With the erratic weather patterns they had been having, Meridiana had opted to remain indoors for the better part of last week. However, her goal of collecting information on senshi and knights who were actively running around the streets of Destiny City was something that couldn’t be ignored overlong. Otherwise, her information becomes outdated and obsolete.
There were five partial profiles saved to the USB but her goal was a minimum of ten before giving it to Zinkenite. More, if possible, but she was getting nervous that the more time spent conversing with the enemy would start to lead her mind even more astray.
Meri touched her lips in memory of the chaste kiss she had shared with Adria. So innocent, and yet she felt safe when he was near despite their opposing aura’s. But there was another with whom she had shared a similar kiss and with it, she held close a precious memory.
Snow fell in hushed whispers all around her, settling peacefully upon the pine tree branches overhead.
It had been nearly a year since Zinkenite saved her life, and in that time she had done very little, by comparison, to show her gratitude or return the favor.
Too much of her tenure as an agent of the Negaverse had been spent playing around in the shadows where nobody cared to look. Her means of gathering energy were questionable as not even those deemed allies were spared. Meridiana’s reputation had taken a hit because of her sphere but she paid the comments no mind and did what she could to survive.
But then, on an evening much like today, where snow covered the whole of Destiny City in an enchanting white blanket, her luck had run out. Ambushed by two knights, her life had nearly been forfeit but then he appeared, an angel haloed in the light of a street lamp.
As a sovereign it was not his responsibility to watch over her, but he did.
It was not his responsibility to train her, but he did.
It was not his responsibility to humor her while whims, but he did.
He could have easily washed his hands of her the moment she woke up, but instead, he sat beside her patiently. So much had been done for her in but a year’s time and yet looking back it felt like she had somehow failed him. Still a basic senshi, she had done nothing to earn a promotion and aside from taking him out to get something not fast food to eat, there was very little she had done in repayment.
If anything, it went without saying that she was completely loyal to Zinkenite and yet her heart seemed to beat to a different rhythm when he was near. But any hope for something more was as forbidden as her curiosity for the White Moon Senshi that had, for the first time, made her consider purification.
In the distance, Meridiana could hear a tinkling sound and thought it had simply been just her imagination taking over because she was feeling lonely but then it grew louder and the urge to find its source grew. She followed it until a small blip of a signature came within range of her aura senshi but she knew that with her medallion active, the little mauvian would be oblivious of her nearness until she was beside her.
“Hello Katya, it’s been a while.” Her voice was both calm and quiet as she stood in front of an archway that seemed more of an entrance to the place where bells were ringing. “So, what do you make of this place?”
