Kyuseisha no Hikari

Sailor Dubhe's steps were fairly bouncy anf vheery as she walked aloing the paths through Destiny City. She liked powering, she liked being in a position ti help people, and was she afraid to use her magic? Not on anyone. War or bo war, people deserved a kind hand and gentle words. That said, she was far more used to the company of Sailor Laodica to any other powered, but she hadn't seen her in a long time, and so the senshi was out and alone walking a patrol, hoping she wasn't attacked. She didn't know why they were fighting anyhow -- chaos had a right to life too.

But.. But then, Yolie had never met many order members if any. She was quietly worried they aboided her, and while the thought was sad, Yolie was all too happy to try making friends with anyone anyways. She was a healer by magic after all, and weren't medical persdonael bound by the Hippocrativ oath? Yes. Yes they were, and the blonde was going to do her best to harm none.

Sailor Dubhe gave a sigh as she paused in the park, sitting on a bench and withdrawing a lunch pack from near the bow on her back that she'd packed before powerting, and withdrew a sandwich, nibbling PBJ and looking about as she felt the auras of the area.

A lovely day, really.

The park was a common enough place for all members of the war to pop in and out--and tonight was no exception for Dark Mirror Sailor Arnica. He was only a basic senshi but didn't quite carry himself in the way that someone still fairly new to the Court would--he was a curious creature and wanted to get out and learn.

It was a fairly cool night; he had slipped out of a well-hidden mirror nestled between two trees and unkempt shrubbery. It took a few seconds of brushing back branches and leaves for him to make his way out of the mirror but when he did he simply smoothed out his outfit and dislodged any of nature's gifts.

There was another energy signature nearby and, when it didn't seem particularly threatening, he found himself unable to conceal his curiosity and meandered towards it. Blonde hair appeared in his line of vision--someone sitting on a bench, looking like they were trying to settle down and have a snack.

He didn't want to interrupt, but he wasn't going to just pop up on their radar and disappear--that was just creepy and more unsettling.

Arnica had approached from behind but he made no secret of his presence; as he approached, he kept his hands in his pockets. There wasn't anything particularly threatening about him, but when he was in reasonable speaking range he greeted, "Nice night for a picnic. Wish I'd thought of that."

Dibje bkinjed consideringly when she felt another aura, but didn't dare bother rising to fight. Instead she lppked into her back consideringly -- if they weren't hostile, she felt no need to be rude, and when Arnoica spoke, she beamed happily, looking back over her shoulder with a warm smile.

"Well! You're certainly more than welcome to join me if you like! I did pack extra in case I met others tonight, and it's aleways nice to have company when you're out patrolling! Myy name's Sailor Dubhe, what's yours?"

The blonde was bright, happy to meet the other senshi regardless of his aura -- she wasn't one to fight unless attacjed, and the girl was more than pleased to produce a few more sandwiches and a large bag of chips, motioning invitingly before looking for the tea jug. She felt no reason to deny the man food if he was friendly and she has it -- he wasn't an enemy!

Arnica seemed a little surprised by the blatant warmth and friendliness she expressed. "Oh? It's nice to meet you, Sailor Dubhe."

He continued until he was within a more reasonable distance and extended a hand. "I'm Arnica. I have to admit, I don't think I've met a Senshi as friendly as you."

He didn't tell her that he hadn't really had an opportunity to meet many people--yet--but he wasn't any less grateful that she was showing such kindness. Maybe he was feeling a little too trusting, or maybe it was just that she looked like she had no ill-intent in her, but he took a seat next to her.

"Are you sure it's all right?" he asked, gesturing to the sandwich. "If I take it, I'll have to make it up to you. Next time I'll have to bring something for you."

Dubhe was delighted to shake Arnica's hand and offered a smile as well, befoiore settling to begin splitting things.

"Oh, you don't need to worry. I'm always happy to meet another senshi! I mean, we're all in this war we didn't srt, and even nif we're all kinds of different, I've never been given a reason to fight anyone eelse for no reason unless I'm attacked. It doesn't seem right to fight because somebody says someone else is bad, you know?" She sighed, thinking. She knew her mother's husband had been bad, and she hated him without a meeting, buit most people? No, she had no reason to hatye them, and the blonde smiled on, refraining from a chuckle.

"You don't owe me anything. I like to share!"

Arnica listened to her curiously; he hadn’t heard much from other warriors in the war outside of his own Court so it was with great interest that he listened to her. He wasn’t personally invested in this outside of knowing that he wanted to do right by his sister and be there to protect her. He watched as she split things and nodded.

“That’s a good logic. Besides, you don’t know what someone else can do. Best to stay on their good side, I should think.” It was the logical thing, in any case. “Who do they tell you is the bad guy?” he asked as he watched, seeming genuinely curious and eager to have this opportunity to speak with someone outside of his own faction.

