Something was cold, wet, sticky, and not right. The smell was of damp earth and mildewy plant life that has been decaying in water. But that couldn't be right at all.Chenoa's tries to open her eyes but finds she cant. Something thin cold and sticky has cakes them closed. Its mud.her mind tells her But where did the mud come from? And why am I covered in it? As the fog in her mind began to clear Chenoa remembers the events that transpired before the black out.

The bird that had grabbed her, being carried far from home, biting her way to freedom, and being dropped. And with that closing thought her right leg begins to hurt. Not sure if it was simply a bruise or a broken born, Chenoa stands on it to test it use. "AAAA!" the pain is like a hot fire rode and sends her falling back into the mud. Yep it broken Looking around Chenoa searches for a less mud area to get to that's not to far since she has to crawl there.

To the left and 20 ft from where Chenoa lay is a small dry island. Relief at finding an island she can get dry on is shot lived since she has to some how get over there with her broken leg. Pulling herself across the muddy swamp takes much longer then she though and the engry she uses leaves her spent by the time she reaches the island. Digging a little oval whole in the dry dirt near the roots of the only tree on the island, Chenoa nests in. Not much I can do right now. the pain is more intense but now she doesnt have to move for awhile so she silently Hope's it will dissipate. It doesnt take long for sleep to find her as the darkness closes in. Her last thought and prayer goes out to the Grandfather Tree that she is safe for the night.

It had been three weeks since Betty Bay had had her vision at the Grandfather Tree and been bestowed the gift of Vivify. She was happy it was over really but also scared. She had not really had an opportunity to use her newly bestowed gift and was not sure she would be any good at it let alone be any help to any creature.

Her father had seen this worry on her face even after they had made the three day journey home. He had told her just before they got home that "The gift bestowed on a noul is both a blessing and a curse sometimes. It's hard to know where the wind might take you but we have to trust that our gift will guide us straight and true." Betty was sure he was right after all he was older and wiser but why was it taking so long to find her way even with her gift upon her.

Betty Bay woke from a very vivid and scary dream that she was falling. Just before she hit the ground which was sure to be most painful she woke up. The adrenaline raced throught her veins and she had the strongest notion to run as fast as she could to the south. From behind her her fathers voice spoke with wisdom beyond even his years "Do not ignored the call of a creature in need. Follow and you will be guide." with only a moment more of hesitation she was gone running as fast as her legs would carry her with no real idea where she was going.

She could smell it before she saw it and she remembered the stories her father and grandfather had told about a smell so rank that it could kill. She had never believed it to be true but she now knew the stories to be much more then stories. The Blackbriar Bog was her destination if she keep on this path. Stoping she listens flicking her ears back a forth hoping for a change in direction will she waits but none is offered.

Starting off again she steps in the first of many to come mud bogs. The mud is sticky and smell like rotting corpse. With every step iit clings to her fur and each pause threatens to suck her deep to the bottom. Moving on her is more alter then she has ever been, looking for the creator that called to her. It was the better part of an hour before she spotted the white Jack hop on the small island in the middle of the bog. The Jack hop was half covered in the same mud that clung to her and still curled into a ball sleeping.

"Hello are you ok? she asked as she made her way up the island and near the Jack hop. The hop makes no movement at first and worry wells up inside Betty's heart. Am I to let? Did I really fail already before I even used my ability? Before her fear for the hop gets the better of, Betty lays next to it and can know see the poor thing is breathing but in a deep sleep. Betty can also see that one of the hops hind legs in at a very unnatural angle. Aww it leg must be broke. Well I dont think I can totally heal that but maybe I can speed the process up." With a deep breath in, Betty clears her mind of all thing except to heal. A warm feeling fill Betty and mist or red surrounds her. She pushed the mist with her mind to surround the injured Jack Hop. The mist swirls and wraps around the injured leg the dissipates into the atmosphere. Betty opens her eyes to see if he ability worked half excexting it didnt. The leg still looks injured but the sleeping Jack hop looks more at rest then before. "Maybe it is at least healing faster?" she thinks with some hope.

Looking around the bog with worry, Betty decides she has no choice but to move the hop and take her to the safety of the Homewood. "How in the world am I going to move this hop safely." Gathering together some close by sticks and flexible branches, Betty weaves together a small but sturdy basket to be carried in her mouth. It wasnt great but It would at least get then out of the bog, through the banners and back to the homewoods.

Gathering the Jack hop up into the basket was a little bit of a challenge but once in the basket Betty wasted no time to get moving. It was long and tiring walk out of the bog and Betty was exhausted. Jack hop hadn't woken up but was still breathing slow and steady. As they entered the banners Betty has very little time to make a fire to keep them warm before night fall. It would be a long night but at the ever least they would stay warm and the fight would keep the dange away.
