Aerial Arts - Alexa did cheerleading for years, but it slowly became too much to juggle a full sport with all of her other responsibilities. Her performance dropped, and eventually she decided to swap it out with something lower pressure that had a more flexible schedule. She found aerial classes, which used some of the same skills but also offered some new challenges, and so far she’s been loving this new way to move and to get off of solid ground. She tries to do about two classes a week, mostly focusing on silks. She’ll occasionally do a taster class for hoop or trapeze if she can.
DIY Fashion - Alexa loves clothes, accessories, makeup, and anything fashion related. She’s wanted to be a fashion designer since she was little, and it’s one of those goals that she’s followed with dogged determination. She slowly taught herself to sew from watching YouTube tutorials, and now she’s decent at it. She’s even better at things like making macrame jewelry and artistically sticking sequins onto things. She’s studying fashion design for real now, but in the meantime she’s also started her own Etsy shop where she’ll list handmade accessories and the occasional kawaii-inspired thrift flip.
Gaming - It started a long time ago with Candy Crush Saga. Then, one by one, Alexa clicked on all the adorable advertisements and now she's hooked on a wide variety of mindless, brightly colored games. She still mostly plays on mobile but she’s been branching out to play the occasional PC-based MMO as well. Community is one of the most important parts of gaming for her, and she only really sticks with games that have some sort of social or multiplayer aspect. Gaming is her cool down and she’ll sink a few hours a night into it as well as more money than she probably should.
Virtues:
Bubbly -- Alexa has a sunshine-y, fun loving personality. She loves being alive and can find excitement in all kinds of places. A beautiful sky or a chat with a friend is enough to keep her in a good mood for hours, and she’s learning to even love some things she used to find tedious. To her, paperwork and projects can be awesome with the right highlighter set. She tries to share the happiness with others, too. She loves her friends deeply and is always up for making more. She’s full of compliments, encouragement, and general enthusiasm for those she likes.
Bright -- She never ended up with the "smart" label back in school, but under some trouble focusing, Alexa has a sharp mind. She’s resourceful. She’s quick. She can think on her feet, and usually she can come up with some kind of creative solution to whatever problem she’s facing, or make some inferences about the bits of information that come her way. She’ll play the longer game if she has to, puzzling things out in the back of her mind for weeks, or searching for answers. She also has a naturally inquisitive nature and over time her curiosity has built up into knowledge. She knows a lot of things about a lot of things, from fun facts to juicy gossip to more serious matters. There’s usually something she can find to have an informed conversation about with people she comes across.
Persistent -- Alexa's ideas are big, exciting, and sometimes impossible, but that doesn't stop her. She throws herself at things that might not even happen with every bit of an enthusiasm she can muster, and she doesn't easily give up on things she wants, even if she's met with discouragement or poor results at first. She'll try things as many times as she has to, in as many different ways as she has to, and often it pays off. She rewrote a paper five times to get an A+ back in her favorite eighth grade class, and through similar hard work, she’s well on her way to being both a fashion designer and a cool magical spy.
Flaws:
Nosy -- Alexa's persistent curiosity can get on people's nerves. She wants to know just about everything about people’s lives and relationships, and she’s hard to dissuade. She can get pushy and even manipulative if she feels like someone’s keeping things from her. There are good reasons not to tell her things, too. Alexa is both a chatterbug and a terrible gossip. She doesn’t spread rumors intentionally, but she’ll chat about people to anyone who will listen and she’ll give away people’s life stories and dark secrets if someone she doesn’t hate even kinda asks.
Immature -- Alexa still struggles with things that a lot of young adults seem to have down. For one thing, her emotional regulation isn’t the best. It’s easy to make her happy, but it’s easy to upset her, too, and she still gets pouty and sullen when things don’t go her way. She’s great in fast paced situations but she either completely shuts down or tries to lighten the mood when things get too serious or boring, or when topics she doesn’t find fun get too deep. Fun is very important to her. It factors into most of her goals. It’s hard for her to care at all, otherwise. She’s trying to find workarounds, like how cute office supplies get her through paperwork, but it’s a slow process full of trial and error. She knows she sticks out among her peers, especially in a military organization, but she can’t really help it so she leans into it instead. She tries to be even more cute and sweet and unique, but that can backfire too and make people respect her even less.
Biased -- Once upon a time, Alexa had herself convinced that the world was perfect and nothing that bad ever really happened. That viewpoint shattered soon after she was introduced to the war, but it was slowly replaced by a different kind of denial. Now she knows bad things happen. They happen because of bad people. She’s developed a very black and white mentality where she puts some people on pedestals and demonizes others. She deeply believes that she is a good person doing her best and that bad things are never, ever her fault. She will ignore things she doesn’t like and heavily cherry-pick evidence long before she will ever take any kind of blame. She has complete faith in her friends, too, and it would take a fairly extreme betrayal for her to start questioning their actions. On the other end of things are people she's decided are "bad", who she has a difficult time listening to, believing, or respecting.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Eyes: A bit larger than average and very round. They're a soft blue violet color.
Hair: Strawberry pink, it falls in waves a little past Alexa's shoulders, but she usually wears it curled under in the back.
Face: Round and young looking. She tends to pass for being in her early teens. She wears a lot of bright, fun, makeup, but has also learned contouring for when she wants to look like a grown-up.
Skin Tone: A healthy looking peach.
Body Type: Tiny. She’s 5’ even and fairly fit in a lithe, acrobatic way.
Clothes: Usually bright and colorful, but well matched and trendy. She likes jackets, tights, tall socks, and handmade accessories a lot. She almost always wears bracelets or something to cover rope scars on her wrists.
