checked that she was wearing both her rings, then went to follow the aura. She didn't stumble across any obvious conflict, but she did find a man in strange clothing half-hidden behind some trees. It was hard to quite see his face, but he looked human enough. That was one good sign. Still, Pendour stopped several yards away and swallowed hard before she managed a "Good evening." He was still acting odd, and she wanted to know his business if she could.

Geo practically growled as the other approached. He was pretty sure it was a Knight of some sort, but he didn't really care to tell what level. He was sure that they weren't weaker than he was, and that meant that they could be a problem if she decided to attack him. He shoved the energy orb into one of his pockets and glared at her. "And what's so good about it?" He asked, on edge, ready for her to attack just because of who and what he was. He was a Negaverse Captain. That meant that he would be getting into scuffles more often, especially with Order that decided he was evil just because he was in the Negaverse, and not because he wanted to be in it. He stepped away from the tree and stood tall, arms crossed over his chest, trying to tell her he wanted nothing to do with her just from his body language.

Pendour blinked at his response. She wasn't quite surprised, but she was still a little disappointed. "There's plenty of good if you look for it," she said, soft as soft. She could think of three things just from this one moment. There was the spring breeze and a glimmer of starlight and a bird's evening song from somewhere nearby. She did not point these things out to him. She knew that wasn't really the point of this meeting. When he stepped out, she took a step back, not ready to let him close the distance between them. She thought she saw him putting something in his pocket, but she was mostly looking at his face now that she could see it. Human. He still looked human. She stood up taller and gripped her ocarina tightly. "Um. What's your business?" she asked. "If you're out here to hurt people, I-" she faltered, then swallowed and looked straight into his eyes. "I can't support that." She bent her knees slightly, ready to move if she had to.

Geocronite kept his arms crossed, but relaxed his legs a little, moving into a more relaxed position. At least she seems hesitant to fight, though that may just be a fake-out. He thought to himself. Whatever the case was though, he would run if he had to. "I've already drained energy if that's what you mean. I kind of have to. Don't really have a choice." He mumbled the last part, still annoyed that he was stuck in the middle of all of this. "I should be done though. I don't want to fight so I'll leave if you want me to." For a moment he wondered about her eye, it didn't look like it worked still. And there were scars near it. He wouldn't be surprised if she had gotten that fighting a Youma or something. Exactly the reason he hadn't dared try to make an enemy of the Negaverse. He shrugged. "I don't really care. We're both stuck in this "war" and while I'd rather not participate, I also don't want to be disposed of by the Negaverse. So I do what I have to." It didn't matter at this point if he told her how he felt. After all, he was a Captain, he could feel other signatures better now, and he was pretty sure that no one could hear him that would report back. And if she said anything, who would they believe? Him or her? He doubted it would be her.

For the moment, Pendour kept quiet. There's always a choice, she thought. Always. She saw the glance at her eye and moved too late to turn it out of view. There's just also always a price. Instead of saying so, she just shook her head, slow and sad. There was something about the way he was talking that made her think she should take extra care with her words, that maybe if she did there would be some way to get through to him. "If you don't drain more energy, you can go where you will," she said after a moment of silence, then winced slightly. Even that sounded a little like an order. "I'm not here to say who can enjoy the city at night, and I know that can be safer dressed as you are." Another brief moment passed, and then Pendour took half a step forwards before she could think better of it. "Do you not like the Negaverse?" she asked, because part of being careful meant not dealing in maybes. "You know they'll ask more of you tomorrow." Her voice was stronger, then. She thought a lot about being gentle and soft, but she also wouldn't hide the truth.

