There was at least one harpy teenager that was hiding by a specific house in Breeheart village, sneaking, as it were. While she normally was sent with the others to collect materials - namely baskets and pots - today she was here alone. Alone and one a mission.

A mission...

For cookies!

See, Mossy/Kalina here had befriended one of the locals some time ago while she was a child, and oftentimes they would meet to exchange sweets. Well, more like they would generally feed the harpy sweets. BUT Kalina got cookies out of it, so she didn't really mind all that much. They never really agreed upon meetups, but usually she'd be noticed pretty quickly if she was hiding around outside; what was it that gave it away? Not that it was a bad thing. Faster cookies then.

Peony had been minding her own business as usual, which for her was quite frankly up in everyone’s business unless she was tasked with a chore or job by Ty. Which today she would have been.... buuuuuuut a mishap in the kitchen caused everyone to have to flee from the smoke while Bree and co attempted to air out and fix the pink whisp’s attempt at ‘baking.’

The pink creamy whisp, (that looked oddly like Ty and no one dared to mention it), floated about a bit mournful, her tiny face downtrodden and sad, her antenna drooping along with her tail. “Oh biscuits.” She sighed to herself, bringing her pale pink hands to her matching pale pink cheeks. “You dun dun it this time Peony! They’ll never let you back in the kitchen!” She fretted to herself, sighing loudly.

She would have continued on this path, floating into who knew what when something caught her eye.

Glancing over just in time to catch sight of a white, green and blue featherd figure, Peony suddenly let out a very lout gasp, flung herself directly into the birds path and grew to the size of a teen pae all at the same time. “OOOOHHHHH HI HI HIHIIIII!” She screeched loudly.

Kalina/Mossy jumped in an obviously-excited manner at the sound of a familiar voice from behind her before turning to wave with a big ol' grin on her face. "HIHIHIHIHIIIIIIIIIII! HI PEONYYYYYY" She screeched back as she half-ran, half-flew over to give her 'friend' a hug in greeting. While some might have been intimidated by the thought of a harpy initiating physical contact, Kalina/Mossy had grown up with the somewhat-diligent eye of both of her parents in a semi-stationary lifestyle, which had largely beat out many of the nasty habits of others of her kind.

In particular, she didn't show the same hostility as her Auntie Saira or any other harpies for that matter.

She let go to take a step back and show off a now slightly-crushed pansy flower. "LOOK! IT'S PRETTY FLOWER." Unfortunately, she took after her father with regards to speech eloquence. "FLOWER FOR YOU."

Maybe she should stop yelling? Nah. Kalina/Mossy was too darned excited for that.

A bubbling laughter escaped the whisps mouth as she hugged the lil chick back, patting her on the head. She glanced around again before leaning forward. "Sorry I don't have a cookie right now... I made a oopsies of the kitchen." she said, her face turning down again. A small single tear rolled down her cheek for added effect....

...and then probably sucked back up her cheek at the sight of the flower. She took it, shoving her nose into it and taking a big ol whiff. "Mmmmm MMMMM smells so good! Thank you MossMoss." she cooed, leaning forward to giggle and rub her check against the other's. "Ok well now I just HAVE to get you a cookie. I wonder if TyTy has some....." she stopped and peered back around. Things had seemed to calm down and the smoke was a lot less, she couldn't see it and certainly couldn't smell it now as it continued to drift upwards. Could be safe...

Kalina looked absolutely delighted by the hug and head-pat - she LOVED head-pats. Especially when the head-pats came from Peony or TyTy, those were the best ones. Almost as good as the cookies.

Almost.

Kalina tilted her head and frowned at her friend's saddened demeanor, immediately picking up on it and wanting to cheer her up. "NO COOKIE OKAY! Peony okay...? OH!" This is when she remembered about, and immediately produced the pansy flower she'd picked on her way over to the village. It was a gift for her friend, but now it would be a better gift to cheer her up!

And yay she liked it! Kalina was practically beaming at the positive response, an expression that might have unnerved someone unfamiliar with her black sclera and otherwise meaner features. Thank goodness Peony was feeling better now! She giggled as their cheeks rubbed - it tickled but it felt nice. "TyTy has cookies? Today? But kitchen is oopsies. So no cookies?" She once again tilted her head as she processed the new information and a smile reformed. "Cookies are tasty! I like cookies! But I LOVE Peony! And TyTy too! And EVERYBODY too!" Her wings flapped happily behind her - she was just really happy to see Peony and see that Peony was now feeling happy too.

Mossy's demeanor was always invigorating to Peony and she loved the seemingly boundless amount of energy she gave off. It meshed well with her own silly bouts of energy and she practically felt herself doing cartwheels on the inside. "We love you too MossMoss! Cutest chick EVUR!" she nodded, taking the harpy by the hand and giggling.

She brought a finger to her lips and imitated a hushing noise as she crept forward towards a window that looked in on the kitchen. It was now wide open and only a tiny bit of tendrils seeped out now into the air. There was a small lingering scent of burning but it was quickly replaced by the smell of fresh baked bread and sweets. "Mmmmm...." she whispered to herself before glancing back down at Mossy.

"Wait here, I can try to sneak in the window!" she grinned before her body seemed to shift and change shape, becoming smaller and smaller, about the size of a butterfly. She giggled in a teeny tiny voice then disappeared through the window.

Mossy trilled in absolute delight as her own happy feelings were reciprocated in full and she happily returned Peony's handholding with a playful squeeze of her own. Visiting the village really was one of her most favorite things to do - she was happy that her family lived nearby and that they all got along.

