Name: Basyl Phloros - like the herb Nickname: tbd through rp Gender/Prounoun: he/him/his Age: 25 Birthday: September 6, 1994 Sign: Virgo Gemstone: carnelian Blood Type: O+ Fav. Food: Olive Garden breadsticks with Pizza Hut marinara, Walmart brand powdered mac and cheese, honeycrisp apples and pretty much anything an apple could go in Hated Food: popcorn, lobster, mussels, anything harder to eat/prepare than it's worth to cook School/Occupation: third year medical student at Destiny City University, but surprise, rotations don't pay, so he's also a barista at a local coffee shop in order to be close to his unfortunate addiction (coffee) Hobbies: Please see above; he clearly has no life/is sleeping a hobbyStudying/Writing a comical memoir about the trials of medical school, eventual residency, and attending/Posts blurbs online/Complaining - Obviously. Most of Basyl's free time is dedicated to furthering his knowledge in his field of study, and there is quite a lot to explore regarding medicine, with discoveries and changes being made faster than anyone could learn them all. He does his best to keep up with his peers, but being that he is still a student (and only human), he tends to need an outlet for complaints. Once he has endured all he can of Latin names and symptoms, his focus shifts to the more lighthearted and less consequential task of notating his memoirs: a "comical" (read: complaintive) retelling of any events of significance or oddity that have occurred throughout the day. He has a blog that he posts the most insane of his stories on that is meant to provide some sort of expectation to students not quite as far along into the process as he is. Basyl can often be found in the school library, surrounded by medical tomes, notebooks, and his laptop.
Aquaculturist - Hit him up at PetSmart or Garden Supply, looking for fishes or plants for his indoor 75 gallon tank. Basyl is a busy bee who doesn't typically spend very much time at home, so he isn't comfortable owning a 'real' pet. But fishes hardly need very much attention, and they're companionable enough. They're willing to listen to him muttering to himself. And if they aren't willing, they don't argue to the contrary. His tank is set up as an aquaponics system, allowing him to grow a small bed of strawberries and herbs atop it with almost no maintenance. The fish waste provides food for the plants, and the plants filter the fish water. It's great. He is always keeping an eye out for something new to add or willing to see if a new plant will grow. And he enjoys the ambient noise of the fish tank running when everything else is quiet.
Collecting/Collecting everything: coins, cards, hoodies, if it says "Collector's Edition" on it, he wants it - Basyl doesn't really make a whole lot of money doing what he's doing now, and he could stand to be significantly more frugal... But any time his eye catches something 'limited edition,' most rational thought is completely blown from his mind. It's limited edition, after all, and if he doesn't get it now, he might never be able to! Card sets and comic books only print for a finite time period, so he doesn't want to miss one that could be worth a lot someday... Didn't you hear he was in medical school? He's thirty grand in debt already. What is six bucks more for a pack of cards or twenty more for a print hoodie or one hundred more for an old road sign from the golden age of industry! He accidentally walked into a pawn shop and there it was, and of course he could use it for decorating, and won't all those people he never invites over be so interested? Basyl's apartment is so full of junk you can barely walk, but he's never there anyway. He doesn't care. Virtues: Resourceful - Basyl is a smart guy who is very studious and always eager to learn. He may be timid, but he is also very curious of almost any subject and is more than willing to inquire and provide input as long as the other person seems knowledgeable and patient, as adapting to various methods of study (learning from more than just a textbook) is essential to a successful career in his field. He can be witty and engaging around someone he is comfortable and familiar with, and he enjoys solving problems and even helping others work through theirs, since he tends to see things for what is 'good' about them and how they can be utilized to provide a boon when situations are dire. His preference for being hands-on is in part why he chose his profession, and he tries to be realistic with what he expects from himself and others in regards to time, energy, and well-being. He knows what constitutes 'too much,' and he tries to maintain a mostly healthy lifestyle through incremental change. He is curious/friendly with knowledgeable people as means to gain the resources needed in order to solve problems.
Sympathetic - If judged by appearance alone, Basyl's bedside manner would be a little lacking, but given an opportunity to prove himself, patients and comrades will find that he is generally very calm with a good head on his shoulders. His personal experiences may not be very varied, yet, but he is capable of comprehending how certain stressors may have a negative effect on people, and he understands that bad moods are easy to pass along. Basyl is not a man full of judgement, and he is not easily put down, even by those actively being cruel. There are just too many possibilities for what could make someone behave that way, and no one will get anywhere without the information required to help, if possible. He is always willing to lend a listening ear and give advice when he feels capable of doing so or directing people to someone who can. He is not one to remain stagnant and knows not to push to the point of annoyance, but keeping an open mind with as many options available as possible has led him to positive results so far.
