Between Mystic and Kali's powerplays, he was going out of skin! Tolerating so many females was a trial in of itself. Adding that with the two of them playing games just became too much. Kahina at least was mellower to deal with until either she-beast decided to try to use her for their own benefit.
At least they mostly left him out of it. He didn't mind when Kali kept close. That seemed to anger Mystic more, but it also wasn't the worst thing in the world. Surprisingly.
He couldn't leave his territory for any length of time. It was his and he would defend it with his life. Patrolling the outer edge gave a brief respite to the females back home.
Then, he saw it. With Venus back and her aunts fussing over the deity, Diascia took the excuse to take a little trip to the island. As much as she loved her flock, and hated everything icky about the island, things there drew her. Specifically, she liked the flowers that couldn't be found in her home. This day, a particularly lovely day lily plant caught her eye. The white flower called to her with such a sweet song she had to visit it. With great skill and carefulness, she descended low enough to touch the flower but not so much that her talons touched the ground. This was a low altitude move but easy enough. How lucky was he? There wasn't any laying in wait required, this green feasent fluttered right in front of his eyes. How ever she lived to be old enough for a good meal was a mystory better left unsolved until he was full.
With plenty of warning, his hissing never subtle, always required if you asked him, he darted after the meal.Diascia admired the flower before her instincts gave a sharp warning. Purely by luck she moved just high enough to look behind her. The height meant Takshaka could only grab her left leg and a hand full of feathers rather than constrict her. Her eyes widened, her heart sped into a panic as she took in short breath and screamed "Germs! LetgoLetgoLetgo!"The chicken's screeching right in his face at full volume was not an attack he was prepared for. The moment of loosened grip was all she needed to get out of his grasp and take off screaming about filth and germs.
Really, he wasn't dirty, the females didn't like that. What they didn't like he learned to change for peace. Rude harpy. That left him with a hand full of brilliant deep green with red feathers and ringing in his ears.
Stupid harpy... At least her screeching brought another less flashy harpy (NPC) to her "rescue" That one didn't get away. The feathers weren't anything to impress but it was food, and he had a better trophy.
With the feathers and meal in hand, the Emperor took off back to the shelter. He looked for Kali now that he had something to present her.
He actually looked pleased with himself

Kalipetra had been busy pampering herself, tending to her scales, her hair and of course her growing collection of feathers. If you had asked her at firstt, she'd have said this male was ridiculous and stupid, a worm full of rocks with nothing but usable potential. If you asked her now... well she'd say the same thing.. but she'd say that was her dumb, rock filled worm and she was going to keep it that way. The amount of doting and spoiling he did upon her was more than welcome and she was starting to realize she didn't quite mind him being around either. His attention was nice and his unique ability meant that should she ever produce him a clutch...they'd surely inherit his powers, right? Perhaps. For now it was a far off dream. Instead, she moved to fix the purple feather into her hair, staring into a small pool to glance at her reflection. She fancied herself a nice hood to match his. Empress Kalipetra, queen to Emperor Takshaka, rulers of Panzer clan. It had a nice touch to it, one that brought a smile to her features. Speaking of her Emperor though, where was he? "Tutu?" she called aloud, not yet looking up from her pool, still fixated on making sure her hair was in order and that her scales glimmered brilliantly for when he returned.

The Emperor announced himself with a grumbling hissing complaint about the nickname. None of it had any fang to it, protests now had more tradition then merit. At least for Kali. Mystic tried it and that did not go well.
Grousing non-verbably, the large Emperor slithered up to her ever the moth to the glow. Relaxed and focused, his movements had all the tightness of barely contained speed.
Once just close enough, he took one of the larger of the feathers and held it out to tap her shoulder. Stealth wasn't the game, just to get her attention. As if he didn't already have it just by being himself.
That wasn't the only for her, without stopping back at the shelter first, she had first pick of any hard one feather(s) and a snack should she so desire. The bundle of feathers held in his had much like a bouquet of flowers. Flowers were useless things, unlike feathers held with a harpy claw.
There was no reason for the arrangement, just easier to transport. That was his story and he was sticking to it. "You didn't have any green, I fixed it." Comment would have been the same if there were a bundle of purple feathers. Blue might compliment her glow but he was not going to look for a blue harpy just for that. Though if he had a choice between a few, there would be rainbow with a bit more blue. After all, blue and gold were the best colors next to purple and glowing.

Kali felt the tap of feathers and laughed softly. She peered at his reflection as it slithered up behind hers in her gazing pool before gracefully turning around, eyeing his feathered bouquet of greens and reds. They were quite lovely and she did so enjoy being presented with even more trophies to show off, even if she hadn’t quite caught the bird herself. Still, his heart and brain were in the right place. This was enough to keep her coming back . “Always so generous, you do spoil me so.” She said softly, leaning forward to gently press her hands into his chest, one finger daring to tap its way up to his chin where she gently grabbed it and pinched it like one might a child. “I had wondered where you’d slithered off too, I was getting ever so lonely.” She paused and eyed the snack he had brought back with a grin. “And hungry.” She about purred for a snake, leaning back to take the feathers from his hands and run her fingers through them. Her tail coiled about his as she did so, picking out the best looking ones first and fixing them wherever she thought they looked best.

