◊ ENERGETIC Ashton is fairly energetic, wanting to be everywhere at once and do everything. He always seems to have boundless amounts of energy, and has a tendency to get in over his head by trying to do everything at once. He doesn't like being bored, as it gets him thinking and he doesn't like it when he starts thinking too much.
◊ EGOTISTICAL Ashton is seemingly egotistical. He tries to make everything about himself, even if it could get him into trouble. He's constantly trying to be the center of attention, and sometimes seems to exude an aura of self-importance.
◊ BROODING When Ashton has too much time to think, he can become broody. He starts reflecting on things he'd rather not remember or starts wondering if everything that's been said about him in the past is true. He doesn't like himself in those moments, and tries to avoid it as much as he can.
◊ PROUD Ashton can become quite proud of himself, especially when it comes to his own accomplishments. Since it seems like no one else cares about what he does or what he accomplishes, he takes it upon himself to be his own cheerleader. He figures that he can try to feel good about what he's done.
◊ FRIENDLY Ashton is quite friendly, even if sometimes he can seem a bit desperate for other people to talk to. He doesn't like to be rude or mean, and often works to help people out if he can. He also refuses to betray friends since he believes that maybe he can gain forgiveness that way, up to and even taking the blame for something he didn't do.
◊ GUILTY Underneath it all, Ashton feels severe guilt for everything that's happened to his family. He figures that his father had to have known that he was a bad kid and left the family because of that fact, and his mother's current situation wouldn't exist if he hadn't been there. He tries very hard to cover up his feelings of guilt by trying to pretend to be something other than what he actually is, which is a depressed, lonely person.

CHILDHOOD Ashton was the second son born to Oscar Bardsley and Astra Tennyson. He had an older brother, Forest, and his family seemed alright for the first couple of years of his life. Then, for reasons unknown to anyone, his father divorced his mum and left the family, leaving Forest, Astra, and Ashton by themselves. While it was tight, Astra made it work, and for the next four years, they more or less made it work, with Forest graduating from Hogwarts and going to work to help his mum raise his baby brother. Their father dropped by every now and then, never staying long, but every time he did, it made Astra and Forest angry as Oscar never seemed interested in supporting his family.
However, when Ashton was six, Astra was arrested and tried for murder. Ashton himself was the prime witness, as he told aurors that he saw his mother stab a muggle several times before he ran to tell his brother. The problem was, Ashton later couldn't recall the same event, and claimed it was someone else that did the deed. Authorities chose to believe what Ashton had originally told them, and Astra was sent to Azkaban for life. Forest couldn't believe that his brother would accuse their mother, and refused to believe Ashton when the boy told him the alternate story. Forest continued to care for his brother, but ultimately blamed Ashton for their mother's incarceration and made it a point to remind him about his 'lies'.
When Ashton finally was old enough to attend Hogwarts, he was glad. He believed it might actually be good for him and Forest to be apart from each other. Ashton also had another reason. Ashton figured that no one at school would know about what he'd done, and as a result, no one would blame him or call him a liar.
