When it came to the war, Lenka had been a complete and utterly useless lump for the past…forever.
Now things were different though. Now she had finally graduated high school, with honors. She was in love with the most wonderful boy on the planet and…she was doing pretty good with her life in general. Her relationship with her mom was still a bit strained, though it had been for quite some time, but she figured that was just due to growing up. Things got strained.
Got broken.
Jett was one of the many constants in her life, and she found herself over at the Draymore household at least twice a week watching Chloe and Eloise. Those two were the absolute light of her life…and secretly, she kind of wanted to talk with Orin about when they could have kids and get married. They were eighteen now, it was a perfectly normal question.
The senshi of watermelons had been away from the war for nearly three years now, but she was back…and she was going to be better than ever.
And as she felt the strong chaotic aura from nearby, she knew this was the start of the better than ever. Post graduation stress could be taken care of quite easily by trashing a villain, after all.
Though…when she saw just who the villain was, she paused, a rather faint memory returning of this woman being…kind of really awful when she was younger. When she was still a chibi.
Well. She was a chibi no longer and as she looked at the Dark Mirror Eternal, she smirked and shook her head. “What, too busy to harass chibi senshi now? What have you moved on to, kicking puppies?”
She would take pleasure in this fight.

To say that it had been a long time since Sailor Leto had made an appearance in Destiny City would be an understatement. For the first time since she had been awakened into the powered war that raged on, Leto wanted nothing to do with it. She had invested so much in the war -- her time, her sanity, her physical well-being -- and after she had been rescued from Wolframite’s clutches, she decided it was time to invest elsewhere. At least that was was she told herself. But if she was being honest with herself during her time off from being a powered superhero (villain? whatever), she would have to admit that she missed it. She craved it, every single day the craving grew a little stronger than the day before. Thoughts of being powered crept into her mind, plagued her dreams, had her distracted in her every day life. When she looked at her children she wondered if they would grow up to be a Senshi (or worse, a Knight) one day. When she looked in the mirror her reflection was of Leto, not Quinn. Her people were all powered, there was no avoiding it anymore. There was no avoiding it. So she made the choice, as she did so many times before. The brunette gripped her henshin pen in her hand, red eyes stared at herself in the mirror with honey-colored eyes looking back. Kathryn was long gone, she was only Leto now, Quinn merely a shadow of her former self. Whispering the all-too familiar words, she was overwhelmed with the power that washed over her for the first time in over a year. Sucking in a deep, slow breath, she exhaled as she stepped through the mirror. Stepping out of a familiar mirror in the park, she immediately felt a twinge at the nape of her neck. Order. Strong. Her fingertips twitched ever so slightly at her sides, a smile starting to spread on her lips. Leto turned on a heel to move in the other Senshi’s direction, but before she had a chance to do so the other girl was already entering her personal space. Her head tilted slightly as she absorbed the words coming out of her mouth, her eyes narrowed and peering at her, trying to place her face and voice and the mention of chibi Senshi… There weren’t many of those that Leto had chosen to pick fights with. An eyebrow raised and the smile turned into a grin as a vague memory worked itself to the forefront of her mind. This was going to be fun. “I see your s**t talking game hasn’t gotten any better, kid,” Leto said with a half-hearted chuckle. She would try and egg the other girl on, let her think that she had any chance in hell at beating her if she chose to pick a fight.

Lenka sneered at the older senshi, shaking her head. “It’s gotten a hell of a lot better since now I’m old enough to actually talk some real s**t.” She summoned her watermelon rind to her hand and watched the brunette carefully.
“I see that your attitude hasn’t improved at all either. Well, I know that I’ve gotten a hell of a lot stronger, and this time, I’m not holding anything back, b***h. If you know what’s good for you, you’ll slink back into whatever mirror you came out of and just go the hell away, capiche?”
It was the only warning that she was prepared to give, and with that, she moved quickly. Sure, she was out of shape, but she had still been practicing throwing, hadn’t she? What with having joined the Meadowview softball team, her aim was a lot better than it had been.
“Full Body Rind!” The words flowed easily, even as the rind left her hand, aiming right for the Dark Mirror’s torso.
Use this attack and knock her down and she would have this fight in the bag.

When the watermelon rind was called to the Senshi’s hand, it solidified exactly who this was to Leto. How could she possibly ever forget the kid that licked her hand? “Listen kid, I’m real proud of you for growing a few inches and hopefully not being a shitty Senshi anymore, really I am. But I’m gonna warn you once. Only once. You’ll regret this. If you know what’s good for you you’ll run.” Alas, the kid didn’t run. In fact, she did the complete opposite and Leto let out an audible groan when the words left Lenka’s lips. Somehow the Camouflage Eternal wasn’t actually expecting her to call her attack. The watermelon rind hit her and attached itself to her. <********,” was muttered as she rind grew, encasing her in it. This wasn’t exactly how she expected her first night back on patrol to go. Feeling her panic rising, bubbling in her stomach and working it’s way up and out, Leto tried to keep it together as darkness began to engulf her, water filling the rind. This was torture at Wolframite’s hands all over again. She was going to ******** lose it on this kid. She shrieked inside the rind, her hands instantly clenched into fists. None of her attacks would get her out of this, she knew that well enough. But she also knew that this was magic and like any other Senshi attack, it had to end eventually. She just had to mentally get to that point and then Lenka would pay.