Mystic was no where to be heard, whatever was going on before must have already resolved itself. That was not something he was looking forward to returning to. Instead, she was elsewhere and Kali was pleased. All was right with the world. "As long as it pleases you," If she wasn't happy, only Mystic was happy. That is a lesson he learned very early on.
Making her happy made his life easier. A bit brighter too.
Pulling in his massive bulk, the emperor coiled his powerful lower body to settle in more comfortably. Beside her, he left the end of his tail out to drape across her own deceptively powerful tail.
With her praise he rolled his shoulders back and puffed up his chest. This he was getting used to, a day just didn't seem right anymore without earning a remark from her.
He remained still through her moments, offering only the mildest of hissing complaint as she pinched his chin. There was no baring of fangs or even the attempt a glare. Everything she offered was accepted with just a show of any irritation. On the contrary, he pressed closer, the feel of her coils against his settling the male further. "I picked a good time to return from patrol." No bickering and Kali happy, no better timing.
Holding up the practically flatten treat, he offered to her without any hesitation. The meal saw just how useless his attempts at being careful were. It seemed he was only capable of being 'easy' in moments like this where he tired to me sure he wasn't harming her trophies or accidentally leaning to much of his bulk on her. She was powerful, but he learned making her uncomfortable was punishable.
"A treat for you, Kali." Hers was the first choice, grudgingly he took it upon himself to make sure his clan was fed. It worked better that way, but she seemed to be sought out first.

“I love that you seem to know what I want just when I need it.” She teased, smiling as she took part of the treat and faintly swallowed a morsel. This would certainly feed them for quite a while, a month even, providing Mystic didn’t shove her fat fangs into it. Kahina wasn’t a worry, she was tolerable, forgettable even. Kali wouldn’t mind other females like her in the clan so long as they listened. “What ever shall I reward my mighty Emperor with this time?” She smiled, tilting her head as her tail tip gently tapped against his, her coils shifting to slide against the male. “Would you share it with me?” She asked him, turning back to hold out her hand as invitation. He did hunt it after all, she wasn’t as selfish as to deny him any of it. Besides, he needed to stay strong too. His iron scales had already proven a fine defense should anything try to take their clan grounds. There was something on her mind however, these last few days, and she couldn’t help but think now might be a good time to pick his brain. “I wonder, if I might be able, to pick your thoughts? HMmm?” She began slowly, hoping not to scare him off or make him mad. As strong as she was, one smack from his tail and she’d likely be flattened. He hadn’t chased her off yet and well, she could get further used to his spoiling. “Has my strong and handsome Emperor thought of taking an Empress yet?” She said softly, turning towards her feathers once again, only peering back at him over her shoulder shyly.

Hanging on to her every word, he took each word of praise as a pae dying of thirst would take offered water. The words to verbalize any of those feelings, those needs for even something as simple as words, could be found. The were there but he lacked the ability to identify them much less verbalize them.
For a moment he tried to open his mouth, there might have even been a word or two more substantial before he fell back to the old faithful, "Having you pleased is a grand reward." Naturally more was always better, gifts just the way to keep earning it. She recognized him, made him feel stronger instead of weaker.
His breath came out as a gentile rumbling hiss, reacting to her tail tapping his own and the comfort of her scales moving against his own. Hardly more on his mind, until she asked about it. Another big difference, she actually asked for his thoughts. It was natural to wonder about a mind such as his own. Only that natural event wasn't common before she arrived.
Females wouldn't be so irritating if they were more like her.
"I have," The answer just as likely to surprise her as it had surprised him. Just when had the thought of any Empress besides his mother become a thing? Before she even brought it up, it wasn't even something he was aware of. Yet, the moment she asked, the thought seemed to have always been there.
Impulse as much as anything, the Emperor moved to the side enough to put one strong arm around her waist. His chest pressed against her back, he puffed out his hood to its full glory. Reflected in the water, one side almost looked it belonged to her as his own face seemed blocked by her refection.
So close, his answer came out more like a whisper, more volume not required. "I can not think of a better Empress. It suits you. You win your own battles, bring strength." Her battles were mainly with Mystic but more and more she was proving her upper hand against the other female.
Even more impressively was she didn't irritate him all the time. A feat worthy of its own praise.Fea Line No longer obsessing over his mother, thank you Kali!

