Materialistic: Item Based Avatars
One of my favorite aspects of making a lot of avatars is having a collection of them together. One avatar is pretty, but a group of avatars together feels good. It feels right. And when the set of avatars have commonalities and look like they belong together.... *chef's kiss*
Most of my avatars start from a single pose and are built up from there. This is true for the EI/REI avatars, the MC avatars, and even some of the more conceptual avatars. Using an item or pose to inspire avatars, even multiple avatars is nothing particularly unique to the Lookbook.
Each post in this thread will have one or more sets of avatars based around a single item or item family. What makes these avatars unique is that they are created as groups of avatars centered around a series items, different poses from an item, or identical poses in different recolors. This is very similar to the concept of twinning where two or more users make coordinating avatars, except everything is done solo.
Hopefully the effect is that the avatars in each post can be experienced as a 'set' rather than as a collection of individual avatars.
