Tinaksite was truly beginning to enjoy the wonder of starseeds. Taking them was easier than she could have ever thought possible, and the feeling she got when she was able to eat them was just…
More than a little intoxicating.
The captain gazed down impersonally at the civilian who’s starseed she had just taken, looking at the little gem in her hand, and then back to the slightly scruffy homeless man. It wasn’t that she had anything against him…but she would make sure that his sacrifice wasn’t in vain. In fact, she felt the aura of a senshi nearby and her face twisted into a scowl.
No, his sacrifice wouldn’t be in vain at all. She would need to make use of this boost.
As she twisted her head around, her eyes landed on the white clad figure and without hesitation, she put the small crystal into her mouth and bit down, feeling the rush of energy fill her.
“Hello Senshi.”

Originally, Bestla would have been perfectly content to leave the officer she'd sensed alone. Provided, of course, that said personage wasn't doing anything that would require her to get involved. As much as she sometimes hated to admit it, she knew that more often than not, a lot of officers were just people trying to muddle along.
Besides, it was no fun to beat on some idiot kid in over their head.
This chick was not in that category. The senshi of faery fire heard the crunch and felt the pit of her stomach drop away. She'd only ever heard gossip about this before. And that had been enough to make her feel a bit queasy. Seeing it happen live made her want to find the nearest bushes to go be violently ill in.
"You," she said in a horrified whisper, "are ******** sick."
Revulsion stamped clearly over her face, she spared a soft, unspoken prayer for the homeless man. She didn't know how story, but she knew deep in her heart that he'd deserved so much more than to have his soul literally destroyed.
As she carefully stalked closer to the officer, she spoke slowly, not bothering to hide her absolute disgust. "You know, speaking as a total stranger, I really hope you ain't got family. I can't think of a worse thing than to be related to a soul eater. Because sooner or later, family is on the menu."
Truthfully, Bestla had no idea if that was even true, but it sounded good and this chick looked on the younger side of things, so it wasn't a bad gamble. And if she could throw the officer off her game a little using words, it might be easier to land a few good hits with her fist.
Hopefully.

Tinaksite watched her, eyebrows raising in surprise and then she laughed. “What? You are unhappy I did not share? I will happily get you one if you are hungry.”
The energy was beginning to buzz through her veins and she grinned suddenly. “You do not understand. Starseeds make you feel alive. I do have family. I will be strong, they will not be harmed.”
It was obvious that she would never harm either of her sisters…but the thought of punishing her mother perhaps…
She shook away the thought, not wanting to have to worry about either of the girls being alone.
After a moment, Tinaksite summoned her flail and began to twirl it in the air. “So…do you have an issue with me?”
If she didn’t have one now…well. There would be an issue after a while. Wolframite had taught her how to be truly aggressive…and she enjoyed embracing it.

"You have completely destroyed a soul and you think it's a good thing?" Bestla asked, fury ringing in her voice. "You're nothing more than a thief, little girl. And the worst kind at that. You stole a fellow human's chance to ever become something better. he will never have a chance to be reborn because of you. You're a theif of possibility. Nothing more than selfish scum."
As she spoke, she turned her tone to one of cruel mockery. Okay, so this chick had a mace. Not the best thing to go up against with flimsy magic. Fortunately, magic was something that she rarely relied on. And given how homeless liked to congregate in the park, she had a few things at hand that could be a weapon. And possibly give Miss Thang here some pause.
Like the lovely, thick little sapling growing only a few feet away.
Moving quickly, she reached the little tree and with one hand tore it from the earth, holding it like a staff and flshing a feral grin at the officer.
"Okay, twinkle tits, let's go."

Tinaksite listened, bored to the senshi’s words, and nothing really stuck. She knew her face looked bored and on the verge of annoyed, and honestly she didn’t care all that much. It was so funny, how she could go from utter passion, to annoyance and something like amusement in such a short amount of time. The term twinkle tits, that gave her pause though, and Tinaksite wrinkled her nose, looking at the senshi in confusion and just a hint of amusement.
“Fine. We go.”
The senshi grabbed a small tree, and the action made the captain laugh. A true belly laugh that surprised her. “A tree? That is cheating!”
…But she liked it.
And it was with a broad grin on her face that she moved swiftly towards Bestla, swinging her flail, clearly not holding back for once.

