          Just run...

Frosted just ran and ran and ran until she could not run anymore. Her little legs started to shake and she could barely catch her breath, but she finally thought she was far enough away from her that big scary wolf. She had been playing hide and go seek with her brother, or so she thought when next thing you know, quite some time had passed when she finally heard a noise. Thinking her pup brother was coming out to find her, a huge wolf with a big toothy grin came in and sniffed her out. When he made eye contact with her, she just ran. And now she was lost, absolutely lost.

          Where am I?

She thought to herself as she started to barely regain her strength. She felt like she could not move her little paws anymore. Laying in some brush, her pinkish eyes scanned the horizon. The cold scent of the sea breeze wafted into her nostrils. With a sideways look, she thought that has not run that far but it seems that she might have. Laying down in the thicket of a bush, she recalled what had happened.

Her brother had told her, while they were playing that she was the problem child, with her weird looking coat and eyes. Normal pups did not look like that. She started to whimper but quickly hushed herself. She didn't know if that other wolf had followed her, or if there were any other animals in the area that would kill her.

She curled herself into a little the bottom of the sticks of the barren bush and buried into the snow. The pup was trying to fight off sleep but before she knew it, her eyes started to shut. She hoped she was hidden enough in the snow if she did doze off. Fighting to keep her eyelids open, they started to feel like sandbags. The adrenaline that had coursed through her body while she ran had worn off and the exhaustion was setting in. Closing her eyes, she started dreaming of a better place where she was not made fun of and if her family did not want her, she would find someplace that would.