Sailor Dubnhe looked thoughtfcvful several moments. She wanted to be hoinest with Arnica, considering they were talking, and the blonde finally drew out the answer slightly.

"I wasn't giuven much to go on. I've gotten the impression the people with auras like your, but I don't think having a different aura alone ius a fair reason. There's never been much reason to fight -- but someone... Well, I think with a weapon? So not a senshi -- attacked me once and I lost my composure on them. But I don't have reason to attack other senshi, like I said." A shrug. "The fact everything is vague and ill explained isn't really helpful. It feels like we're all fighting for some select few who can't do their own dirty business." And THAT thought drew a face from the Order senshi, the girl scowling a biut as she shook her head.

"The big difference from the army countries have is I'm not sure any of us have much say. And then this whole space... Thing." Dubhe motioned skywards, and sighed. "I'm afraid I don't have a complete picture and I don't like that. I kind of got an awakening, then off went the cat."

That drew another pause as she made a face again. "I al;most wonder if the cats are the real problem. Normal cat's don't talk... What about you? What have you been told,. if I may ask?"

Mortre information meant a better idea of what was with all the magic, really.
PostPosted: Sat May 23, 2020 10:48 am

"I don't know if I'd say that cats are the problem in any sense of the word. Although, I wasn't exactly asked before one was trying to awaken me. It was...complicated. There was a cat, and a mirror, and," he just exhaled and shook his head. "I don't know. It all happened so fast. It wasn't fair, I'll say that at least. They should give you a disclaimer about what you're getting into before they decide that you should be fighting for them, I think. But it's too late for any of that now, I suppose."

He pursed his lips just slightly in thought and mulled over her words. "To be honest, I don't know what I've been told. I got the information from my sister, who was awakened quite a bit before I was. But from what I can gather it seems like we're all trying our hardest to be on the same page, but everyone keeps changing the rules. I'm still fairly new, in the grand scheme of things. I'm sure there are plenty of people out there that I haven't met yet. My job is just to gather a bit of energy--not enough to hurt anyone--and return it to the mirror. I think we're trying to create our own world, to be honest. Not destroy this one, or anything like that. Just...make our own."

Sailor Dubhe listened carefully, slowly eating a sandwich in deep thought, letting Arnica speak freely before she swallowed and smiled cheerily.

"There's no hjarm in seeking your own world if the ones afforded you don't feel like home." Dubhe said, ands shook her head.

"I can't imagine any of my family awakening, but I do agree it should be a chopice. And so should our side. Right now it ferels like we're forced into this. I've been powered a couple years, but I'm more casual than I ought be in terms of training."

She considered, and wheeled the topic back to his faction.

"A liottle bit is less harmful than a lot." She'd been drained once in a fight, and she did not care for the experiance. But a little might be okay, if it helped others find a world that felt they belonged in.

And Sailor Dubhe was always glad to help people.

"If it's only a litytle bit, I don't mind donating to help you and yours before we seperate and after food. If this world and the stars don't make you happy, and you can do something about where you live, then it's not a bad thing seeking to build your own world and I don't mind helping a constructive cause/." She smiled warmly. "You sound like you'd need to take far less than some bozo with a catnip mouse half-draining you in a fight."

Seriously, that had nearly put her out.

Arnica nibbled on the food she had provided as he listened to her. Her offer to give him some energy made him quirk his head to the side a bit; he had to swallow before he spoke again.

"That's incredibly altruistic of you to volunteer your energy. I wasn't even going to ask. That's very generous of you and--to be honest--I'd appreciate it. Perhaps, one day, I could take you into Mirorrspace and show you what that energy goes towards. Though, I confess, I'm not strong enough to do so now. I can't even get in, myself. I don't know if it's common to take anyone outside of Dark Mirror Senshi there, but..."

He considered this for a moment. "...I don't see why it would be a problem, especially if they are kind and trying to help us with our own cause...Although, I have to confess--it does sound like you've got quite a story behind that last part--some bozo with a catnip mouse?" he asked, not bothering to hide the amused smile that danced across his face.

"I like helping. There's a lot that would be less or not a problem if people worked together. I justy see no reason to fight unleress I must." Dubhe fished out some chips and offered him some with a smile.

"I'd actuaslly love to see that. I've seen my world... It's.. Something. Eerie, but if you wanted to see, I could try taking you. I think that's possible." Dubhe coponsidered. It sounded possible. She was the ferryman right? So she'd take the people she liked. Like Arnica -- he was a nice person. At his laugh,.. she smiled and giggled.

"I know, I know, the phrasding is -- special -- but I diodn't like what they tried to do. It's not fun being attacked for the fascctionm I awakened to." She sighed then.

"So I suppose I'm just a softie."
PostPosted: Mon Jun 15, 2020 10:07 am

Arnica accepted the chips and ate; he didn't seem like one to waste anything and politely thanked her again. "No, I suppose it wouldn't be 'fun' to be attacked for something you had no say in. No choice in. I didn't agree to be awakened, so I sympathize with that. To be honest, when it first happened, I thought I was crazy. I'm still not sure that I haven't lost it. And I'm still mad that I got dragged into all of this. Still," he exhaled and leaned back. "What a story."