She had let out a laugh at his first comment. Yes, keeping her pleased kept her sated and him praised. When he actually responded to her question however, it made her pause. She looked at him, actually shocked. She watched as he moved towards her, her cheeks flushing faintly as he put his arm around her waist and moved in closer. Usually it was her shortening the distance between them, if only to see him fluster like a silly teen. This caught her completely off guard. As he spoke in her ear, she glanced down into the pool, catching the reflection of his head next to hers, his hood flared, looking as if she had one of her own. It was..... nice. Smiling, she leaned back into him, letting her own arm fall atop his. “I’m.... truly... honored.” She said as for once she struggled to find her words. What she wanted to say was about time, but the fact that it was actually now happening? Or at least he wanted it to happen rather took her breath away. Still, she couldn’t help but grin. “And happy. I’ve got so much more to show you my Emperor. I dare not let the others snuff that out.” She said determined, though soft, speaking only to him. She laughed again, gentle. “The thought of them taking you from me turns my coils.” She about whispered, craning her head back to glance up at him, her blue eyes seeming to glow much more than before. “We’d build a clan to be feared, I sense it.” She cooed, reaching up to stroke the side of his face with the back of her hand.

A hood complimented her. The process to make that happen was beyond him. No small part of him expected one to just appear right then in there. That became a curiosity before the thought had no more room in his brain.
It took much processing power to handle the rest of what was going on in his brain.
She was happy with his words, that alone seemed a rare thing. The few wheels running overtime in that brain of his were currently trying to phone a friend as to what he should be doing. More to show? That was very, very intriguing. In a low rumble, he replied "I look forward to it." Without really knowing what to do with himself, he just kept his hold close.
She never made him feel weak or lesser. Just like now, the hold was far, far more gentle then he had ever done before yet felt..Stronger?
A clan to be feared. Staring into her glowing eyes held that very same spell from almost the first moment they met. Drawing him in, letting her words settle firmly on his shoulders. She lulled him into believing and there was no will to break away. That glow could call him from a world away.
"With you at my side, we will build. You'll still have your hands full but an Empress can handle any challenge. I know you can." Mystic seemed the biggest current challenger, but to build there would need to be more naga brought in.
The idea didn't exactly thrill him, but if she kept his harem in line maybe it wouldn't be so bad? He could deal with any males causing issues but females were a no-go. She made it okay to even think of that. One Mystic was more than enough, no more. That he put his coils down. Nothing clicked that another way to grow would be clutches with said harem but primarily his Empress.
The whole conversation went rapidly through his head as he leaned into her hand. His other hand held the original prizes but they were slipping from his grip and mind.

Watching him think was becoming a favorite past time of his. Oh the emotions and faces he seemed to make made her laugh, made her snort (not that she'd admit that part) and made her own thoughts turn. "Build we shall then." she echoed him, using her coils to turn herself so that she now faced him, but still within his grasp. She looked up into his eyes, studying them. No doubt they were thinking very similar things, for their clan to grow they'd need more obedient worms. Where to find those might prove a challenge. At least with Mystic still around. But there was other options. "For now.... we could build from within." she smirked at him, her eyes flashing in another way this time. Her head tilted, attempting to seem innocent in her request but her grin suggested otherwise. She glanced around to see if either of the other females were insight before pushing her coils farther into his, some perhaps on top. "I'm sure there are other promising worms to dominate, but it'd be a shame to not have your heritage continue...." she added, one finger tracing circles on his chest as she cooed.

The Harpies and the Bees conversation never happened in his youth. Everything bounced around his poor skull but a piece was missing. He was supposed to do something but what was the question.
He faltered. The momentary stillness accompanied eye contact. It wasn't often he looked into another eyes not to challenge, but seek. He searched, eyes focused hers but also travailing to study her face. Whatever it was she wanted, he wanted it too. It was just she seemed to know exactly what that was.
Any other naga the coiling together would be a clear dominance fight. This, this was far from that. Not only had he no desire to fight her for dominance, there was absolutely no sense of danger. This is where he wanted to be, and there was no denying each brush of her coils was eletric.
His heritage, building with in...More of him? Things started to really click. the thoughts before were throwaways. Reaching out now, he closed what little distance there was by putting his arm around her. More active, he followed her lead, entwining his coils with hers creating a stack of dark blue scale to her glowing sky scene. She needed to be close...just when had that happened. "That would be a powerful start. The clan could use more..glow." Would that pass on? Would his iron scales? Would any clutch be tolerable?
Would he find out?

Kali laughed, reaching up to gently boop his nose with a finger. Yes, her glow passing on would be prideful to her in her own way, but really it didn't do much but give off a faint light. Itt wasn't anything like his iron scales that could actually be used in battle. In fact, at night, it was even a hindrance to her. But if he thouuught her pretty enouuguh he'd want her genes to pass on.... well she wasn't about to complain. "The best part about building from within..." she said softly with a smile. "Is that we can start whenever you'd like." she smirked, laughing gently, tugging him along to see if he was up for the game. Of if Mystic were to come along right now and see this.... she'd die happily. Cackling too.

He was following, a couple metaphorical steps behind her but he was following. The could start any time? Well, his answer came naturally, "Why wait then?" Irony was he was asking a question he didn't fully grasp. Concepts maybe, but actual execution?
Kali did say she had things to show him and clearly knew what she was doing. So, he followed. Leaning in to her, he pressed to follow any movement she made on this little game. A very eager participant in the game. Learn the "rules" as he went suited him just fineFea Line Probably a good time to pull down the curtain wink