Committed - Outside of complaints about school, Basyl doesn't have much to say about himself. He is very focused on his studies, sure, and he knows it's a difficult path that many try to walk and fail, but that's all the more reason to keep his ego in check. After all, the point of what he wants isn't for self gratification or fame or to 'play god,' but to provide a service. For those that are capable of providing a service, don't they have a civic duty to do so? He is intelligent and quick-witted, not squeamish, capable of adapting and understanding, and aware of difficulties people can face. Shouldn't he try, when he is able, to alleviate the stress and grievances of the world? Basyl believes so. His soft voice and usually calm demeanor, coupled with an understanding nature, make him easy to open up to and feel comforted by, once you can get past the raggedy appearance. He has a delicate touch and faces opposition with measured words and motions. He is committed to trying to do all that he is capable of doing and providing whatever good he can. It just happens that his outlet for that is primarily centered on work at the moment. Flaws: Timid - By spending so much of his time on studies, Basyl never had a chance to be a particularly outgoing guy. He doesn't dislike people, and in fact, likes them quite a bit, considering he's trying to heal the world and such. But he is out of practice in dealing with them face-to-face, and it shows when he can't think of anything to say or isn't expecting something someone else says, or starts having a conversation with himself in the middle of having a conversation with another person. He thinks it's awkward and weirdly intimate to make a lot of eye contact, and he doesn't want to seem stiff by sitting still, so his eyes are always wandering and his fingers are always twiddling. It gives him an air of constantly needing distraction from who he's talking to, and what he considers a quiet "listening ear" typically comes off as meek and unwilling to add anything to a conversation unless prompted. Basyl isn't a huge risk taker when engaging with someone else. He just doesn't want to do the wrong thing and make someone feel uncomfortable.
Disorderly - The most glaringly obvious flaw, easy to be seen from a mile away. Basyl is a perfectly healthy young man. He eats well enough, is hygienic, and doesn't actually smell bad. However, he absolutely cannot be bothered to keep a neat appearance. His clothes are crumpled, his hair is unkempt, his home is in a complete state of disarray. He isn't lazy, but he certainly has other things to worry about than styling his lavender locks or constantly picking disheveled papers and books off the floor. He simply doesn't care about these aesthetic things. But he does have quite a few 'aesthetic' things, and he is hell bent on not throwing anything away and is always after more. No sane person would step foot in his house (he's already scared his poor mother away), but Basyl does not take kindly to commentary about his various 'junk,' and if it bothers you so much, no one is forcing you to look at it.
Hesitant - Basyl is an intelligent man. He recognizes and acknowledges the value of decisions made steadfastly and with purpose and intent. He respects those that can come to difficult conclusions almost without time to gather thoughts and evidence, but he is incapable of this himself. Aren't there an infinite number of outcomes to any scenario, and how could he possibly make a decision without pausing to consider the repercussions and drawbacks of one path over another? In his field, hesitance costs lives, and he is constantly berating himself for the need to be confident in his actions. He is ready to face whatever situation may crop up, and he knows he has the intelligence to do it. However, the second something skews from the expected, he freezes, and no amount of preparation has saved him from this so far. It is what he considers his greatest personal failing: knowing that he needs to act and being unable to. PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION Eyes: upturned red-pink (second or third from the bottom, artist's choice) eyes with crazy dark bags under them because he gets no sleep and is going a tiny bit manic Hair: lavender-colored, unkempt hair that starts like this but is butt-length, tends to hide most of it in a beanie, hoodie, or bun. Face: nothing that particularly stands out, he's unshaven, but it's not so bad that it's a full-on beard Skin Tone: olive, third one here, he's Greek, if that helps Body Type: Basyl is a scrawny, shaggy dude that looks a little too thin to be healthy and too messy to be a reassuring doctor. Most people get that 'lean away from' vibe. Clothes: wears comfortable hoodies and sweats when at home or going out, scrubs/lab coat at school, black long-sleeve button up and khaki pants with apron when at work