He mulled it over for only a few seconds before his eyes were back on her. "I'm actually really interested in that, though. I mean--a homeworld. Or whatever the senshi call them. A planet that you can walk on, something that exists in space, something real. I mean--yeah, I'd love to get out there. I'd love to see...I mean, don't you think it's interesting? What if--if things were different, maybe Earth would have been a dead planet and we'd all be living on one of the worlds out there, you know? ...Whole civilizations and cultures and things, lost to time. Different from anything here on Earth. I don't know." He shrugged and took another bite. "I wanted to be Indiana Jones a little bit, when I was a kid. Sort of feels like all the good mysteries got solved already. Being a journalist," he didn't think that was too much to reveal, "I don't know. Feels like you're scraping the surface and playing pretend, sometimes."

"I... Stopped trying to think about it." Dubhe admitted and smiled awkwardly. "There's too much going on in the powered world for me to process, sometimes." She did, however, soften from awkward to sympathewwtic, though, and sighed.

"I'm sorry you feel trapped. If there was anything I can do, I would. But, you can always find me, if you want someone to talk to about things, even if they're vague to protect youer loved ones." The girl finally smiled again.

"I mean... All of this? People shouldn't face it alone, or without support. It gets heavy[/.i] and that's not fair for any one person to endure." Dubhe settled, listening as she nibbled at her chips thoughtfully.

"I can bring you on my next trip to my homeworld, II think, if you'd like/." Dubhe offered, and then seemed to turn serious. "I'm not sure what hapopened entirely, but it's like life stopped in-situ... As if one moment there was life and the next, bombs. Kind of looks like a post apocalyptic landscape, really."
PostPosted: Sun Jun 28, 2020 6:20 am

Arnica considered for a moment and then shrugged. "I suppose," he agreed, though he wasn't even quite sure what he was agreeing to. It was better than the silence, at least. Dubhe wasn't unfriendly, and it wasn't that he didn't appreciate her words--only that this was such a big picture and he was such a small part of it.

"Some people are stronger than others, I suppose," he said after a few seconds. "Maybe there are people out there who are perfect for it. Who don't need allies, or guidance, who don't care about the answers. Or maybe they already have them. I'm not sure."

Another shrug, as if to dismiss his thoughts.

"I'd like to go, though. To your homeworld. I don't know if I've got one, but...it seems like a shame to miss out on an opportunity like that. I won't be up to no good, I promise. I can take a back seat to whatever you want to do. I can respect your world. Like a museum, right?"

"I always feel erveryopne deserves at least one good ally. Life's just toio unpredictable to go in blind and clueless." Sailor Dubhe seemed thoughtful a moment. "And if someone does have all the answers, they're not sharing with the rest of us, so they're probably not very nice, in my view." Dubhe sighed, shaking her head safly at the notion.

"Unless we know what we need about why we're fighting -- not some arbitrary amound -- I mewan all the facts, not what someone who THINKS they know better - then trhere's no reason to fight. You're not hurtiong anybody. I'm not huing anybody, so, I see no reason to fight. And if someone kind does have answers and cares, they should be sharing with the rest of us. All of us, all sides." Sailor Dubhe sighed, and looked terribly apologetic. "I'm sorry for ranting, I just... I've never been one to go into something without a good reason. I try to be the sort of person I want to see in the world and I like people. Sometimes I just get frustrated wiith a lack of guidance or organization, and it feels like all ther senshi on my 'side' as we'll call it... They're focused on so much going on that there's nobody out there to help others. So... If that's something people needm it should be filled. And since I see no reason to fight, I want to offer a shoulder and my strength to people who justy want to do good by people, even uif it's a small group who don't want to hurt people out of maliciousness. Aah, I'm sorry for rambling."

She l,looked genuinely embarressed for talking his ear off sbout thinks, and then when the topic returned to homeworlds, she smiled warmly.

"I don't mind if you want to explore. It's pretty big, even if everyuthing is bleached out in the open air by now. Therte's nothing living there, and the only thing I'd not touch are the bnones... In the spaces there are bones. It's kind of..." Shwe shuddered. "It doesn't seem like the happiest world in the ggaLAXY. bESIDES, YOU'RE MY GUEST." tHEN, SHE CONSIDERED IN SILENCE, BEFORE OFFERING A SOFT LOOK. "yOU KNOW, IF YOU DON'T HAve a homeworld, I don't mind sharing, if there was a way. They're called 'home' worlds, right? Well.. That dioesn't nmean I shouldn't be allowed to shjare that home with others whom might lackj. We're all in this univertse together, adfter all. And I believe in trusting until proven you can't."

And Dubhe took a LOT to prove trust wants misplaced.
