You can meet many people throughout the year. Some you remember fondly and still greet and see to this day. Others… Well, animosity can grow, even when one doesn’t mean it. Perhaps it is the strong scent of pine and cinnamon in the air as you walk down a snowy path, or the twinkling lights above you that glitter and dance in the dim light of sunset, somehow a sense of regret fills your heart. Whether it is the desire to forgive, or the desire to be forgiven, you feel the desire to reach out to someone you haven’t spoken to in a long time. A long overdue talk is needed. But it is up to you to respond to that burden on your heart.
He hadn’t really thought about the people in his past in the last year, he’d tried not to for his own well being, and yet with his somewhat recent return to his own social media accounts Boon-nam couldn’t help it. He’d been thinking about those people - worrying. He’d worried they’d spot him and say something or do something. But nothing had happened...at first.
Nothing happened online, thankfully, but instead he had run into someone from his past. Boon-nam hadn’t had a reason to expect it and yet he’d seen someone from his past and not just once. Clue had been one of his classmates, and a friend, who had joined in on his teasing though if he thought back on it Clue had been mostly innocent. He hadn’t said or done a lot on his own.
Hands tucked into his pockets Boon-nam was heading to the grocery store. It wasn’t as cold out today as it had been the previous day, thankfully, and he needed a few things in his kitchen. As he made his way down the sidewalk he couldn’t help but wonder about Clue. What to do with seeing the other?
Kicking at a patch of snow, as he passed by a shop, the scent of pine invaded his nose. Maybe he should talk to Clue...properly talk to him. It wasn’t something he’d have considered in the past, or even thought of, but Clue was here in Destiny City and there was a lot of feelings there from the past. Maybe it was time to just talk and see what came of it. He was pretty damn sure it couldn’t go wrong, that nothing could get worse than it had been, Clue hadn’t said anything to him which was really mean. He’d thought so, of course he had, but when Boon-nam got to thinking about things with a level head he knew Clue hadn’t attacked him in any way. He had over reacted as if expecting an attack.
The only issue was how to get in touch with Clue? He didn’t have a phone number for the other, he’d long ago erased the others number from his cell phone.
Stepping into the grocery store, grabbing a cart on the way, Boon-nam wondered if there was a way to find the other. The asian community wasn’t the smallest but it was small and if he narrowed it down to the Thai community he should be able to find him and get in touch...but would Clue want to talk to him? A proper talk, over drinks, was something he felt they needed if only so they could both live in the same city and deal with running into each other.
While he went to grab a bag of rice, putting it at the bottom of the cart, Boon-nam took some time to think things over before deciding to socialize with some of the other Thai’s in the grocery store. Deciding to see if anyone knew Clue or how to get in touch with him. Someone had to, it wasn’t the biggest community, and he did find someone - good. Asking them to pass on his phone number to Clue - that they needed to talk. Now he just needed to wait.
