Little Nicole looks up and begs, May I please have more colors for my eggs? I’ve made some orange, pink, green, lilac and blue, I want some salmon, yellow, red, purple too.
She dipped eggs with a flourish, Then dried them on a dish. Some were solid colors, others two-toned, She expected to keep them yet asked for colors to be loaned.
She piled more eggs ‘til the basket was full, She tied a ribbon to hold them, to free them with a pull. Next, mother hid eggs all over the house, But, father was hungry, so some got eaten by mother’s dear spouse.
Nicole was also hungry, hence came the need, To find a few eggs so she could feed. Mother chose wisely, left but a few in plain sight, When Nicole found some candy, she cried in delight!
He was crucified. On the third day He arose. We are forgiven.

A Song of An Easter Tale:
Oh there once was an Easter Basket Sitting on a table near an open window There was a chocolate Easter Bunny and a dozen Cadbury Easter Eggs It looked wonderful just waiting to be eaten
A mischievous fairy flew in through the open window Saw the basket and a mischievous thought flitted thru her mind With a wave of her wand the chocolate Easter Bunny came to life She commanded the Bunny to eat all the Cadbury Easter Eggs
The Bunny obeyed the fairy and ate the eggs With each egg he ate he grew larger By the time he finished the last egg he's gigantic And barely fitted in the Easter Basket
This Easter Basket belongs to some kids named Simon, Peter, Lucy and Ann They showed up to eat their Easter Goodies Simon grabbed the gigantic chocolate Easter Bunny He broke the Bunny apart, divided the pieces up and they devoured it all.

"The Great Easter Egg Heist"
The crook, the thief, the robber Had stolen Eggnellia's eggs A town known for their Easter goods Was found on their knees, ready to beg.
It appeared Easter was cancelled The smiles on their faces fell Tears streamlined across their cheeks Until they heard the sound of a bell.
Dolled up in all of her glory Was none other than Pasty Grey. She stumbled into Town Hall To come and save the day.
"Never fear, my good people," she said with utmost bravery "I'll catch this crook as best as I can Faster than you can say Saul's salads smell savoury!"
With a dash and a wink She left the Hall with the air made pink Using her nose to follow the scent That was always right, one-hundred percent.
Not long after, towards the edge of town She found none other than Old Man Brown.
He tried to get away It was clear that he was tired But in his big ol' sack Were the Easter eggs, nearly expired.
Pasty Grey gave him a slap on the wrist Bringing him back to town He explained that he wanted to surprise his grandkids For he had let them down.
The town gathered and talked Whispering with thought. After much deliberation, They decided it was punishment enough that he got caught.
The next day was Easter, To which Old Man Brown's grandkids were ecstatic to see that the town had created eggs to pop out of a chute that was automatic!
Everyone was happy, No-one was sad that afternoon I guess that you could say That they were all over the moon.

Good question Dudette and I totally forgot about that. You can enter more than one category (one haiku, one short story, etc.) but you can only win once. You can't win 1st and 2nd prize for example cause that'll be unfair for everyone else. Rules updated. Thanks for asking this question. biggrin