Lenka gave a grin and lunged at the watermelon, knocking it over with all the strength in her six foot two frame. The fact that the Dark Mirror was screaming didn’t bother her, in fact it seemed to give her a pleasurable sense of enjoyment.
“I’m not just some stupid kid you can kick around now, am I, b***h. I guess you’ll start taking my s**t talking a bit more seriously from here on, yeah? Maybe you’ll just start staying home and staying out of things. It seems like a good way to go about your life. You’re losing your edge, and getting old!”
She kicked the melon as hard as she could, satisfied when it cracked and the water inside came flowing out.
It was so fun to see just how powerful she had gotten. “You can’t frighten me with petty threats. You can’t expect me to just turn away and let you gallivant around doing whatever you please. So, take my advice and just go home. And don’t bother showing your face around this city ever again if you know what’s good for you.”
Sure she talked big...but when you were clearly winning and clearly had the upper hand in the situation...why wouldn’t you go all out? She had this fight in the bag...or...rather…
In the melon.

The world spun around her as she felt Lenka’s body collide with the watermelon and drop her to the ground. The words the teenager was spewing at her were muffled through the water, but Leto definitely got the gist of it. It was only when the water began to spew from the crack that Lenka’s kick had caused that the Camo Senshi released the breath she didn’t even realize she was holding. Threats didn’t frighten her, eh? Okay then. Leto may have been a parent, but her patience with young people ( especially mouthy teenagers) wore thin and grated on her last nerves. Lenka had her chance. With an all too familiar ease, Leto pushed past her Eternal stage and into one of Royalty. Her fuku shifted, large black wings sprouting from her back and giving her chills. ******** it felt good to be back. With the help of Lenka’s pre-made crack in the rind, all it took was one quick, strong kick before the watermelon broke from around her and the Dark Mirror Princess was pushing herself to her bare feet. A pump of her wings had her moving faster than her usual speed and her right hand reached out to grasp Lenka by her collar and lift her a few inches off of the ground. Leto may have been small, but damn if she wasn’t mighty when she pushed to her full powered potential. “Are you sure you don’t wanna take any of that back before I kill you?,” Leto snarled between clenched teeth at the younger girl.

If there was one thing that Lenka was not expecting, it was a sudden shift in power. She narrowed her eyes, rapidly trying to figure out just what was going on, when the melon was suddenly broken open and…
And the senshi had changed.
She was stronger now, stronger than Lenka was and for a moment, there was a sudden cold sense of dread that washed over the eternal senshi. She was out of fighting trim, that was for sure but…even if she hadn’t been.
It wasn’t like she could really compensate for such an unbalance of power.
The moment of hesitation allowed the disgusting princess to get her hands on Lenka and she gave a startled gasp, fear flashing in her normally warm brown eyes before they narrowed again in utter hatred and with a sudden grin as she got a hold on her emotions once again, she spat right in the brunettes face.
“Like hell I’ll let you kill me, you stupid, arrogant b***h.”
Maybe she couldn’t win in a fight, but she could bluff her way out for as long as she could.
She kicked out, hard, hoping that one of her actions would cause the older senshi to let her go.

It took every bit of self control not to snap Lenka’s neck when she spat in Leto’s face. She closed her fiery red eyes for a brief moment to collect herself and stifle the rage that was bubbling very quickly to the surface. She was cold. She was wet. She had her super fun moment of panic. And now she had someone else’s saliva running down her cheek. It wasn’t a good look for her and it was definitely not in Lenka’s best interest to keep ******** talking. But that never stopped the kid, did it? Her upper lip curled and she flinched when a boot made impact with her, but like hell she was going to let her go, her knuckles were white as she tightened her grip. “ Let me kill you? That’s ******** cute.” A lightbulb went off, however, and instead of letting her anger get the best of her (per usual), she raised a brow and decided on an alternative. “I’d say you don’t have a choice in the matter, but you know what… Maybe you do.” Lowering Lenka so her feet were on the ground, she maintained a tight grip on her collar. “Maybe a baptism by mirror sounds better to you, hm? Your pretty little outfit would look a whole lot better if it was black. And who knows, maybe proper ******** leadership will teach you a thing or two.”

