The weather report called for snow, and a lot of it! Overnight, a foot of snow has covered Destiny City in a beautiful blanket of white, and schools and most businesses are closed! When you venture outside however, the air feels almost temperate, and picking up the snow is a lot like picking up some sun warmed sand at the beach. What might have caused this? Is it global warming playing some sort of trick, or just the imps that seem to linger in the city? The strangely warm snow day lasts for only a day though, by the next day, the air is bitterly cold again, and all of that wonderful snow is somehow gone without a trace!

The weather report had called for snow - a lot. It wasn’t the first big snow since he’d moved here, and it wouldn’t be the last, but for whatever reason he couldn’t sleep so decided to curl up in a couch and watch the snow fall. Boon-nam didn’t stay awake all night, he did need some sleep after all, but he’d also noticed the university had closed, it came across the tv screen an hour before he headed himself to bed, so he’d stayed up a bit later watching the snow fall. It really was lovely to watch, so silent and perfect and white, the window was chill to the touch and watching fat flakes speed towards the ground was worthy of sleep loss.

When he did wake the next morning, later than usual, Boon-nam went to check the news and make sure campus was indeed closed. The streets were also covered in snow, as was the sidewalk, so he was safe to shuffle about the apartment for a while before getting a warm shower and pulling on some comfortable lounge clothing that he could wander downstairs in.

Downstairs was where he went to get the mail, from a small room filled with mail boxes, but since h e had his shoes on Boon-nam took the time to also go to the convenience store a few buildings down in order to grab some juice, since he was out, and a bagel to nibble on. He didn’t feel like making a proper breakfast and figured a bagel would be good enough along with some juice. The two purchases made he headed back to his apartment building.

He did note that it was warm, too warm, for the snow that was on the ground. It didn’t seem to be melting either, there wasn’t much in the way of water puddles, but when he reached out to touch the snow it was warm...but it was snow. How such polar opposites were possible he didn’t know but it seemed to indeed be possible. It wasn’t global warming, as much as some people might say it was, there was no way snow could be warm. It wasn’t a matter of global warming but simple common sense.

Tapping his bottom lip in thought Boon-nam headed back into the building and made his way to the elevator so he could get back up to his apartment. His phone was grabbed from the counter, on his way to the kitchen, and went to let his aunt and uncle know about the odd weather outside. Telling them the snow was high but warm, so he figured it would melt soon and they should let it do that rather than try and shovel it.

His text message sent he set about pouring himself some juice and cutting his bagel, he forgot to ask at the store, and settled in to eat and listen to the news. Someone had to say something about the oddly warm snow, right? He was sure something would be said...and it was. He wasn’t surprised but there was no explanation either, at least not till over an hour later and some female was on the news calling it global warming. Already done with his breakfast by now, and shaking his head, Boon-nam went to find something else to watch on tv. The snow would without a doubt, be gone by tomorrow. He was sure of it.