Senshi: Narcissus of RejectionChallenge: Funny how that happens. Fuku Colour: This palette. No preference on which is main/secondary. Main Color: See link Secondary Color: See link Fuku: I might like to stick to the Greek myth loose and swathy theme? Collar -- Could something like this black swath be a collar? With the white being the overlay? Hood down or up is fine. Bow -- See above for the little spirally bit at the end of collar and bottoms for skirty bit around waist. Bodice -- This?Sleeves -- Nah. Brooch -- No idea. Bottoms -- Kinda thinking something like this? Narcissus is also a flower, so maybe that flower on his pants instead of the more rose-looking one depicted? Tiara -- Is a hood a tiara. Choker -- See top. Choker is attached to shirt. Shoes -- lacy sandals I don't think you'll see too much of them under his laced-up bell bottom pants. Gloves -- Fingerless lace-up gloves to go with his lace-up pants? Accessories -- No? Attacks: These are your senshi's abilities, which will be used in battle. These abilities correspond to your senshi's element. Think of it as a "summary" of what your senshi can do in one word. Sailor Scout Attack: Narcissus Dismissive Glower Narcissus casts his magic and his eyes begin to glow. He has fifteen seconds to make direct eye contact with any individual to inspire a sense of being rejected from something specific. It can be from his opponent's own faction, from themselves, from an ally, or anything the player chooses so long as the overall effect is that focus is redirected from Narcissus and toward whatever they feel as rejected them. Target must be within six feet of Narcissus for the attack to take effect. The feeling lasts for twenty seconds and can be used twice per battle. Super Sailor Scout Attack: Narcissus Dismissive Mockery Narcissus casts his magic and his eyes begin to glow. He has fifteen seconds to make direct eye contact with any two individuals to inspire a sense of being rejected from something specific. It can be from each other, from his opponent's own faction, from themselves, from an ally, or anything the player chooses so long as the overall effect is that focus is redirected from Narcissus and toward whatever they feel has rejected them. Target must be within ten feet of Narcissus for the attack to take effect. The feeling lasts for twenty seconds and can be used twice per battle. Eternal Sailor Attack: Narcissus Contemptuous Rejection Narcissus casts his magic to create a mesmerizing ethereal figure, the features of which are up to the player. The figure cannot be touched or interacted with by anyone except Narcissus, and in fact, it seems like it's ignoring you... Opponents within fifteen feet of it should be desperately enthralled/intrigued/enticed by the being, and the effects of its loathsome dismissal are up to the player, but can cause feelings of misery, worthlessness, desperation, or suicidal thoughts. The figure will remain for up to thirty seconds, with negative feelings fading within the next fifteen. It can be cast once per battle.

Hello Echos! I'm here to take a look at your thread and make sure you're good to go!
Civilian
Basic Data
Name looks good and checks out!
I just gotta say, right off the bat, I love Basyl's food preferences. He's a man after my own heart!
Hobbies
Hobbies look just fine! It's a really comical read and It kinda makes me hope you do have some of his solos being the Medical school memoir! The Aquaculturist hobby looks really well thought out, and I can definitely relate to the hoarding of collectables! Just gotta have it!
For the traits, at a quick glance, can you choose one word or phrase to describe each trait? I've explained more below, but it helps to determine a personality outline at a quick glance when it's a single word. This goes for both the virtues and the Flaws. For both Modest/Gentle and Hesitant/Indecisive, once you are ready for those changes to his personality to occur, we have a form to fill out for additional approval For now, you can remove the footnote, and when you're ready, we can take care of that separately.
Virtues
Wicked Wit/Resourceful/Practical reads well, but this seems to be three different traits. I would suggest editing it to show how each individual trait relates to the other, instead of being able to read exactly where the trait changes into something else. And as a unifying Virtue name, you could call it "Educationally Social", if he's the sort of person who would only be open and willing to talk when in a learning situation.
Sympathetic/Adaptable/Open-minded can be condensed down to Compassionate, or Sympathetic in itself. The way it is written is just fine, and looks great, so there's nothing else to change there!
Unfortunately, Modest/Gentle doesn't quite read that way. To me, it comes off as more like "Realistic", but there are multiple thoughts going on here. He is shy and quiet, but also he wants to help everyone because he wants to. Being shy and quiet often seem to be flaws (Which is written into Timid/Stammery/Fidgety, so it works there!), so this one should focus on the good that his personality shows. I would focus on that dedication of wanting to help people, and what he feels is his duty. So if he feels like it's his Duty to help people, and he wants to do so, then you can say he's Responsible, or Devoted to that cause.
You'll want to focus on what makes him likeable for that trait, to most people, but keep it seperate from the Sympathetic trait. Gentle and Sympathetic/Compassionate can often be combined into simply being "Kind", and you'll want to make sure these traits aren't accidentally the same.
Flaws
For Timid/Stammery/Fidgety, the way it reads, I believe it could be summarized with the word Timid, since Stammering/Fidgeting is what he does because he is timid, shy, or Awkward. You should choose one of those words to describe the trait. Other than that, it works out well!
The trait Messy/Hoarder/Possessive, by the way it reads, comes off mostly as Messy, so you'll want to use only that word. Everything else about this trait is right as rain!
Hesitant/Indecisive can be simplified into only Hesitant. All else is good!
Appearances
This all checks out without any issues!
Powered
Senshi Name works out just fine!
However, the sphere of Contempt is currently not available. Although it is on the master character list, it shares the definition with the word "Scorn", which is a taken sphere.
