How Do Relics Work?
Relics exist all throughout the world of Ganti. These ancient artifacts come in any shape, size, or variety that one could imagine. It might be an old necklace that when awoken by magic grants the power to exhale ice. Maybe it's a beautiful old tweed jacket that when afflicted by magic, reflects the power. You can create any types of artifacts that you could think up, though sometimes they will be rewarded, and not something you yourself craft. You can only have so many relics--so whenever a new one is offered or found, you can always decide to change out the other. Any found relics may be stored, and then swapped out or traded if you choose. As a relic evolves, you will be in control of how it does this, however, so if you stick with a relic you don't LOVE the aesthetic of for your character, you might just get something later that you do!
The number of allowed, active, relics, is simple. For every 100 stat points (divide your Health by 40 for this, as that is equal to the amount of stat points invested) that you have invested into your character, you will have the ability to use an additional relic. As a relic evolves, however, it may take more slots to use than just the one. Choose your relics wisely.
Stats
Relics will absolutely affect your stats. The relics radiate magical energy and will attune themselves to their owner in order to amplify their latent power. Each artifact, however, is attuned only to one aspect of its owner. This aspect, as it evolves however, may change or grow.
When you attain your first relic, it will amplify a single stat of your choosing by 20%. This cannot be changed, so choose wisely.
Upon evolving a relic, you can choose two directions: either upgrade the same stat by 80% instead, or select another stat and upgrade the original AND the second stat by 40%.
The last evolution of a relic will follow the original path and either become 150% to the original stat, or 75% to each of the two chosen stats.
Evolution
It takes an extraordinary amount of work to attune oneself to a relic enough or it to take on a new form and increase its effectiveness. These requirements, are as such:
First Evolution: To evolve the first form of a relic, one must participate in 10 combat scenarios with this relic equipped. They must also have a minimum of 250 stats placed in their character.
Second Evolution: To obtain the final evolution of a relic, the owner must have used the relic through at least 50 combat scenarios, as well as have a minimum of 1000 stats placed in their character. The people who control these relics are gods of the KinsGuard world.