"I think you're underestimating the Negaverse." He raised an eyebrow, questioning why the... knight thought that would work. "Why would they leave me alone if I wasn't draining energy? They would be more likely to go after me because I'm not meeting my expected quota." He replied, shaking his head. He had been reprimanded, aka beat, because of it enough times that he didn't want to go through it again. Apparently even carrying scars like she did, the lady didn't seem to know what danger there was. "Of course I don't. I was forced into it." He had made sure to feel around the area to see if he could sense any familiar auras. He couldn't, and he couldn't feel any other chaotic auras either. "And they will... once I'm a General. Quota has been the same for a while now." It appeared that because he was being such a good little Agent that they were keeping off of his back... for now. He knew that if he started to slack again they would be right back to keeping an eye on him at all times. "It's only because I've been doing my duty that they've been keeping off of my back for a bit."

"Oh, the Negaverse will likely try to punish you if you don't follow their orders," said Pendour with a small, sad nod. From what she'd heard, they used the worst of the military brainwashing tactics, the harshest discipline to keep their soldiers to heel. She'd seen how cruel Chaos could make people, and she wasn't even in its clutches the way he was. "And if you stay on the path you walk, my friends will try to punish you for what you do in the name of the Negaverse." Her voice was soft as ever, but her shoulders were square and her eyes locked on his as she half-waited for him to come at her with his weapons. It felt odd, almost like a threat, in her mouth, but it was the truth. People always changed the subject when they learned she didn't like violence, and that was telling in itself. "All I can offer you is one night of peace. Um, I won't follow you. That's what I meant. If you want more peace than that, if you want out of the cycle where you keep getting punished, and hurt," she swallowed, because this was the kind of talk she'd lost an eye for, "You'll have to leave the Negaverse."

Geocronite softened a bit at her words. It was true, they would still continue to punish him, and he would be punished from both sides. "And how would it be any different if I got away?" He would still be punished, dragged into a war that he had never wanted to be in, hadn't known about, and yet had been forced to join all because of that woman. "I don't want to fight you and I'm fine with not fighting you, but I can't leave the Negaverse. There is no way to do so, at least without dying." He had replied with a shrug, his arms still crossed. There was no way, he hadn't been told of any before. It had been hinted to him that there was a way out, but he hadn't been told how. He had assumed they had been lying at that point. If there was a way out of this mess, then why couldn't he be told? It's not like he was going to tell the Negaverse. He wanted to get out of all of this, not stay in and make it harder to leave!

Much of the tension melted from Pendour even as he said he was trapped. He didn't know. That was okay. That was something she could help with. "Oh, you can," she said, the softness coming back, now. "You can leave. You don't have to die for that." Her eyes were soft, too, and her expression was getting closer to a smile. "You'd have to find a Royal Knight, or maybe a Royal Senshi, and there are only a few, but they're out there." She glanced at her signet ring. "There's one I can get you in touch with, even." Her gaze went distant for just a moment as she allowed herself a brief daydream of hand-delivering someone to Camelot for healing. It was, of course, more complicated. He didn't seem angry at her, but he did still seem scared and distrusting and maybe ready to lash out. For now, giving information was enough. "There's a magic called purification they can do. Afterwards, you would have the powers of a knight, and the choice to follow that path or to live a normal life." She did smile, then.

Geocronite couldn't keep his eyes from widening a bit. Someone was actually telling him how to get out of this mess? He wondered for a moment if the Knight was actually telling the truth but... did she have a reason to lie? His face twisted a bit when he heard he would become a knight himself. Not that he wanted to stay in the Negaverse, but, "So I would still be stuck in this mess. Even if I was on the better side." He groaned out, almost making his hand and face meet but deciding against it. "It would be better than staying in the Negaverse, but I'd rather just get out of this whole thing." Not like he could move though. He would just be chased everywhere. He shook his head. "Well, you're the first one who's told me the way to do it, at least the start of it. Maybe you should tell your fellow Order comrades that instead of just saying it can happen and then not telling how." She would probably retort that it was supposed to be kept a secret, but how would others be able to get out of the Negaverse unless they knew the exact way to do so?