The bravado lasted as long as it took for Leto to begin talking about her fuku changing to black. The fear came back into her eyes and she began struggling harder than she had when Leto was threatening to kill her. Death…she could handle death. She could laugh in the face of it, work hard to beat it…but…but whatever this b***h was talking about.
Mirror baptism? She knew that she didn’t want that. Knew it at the very core of her being. “Like hell. Like hell you’ll ever turn my outfit black. You won’t ever get me on your side, you crazy, ******** witch! I wouldn’t go with you if it was the last choice on earth, damnit. Let me go! Let me just give you the thrashing you deserve.”
Thoughts about Remarque and Acubens flashed through her mind. Panic rose higher as she realized that this would be as bad, if not worse than the glowing markings that some of her own kind got.
So far as she knew, there was no way out of this. It would be an absolute, and she would be absolutely trapped.
“I’d rather die a hundred times than go through whatever ******** ritual that you’re talking about!” Lenka thrashed, trying to shove the woman away, her expression now akin to that of a trapped and frightened rabbit in the presence of a fox.

She didn’t have much time before her ridiculous power signature attracted the wrong kind of people. The fear in Lenka’s eyes was Leto’s driving force, what pushed her decision. Killing Lenka would be a waste. Turning her into one of her own? She could make use of that… And knowing how badly she didn’t want it almost made it more fun. Leto couldn’t help but laugh at Lenka’s empty threats and she loosened the grip on her collar. When she thrashed, she purposefully let go. She let Lenka get in a hit or two before she finally summoned the large, ominous Black Mirror behind her own tiny form. “Aw darlin, I’m so sorry we couldn’t do this on better terms. Really, this isn’t ideal,” she murmured as she inched closer to Lenka, like a predator with its prey. She was ready to pounce. Holding out her right hand, her crystal appeared in her palm. Pushing her energy through her crystal and into the Black Mirror, Leto staggered ever so slightly as she stepped closer to close the distance between the two of them. “But trust me,” she grabbed her with both hands, pulling her so close she could nearly taste her fear. “It’s for the best,” she added. The Princess swung her body with Lenka in tow, releasing her grip as the Eternal Senshi hit the glass surface of the Black Mirror. Like every time before, the glass shattered and absorbed into Lenka’s skin. As Leto knew all too well from her own foray through the Mirror, Lenka would feel her very being as a White Moon Senshi being ripped from her and she would experience a pain that only Chaos could cause. The Dark Mirror Princess dropped to her knees, sinking into the cold hard ground at her feet.

When she was released, Lenka knew she should have fled. There was a moment that she knew she would have had the opening. Fight or flight was strong, but she chose fight. She was no coward. And this b***h was talking about trapping her with no escape.
It was utterly unthinkable. And Lenka couldn’t allow that. She just couldn’t allow this woman to keep…keep existing.
“Better terms?” She managed to gasp, confused by the princess moving closer, confused when suddenly they were turning.
How had she missed that mirror? How had she missed the window of opportunity to run for it?
It felt like a lifetime as she felt the mirror shatter beneath the force of her body. Felt like a lifetime of pure, utter agony as she felt chaos, her greatest enemy sinking into her skin. Her bones. Her very soul. She was going to be tainted. Scarred. A monster.
Lenka felt her pulse racing and she cried out, sounding like a dying creature as the pain, and the utter misery overtook her, and as she came out on the other side of the mirror, her white wings gone black, her white fuku gone black. She knew it was far too late.
And oddly, it almost felt okay.
Sort of.
Sinking to her knees, the once brown eyes showed a light pink in the light and for a moment, it was as though she were stunned, confused. Held captive by a strange docility brought on by the trauma of the corruption.
And a moment later, Lenka struggled to her feet and ran, her sobs fading into the night.
She didn’t know what she could do. But she knew for a fact that she could not stay there. Not where she was.
Not what she was.

The crystal disappeared along with the Black Mirror when Lenka’s transformation into a Dark Mirror Senshi was complete. And with them went Leto’s royal aura as she shifted back down into an Eternal Senshi. She Eternal shifted on the ground, trying to push herself to her feet and get to Lenka. She may have gone against the other girl’s wishes, but she was one of them now and Leto owed it to her to do this right. To get her somewhere safe. Before she could, the newly baptized Senshi was on her feet and running, and Leto was struggling to maintain her balance to chase her. She stumbled, fell to one knee and gasped for breath. <********,” she managed to wheeze for the ???th time. Crawling to the mirror she had originally mirrowalked out of, she slipped through the surface and collapsed to the cold white floor of mirrorspace. Summoning her compact in her hand, she sent a half-assed message to Remarque (something along the lines of “Mirror. Oops.” probably) because she knew she’d have to get him to help her out - There was no way Lenka was going to let Leto come anywhere near her right now and she couldn’t let a fresh Dark Mirror Senshi run around the city in her state. Clamping the compact shut and letting it disappear back into subspace, she closed her eyes and drifted into unconsciousness. Kyuseisha no Hikari For mention of a message to Remarque.
