Betty bay had been walking for days. Her and her family lived a 3 day and 2 night journey from the Grandfather tree but now was the time for her to be blessed with her gift. Before she had left her mother had kissed her chick and told her "Bay you will do great dont worry about what your gift is The wise Grandfather Tree known you better then anyone. He will bestow who with the gift that is best for who you are." Betty knew her mom was just trying to help calm her nerves but it really did nothing to calm her nerves all. If anything it made things worse.
As her and her father made the long journey to the Grandfather Tree they never spoke. Not that she didnt have many question but it was they way her family had made the journey for many generation. Her father once told her "When it's time for a nouls to travel to the Grandfather Tree, one must traval in silence to keep their spirit close to the Grandfather Tree so that the nouls talent is clear in ones heart." All Betty could think about was would happen if a talent wasnt given to her? and how can The Grandfather Tree know her heart when she didnt know herself?
The journey to the tree took 3 days and 2 nights. When they had only a mile to go her father stopped and just looked at her. This was as far as he would go, she was to take the last mile on her own. Taking a deep breath in and out again she head off. The mile walk was long strenuous but by the time she had made it to the edge of the clearing her heart was racing. Stopping to gather herself she spotted a mostly white Jack Hop who seemed to be watching her. She almost said hello but remembered that this trip was to be completed in silence until the Grandfather tree bestowed her with her gift. So she sampled smiled and nodded.
With one last breath in she stepped out of the forest and approached the Grandfather tree. Its massive white truck was bigger then even her imagination would have dreamed. It truly was the most beautiful thing she had ever see. There was other nouls in the clearing but she didnt by much mind to them. Her nevers completely forgotten she moved all the way to the base of the trunk and bowed her head in wait.