"I wouldn't say stuck," said Pendour, the smile fading and going back to that same touch of a concerned frown. "It's true that there's no way to completely get rid of your powers, at least not that I know of, but there would be no pressure for you to use them. We have no quotas." She had her own backs and forths about how she felt about knighthood, and how often she wanted to leave her apartment, and all of that, but lately she'd been finding comfort in having at least the option of magic. "Really? No one else? I'm sorry," she said. He was a captain already. She would have thought that someone should have found him quicker than that. "I'll try to spread the word. Although I've found that many agents get upset about anything that implies they're broken, or in the wrong place, however gentle." Her scars felt painfully obvious and she turned to hide them a little. "Um. Violently upset. Perhaps that's why my friends turn to violence so quickly instead of answers?" She turned back to him and finally offered another smile. "It's a vicious cycle, but I'll do what I can to break it."

Geo felt his shoulders relaxing, but only a little bit. It seemed that this... Squire truly did want to help him. "Well, it's more like they said it could happen but wouldn't say how and then would either turn to violence or leave. Sometimes I was the one that left, but that was after it was clear that I wouldn't receive any information from them that would actually be helpful." It made him a bit angry to be honest. Why was it so hard to just be rid of it. Why was it so hard to want to be rid of the Negaverse? "Can't say I'm surprised at the other Agents. To me, it appears that most of them want to be there. Whether it's a place they feel like they belong, they're plain evil, they think they're the good guys-" How anyone could think that when beatings were a regular thing and they lived somewhere that felt like everything was trying to kill them if they took one step too far the wrong way, "I'd say 90% don't want to leave. I personally didn't find any myself, but then again, they could just be hiding it so they don't get hurt too." He himself had had to act like he at least wanted to stay, though he refused to interact that much. He mostly grunted and nodded along, but that was all. Enough to be seen and show that he "agreed" but not enough to actually get to be a part of their plans.

People had told him about purification without telling him the specifics? "Well, they might not know," said Pendour with a sad little shake of the head. "Our information is very word of mouth. It was just luck that I met a Royal Knight once who told me all this, and even I don't know any more than I've told you." She noticed that she was still holding the ocarina, and she let it vanish from her hands. She didn't need anything that was even the littlest bit a weapon, and then she nodded. "I'll do what I can to change that." She nodded as he spoke about the Negaverse, although in a softer way. "I've heard the use every trick to keep their soldiers loyal," she said. "Violence, yes, but promises, too, promises of things like power and camaraderie." Her lips pressed thin as thin. "They never advertise what they take, do they?" The way the Negaverse treated their own was almost the saddest part of all. "I've met a few people who can see it, anyway," she said. For every person she'd met broken beyond compassion, their had been another who would at least listen to her. "I'm glad to have met you. If you want more information, or, um, help," she paused, because that, too, had been a trigger word, once, "I can try to come back here later, if I can find out anything more."

"No." He had to take a moment to say it. He would have spit it out, thinking about what the Negaverse did but managed to hold back. He was sure that the Squire would have felt threatened by it, as though he would be mad at her. "Of course I didn't join because of the promises. You don't really have a choice when you're forced into it. There are some Order characters who refuse to acknowledge that part of it. I've run into one Senshi who, sorry to say, I wouldn't mind punching again. He acted as though I had a choice and that it would just be easy not to do what the Negaverse wants."Geo shook his head. "If I wanted to die I would have defied the Negaverse long ago, because that's what would have happened. I think they believe I'm too cowardly to sacrifice myself."When she commented that she would be willing to help, one of the corners of his mouth moved upwards. "If you're willing, I would greatly appreciate it. I know it can be hard to trust someone of not only my rank, but because of what we Agents do, but we're not all here willingly. And if more of your Order decided to assess the situation first, not putting yourself in danger though, but observation and defense, you'd find a lot more willing to be on your side, before it's too late." He wasn't sure if it would be too late if he were to become a General, but he certainly wasn't going to stay. He needed to leave, get out of here. stari_maga I uh... lost this somehow and I am so sorry for the late reply!