Eyes narrowed, Bestla made the decision to let the officer come to her. As far as she could calculate, she had the advantage when it came to muscle mass and reach. She was also quite convinced that this creep-a** officer was more than a little koo-koo for cocoa puffs. And she seemed quick on her feet. Better to try and disarm her, even if it wouldn't be for very long, and knock her on her a**.
Having reached this conclusion, the tall senshi kept her eyes on the flail and adopted a stance that would allow her to keep her balance fairly well. Holding the baby tree, she watched and waited for half a breath before swinging her makeshift weapon up to catch the blow of the flail, letting gravity and physics do their job of tangling the two items for a moment.
Then, with a beatifically serene smile, she raised one leg up and lashed out, hoping to kick the officer in the gut even as she pushed out with her tree trunk staff.

Tinaksite had never been one to think about her actions, and even though she had gotten noticeably stronger, and far more vicious of a fighter, using her head was still not something she had mastered. Nor did she have much inclination to do so.
The kick connected with her gut, as her eyes were too focused on the tree in the other woman’s hand to bother noticing the utterly unwelcomed foot, and with a grunt of pain and frustration, the Captain stumbled backwards.
Hate was burning in her eyes as she looked back up at the senshi and with the strength of the starseed she had eaten coursing through her veins, she once again ran at Bestla, her flail raised to strike, but this time, teleported as she got close, coming up from behind the larger woman and aiming right for that pretty head of hers.
“Stupid!”
Tinaksite had to admit, even if this move didn’t work, she still felt quite badass.

Though she would never give the officer the pleasure of knowing that she was mentally echoing the insult, Bestla cursed herself soundly as the officer was there one moment, gone the next and then suddenly there again and too close to properly defend against.
But that didn't stop the senshi from trying her best, bringing up her makeshift weapon in a futile attempt to block the metal flail. Unfortunately, saplings hadn't been designed to withstand metal flying under the power of starseed consumption madness. Even as she heard and felt the wood splinter under the blow, she felt her heart sink and the world around her seemed to crawl at the pace of molasses. The baby tree was too close to her face. She felt the flail strike, felt bone crack even as bits of woody shrapnel combined with physics to slice into the side of her face. But that she could have dealt with. What she could never have planned for was the largest splinter of the bunch being propelled into her eye and effectively turned half of the world dark.
Screaming in mingled pain and utter fury, Bestla felt liquid warmth trickling across her cheek. This was not a fight that she could win and in her heart, she knew that if she tried, she'd be dead. Stupid and very, very dead. Which meant a desperation gambit.
Her inarticulate screaming morphed into a screaming call for her magic. There was no time for finesse. One hand flew to her face even as the other cupped to recieve the magic. Moving quickly, she reached out, hoping to grind the tiny, glowing spores into the officer's face, temporarily blind her... Or at least startle her enough to back away. And hey, she'd be super nice and helpful and give the assist an assist by kicking out as hard as possible.
Jut back off, b***h, she thought desperately. Back off enough for me to get away. I refuse to become a statistic.
All she needed was half a breath and she could escape.
Quote:
Super Sailor Scout Attack: Fairy Fires Alight Effects - Sailor Bestla cups both hands and calls up a slightly larger mound of glowing fairy fire spores in the palm of her hand which she then blows at an enemy. Anyone caught in the spores (within a 10 foot radius) will be illuminated for 30 seconds and will feel an oddly cold (but very mild) burning sensation if the spores strike bare skin. Bestla is able to use this ability 2 times per battle.

The move worked…and to a greater extent than Tinaksite had ever dreamed that it would. Honestly, the whole thing left her stunned, and when the magic was called, the captain did nothing to fight against it, hissing as the slight pain that it caused.
There was a lot of blood.
Taking starseeds was never this bloody.
For a moment, Tinaksite remained, and then she teleported again, getting as far away from this senshi as she could. She didn’t want to be tied to this…and she would keep it to herself. This victory wasn’t something she would go and shout about.
…Though. There was a small, deep part of her that was utterly and completely delighted with what she had done.
Though that part wasn’t quite loud enough to matter.
