For many a pae currently living in Partayzia, being awake before the sun was past the midday point in the sky may have been considered too early. But Asher prided himself at being an 'early riser.' Sure, by early that typically meant the mid- to late-morning, but relatively speaking... yeah, early.

This morning, he was sitting at the end of one of the piers that went out from the shoreline, naturally situated a little ways away from the settlement to lessen the likelihood a naiad would find themselves entangled, his line cast into the water. To his side he had a small tub of worms to use as bait. Sure, he was aware that it wasn't necessarily the best time of the day to catch anything, but that would have been too early, even for him. And anyways, this was more something he did to relax and pass the time.

Priscilla scowled into the sunlight as she made her way down toward the water. It was far too early to be awake and yet here she was, unable to go back to sleep. She knew her brother would be awake, as it was actually something he enjoyed doing.

Weirdo. At least as far as most citizens of Partayzia were concerned. Sure, there were the breakfast vendors and what not, but most of their residents slept during the day and did their work and play at night. Priss was lucky she had the night off or she would be really pissed that she couldn't sleep.

She yawned as she came up to the dock, seeing Asher at the end of the pier. "Thought I'd find you here, Asher," she said. "Catch anything yet?"

As his sister approached, Asher turned to acknowledge her with a wave of his own. "Nah, not really." This wasn't all that usual - for how often he did it and as much as he actually had read up on techniques and whatnot, he actually kind of sucked. The reason he kept at it was cause of the calming effect.

Maybe he ought to get a real hobby at some point, maybe something he was okay with.

"What're you doing up this early?" Again, in a relative sense. He motioned to a pile of 'rent a poles' positioned towards the side of the docks for tourists to make use of. "Wanna join?" It'd been some time since they'd had time to just, you know, hang out and all.

She cut her eyes at the piles of poles that Asher indicated. What the hell? She didn't have anything better to do. She grabbed a fishing pole and dropped a few coins into the receptacle before making her way back to the edge of the dock.

"Couldn't sleep," she answered him with a yawn. She scrubbed a hand through her bangs before taking a seat next to her brother. It had been a while since the last time she and Asher had just hung out together, but she remembered how to bait a hook.

She cast her line and sighed softly, hoping they were far enough out to avoid the naiads. "So, what have I missed with you lately?" she asked him with a chuckle.