Otherwise she would have never gotten to be friends with Peony and TyTy!

And how sad would that have been? Very.

She mimicked the 'quiet' motion with one of her own before the snuck on over towards the kitchen counter, and she crouched down where appropriate to avoid being seen. It took quite a lot of self control to keep from giggling, but the bright smile of hers clearly displayed how much fun she was having. She furrowed her brows slightly, her smile now full of determination, before she nodded and gave a thumbs up. "Okay. Mossy will wait here! You got this! Peony!" Her voice was just a touch too loud to really be a whisper, but an attempt had been made at least.

Peony knew all the best places to hide in the kitchen in her tiny size. She had done this so many times before that a smug and excited grin spread across her face. She stiffled a giggle as she flit around an incoming hand and waited behind a salt and pepper shaker near a freshly set out batch of cookies.

The smell was always fresh and new to her and she just LOVED when Ty made his animal cookies. Her favorites were the birds because they reminded her of Mossy and her other favorites were the kitties because they reminded her of Cocoa. But the BEST ones were the elephants because hearing a random trumpet echo somewhere in the village was just hilarious to her.

Still, for Mossy, she always tried to steal the best looking cookie of the bunch. For this batch it looked like a little dog with a happy curled tail.

She waited for the right moment to strike, when all had left the kitchen. The tiny butterfly sized whisp had trouble picking up the cookie at first and had to use both arms AND legs to steady it before floating heavily back towards the window. She had barley made it to the sill before her wings gave out. Luckily she managed to both swing her legs out and grow at the same time to land next to Mossy, albeit on her butt.

Giggling, she handed the cookie over to the chick and grinned, giving the other a thumbs up.

Whilst Peony's stealth operations were underway, Mossy took position to provide security from the rear ... sort of not really. It didn't take long for her to grow tired of crouching and instead sit her feathery bootie down, back against the side of the building, and her eyes looking up at the clouds. Combined with the fun she'd been having and the yummy smell surrounding her, she was left with a fully-content sort of feeling.

What a nice day it was.

Soon enough, her eyelids had grown heavy from the warmth, and the harpy settled in for a nice, albeit short-lived, nap.

The feeling of her friend quite literally bumping against her side jolted her right awake, and she looked over with a momentarily confused sort of air before she saw the cookie and remembered their great cookie-stealing plan. Her features lit up with a big ol' grin as she received the treasure and returned a thumbs-up of her own. It was at this moment she realized there was only one cookie... for the two of them. She pouted, concerned why Peony hadn't gotten one for herself, before her smile returned with the bestest of good ideas.

"Let's share!" Her whisper wasn't very whisper-like as she broke the spoils of their escapade in half and handed a piece over to Peony.

Oh.

Peony hadn't even thought about bringing one for herself. It was hard enough to carry just the one cookie back out in her small size and she was mostly focused on feeding Mossy anyways. "Well... I was focused more on you." she said, reaching over to gently pat the chick on the head.

The offer to share made her smile and she leaned over to wrap her arms around the chick in a big warm hug. "You are just the sweetest little Mossmoss ever!" she smiled, taking the half cookie. "Any time you want cookies you just let me know. I will sneak to the ends of the earth!" she said, a bit loud before chomping down on the cookie.

The next thing that came out of her mouth was a shrill "WOOF!" before she laughed, which was just a bit more dog barking. She loved the effects of Ty's cookie powers. A part of her was a bit sad her already short time of animal sounds would be shorter since the cookie had been halved.

Ty had known for a while where Peony had snuck off too. He was just glad to have gotten her out of the kitchen after her last attempt at "helping." Still, he had to sigh. Breeheart wasn't exactly the place to just adopt all the lost chicks. At least, it wasn't supposed to be.

His mom didn't seem to mind children around and seeing her happy after all those years of her being gone.....well he wasn't about to take her happiness away again.

Still, what he could do, was scold Peony and Mossy.

Leaning out the window, he cleared his throat and simply glanced down at the two, arms crossed but resting on the window sill as he watched the pink stripped wisp bark and yap like a ankle sized dog. "Peony....."

Mossy continued to grin as she received the headpats - she loved when Peony gave her such patting of the heads. She loved with TyTy did so too, but in a different way. Peony's patting was like, soft and fluffy, while TyTy's was like... less soft and more floofy. Did that make any sense? No. Not really. But it was what the teenaged harpy felt deep in that little domesticated heart of hers.

She really liked the pae here.

Mossy giggled and about snuggled into Peony's hug as she repeated back, "No! Peony's the sweetest of the Peonies! And I'll always be here to help with sneaking cookies~!" The premise of keeping their voices down was entirely for naught at this point - she was almost speaking more loudly than normal out of her passion for her bestest friend and cookies!

And thus, she threw her half of the cookie right into her mouth with a big ol bite... right as TyTy caught them crumb-handed.

That said, she didn't really conceptualize that they were possibly in trouble right now. After all, she and her sister and cousin had once been quite the little bucket-thieves, so she still had a hard time understanding that you couldn't or shouldn't just take what you wanted. She was improving, but it was more like training a dog than actually internalizing the reasoning.

She looked up at him with a big grin and waved, opening her mouth to say, 'AND MOSSY!' but, what came out was simply, "YIP WOOF!" She looked over to make eye contact with Peony before breaking into some distinctly-canine laughing.

Having been caught, the pair of troublemakers promptly skedaddled off, giggling and barking all the way, the remnants of their prize in-hand.

Ah... what a wonderfully-peaceful afternoon for the otherwise quiet village.