If you'd like to use the same sort of attack schemes and feelings, you could use Ostracization, which is not taken, and can still mean that people are turning away from the focus, or choosing to look towards another target, rather than the focus that is Narcissus. There is also the sphere of Dissent, which does give the view of not agreeing with another person. Exclusion and isolation could also be made to work!
These all could be used to tie back to the desperation of your last attack for someone to want to rejoin society as a whole.
There are other things available, and if you're looking for a particular feeling conveyed, we can work with you to find something that works better.
If you'd like to discuss possibilities directly, I can be reached on our shop discord (or directly: Kapoodles#9101), as well as being quoted back here for additional assistance.
I look forward to working with you more to get you up and running!

We're definitely on the right track so far!
Alot of the changes you made have resolved the things I pointed out, but there are a few that still need to be clarified.
Traits
Resourceful: While reading this, I don't get a clear explanation of how he's resourceful, and how that benefits him. Reading this, it jumps between curious, friendly with people, problem solving, hands on, and regimented.
If you'd like to continue with him being Resourceful, this trait needs to focus on that and that alone. If he's resourceful, how does that affect his day-to-day life? How can that benefit him and how does he show he's resourceful? And how do other people view him thanks to that Resourcefulness?
Committed: To elaborate on what I said earlier, we want the word that describes the trait to be a quick reference to what you want Basyl to come off as. So in this case, you should change committed to "Committed to Work", so we know it's specifically about work, and not just everything in his life.
Unless you want that to be applied to everything, then it would need to have a sentence added referencing that specifically. It could be something as simple as "This extends beyond his work, but to anything he tries to do. He commits to the task and won't give up until it's completed."
Flaws: These all look great! Excellent work!

Rejection works, just make sure you get the definition and link it, the same way you did with Contempt!
For the attacks specifically, could you add in what you mean by rejection? A target feels "rejection", but does that mean they are rejecting/ignoring Narcissus himself, or something in particular that they are trying to avoid? And do you know if it feels more like, a romantic rejection, or a feeling of friendship being snubbed? You can always say that the feeling is up to the player of the target.
The durations of the attacks work well, but for both, can you set a distance that Narcissus can be from the target for it to work?
6ft for basic and 10ft for super would work just fine!
The Eternal attack looks fine, but do you have a number of people it affects? Or a range out from the figure that would affect it? A 15 foot radius from the figure would work well, in that case!
We're almost there, just a little more!

Kapoodles Resourceful: While reading this, I don't get a clear explanation of how he's resourceful, and how that benefits him. The traits you're saying it jumps between are actually answers to your questions. He is curious/friendly with knowledgeable people as means to gain the resources needed in order to solve problems. Being invested in those problems he wants to solve require that he be hands-on with at least a bit of regimented thought into the process by which he intends to solve things. Saying this, I don't actually consider him all that regimented and don't really see it in this trait. I think you're looking at the 'realistic' aspect, which again, is just a facet of problem-solving, which is an effect of being resourceful. Kapoodles Committed: To elaborate on what I said earlier, we want the word that describes the trait to be a quick reference to what you want Basyl to come off as. He commits to the task and won't give up until it's completed." I don't think it's necessary to specify the trait to 'committed to work,' and I don't think it reads that he is. His commitment to study stems from a commitment to what he believes is his civic duty. He is committed to trying to do all that he is capable of doing and providing whatever good he can. It just happens that his outlet for that is primarily centered on work at the moment, but I personally think it reads that he is willing to do his best by whatever means are available to him. This has been updated to include a link to rejection and distances for attacks, as well as clarification for descriptions.

Everything you said here is exactly what I'm looking for. You just need to add that to the trait itself to make it into a more unified thought.
It's not so much rewriting an entire trait, but adding something that ties the thought process all together.
This line alone answers my question about the Resourcefulness.
Quote: He is curious/friendly with knowledgeable people as means to gain the resources needed in order to solve problems.
Rereading the trait now, it's there, but it's also surrounded by alot of other things, which was what caused the confusion, so my apologizes.
As for commited, I was simply looking for a "committed to what" explanation. Commitment could be applied to anything. Romance, friends, situations, a career choice. I am looking simply to know whether or not the commitment applies to a single topic, or a vast number of things.
Just like above, the line you typed clarifies this, and adding it to the trait ties up your thoughts on him and that particular trait into a nicely explained virtue.
Quote: He is committed to trying to do all that he is capable of doing and providing whatever good he can. It just happens that his outlet for that is primarily centered on work at the moment.
Adding this to the Committed trait would add that needed line of explanation, that his commitment extends beyond just school or work. It extends to all things once he decides to focus on them.
