The moment the petals rain down upon the guest, the doors come open, and two bright lights, one a bluish white, another an orangish red, float in slowly.

They dance around one another, entranced, as if any other glimmer or soul in the room never existed.

And you feel that.

You feel the love and the warmth and sweetness all wrapped up into one. No matter who you are, what side of the War you find yourself on, in this moment, a pure, kind, and genuine happiness comes over you.

Eventually the light comes to the front of this cathedral, twisting around until two beings come forth from the light.

Draped in beautiful robes and gleaming gems, they come forth, speaking in a language that no one can really understand, not even the other guests.

One thing is for certain though, they are happy. And you can feel that as well. Even the Officiator who allowed you in can be seen smiling and enjoying the playful words between the couple.

And you…

You can’t help but feel moved.

You…

The sound of bells wasn’t new, not tonight, but this time it was different. They sounded more clear and cheerful if that was possible. Liam wasn’t so sure a simple ringing bell could sound cheerful, or sound like any emotion, but it was one way to describe it and for lack of any other rather to describe it he went with it. This was a wedding after all and wedding were always cheerful, right?

He was surprised he’d forgotten about this event, he had been invited a while back, and yet he’d somehow forgotten about it all. How terrible of him, at least no one knew that he’d forgotten and almost hadn’t turned up. The two spirits, fire and ice, were well known as was their love for each other. How they made it work was still a wonder, given how opposite they were, but it had stood the test of time and they deserved this day - finally.

Without even really noticing it, at first anyway, the flower he’d been holding had left his hands and was floating above the crowd along with many others. It seemed not a single flower wasn’t in the air floating and suddenly it’s nothing but a shower of petals as the doors open and the two spirits enter in a whintery light and a summery glow. As the two danced, and moved, towards the altar it was easy to fell just how in love with each other they were. Of course they were in love! They’d been together for how long! They’d been making this work, nurturing it, for a long time. Of course it could be felt by everyone in the room.

When both are finally visible it’s no surprise to see them both so well dressed, it’s their day after all, and while Liam doesn’t understand a word either say at the altar he doesn’t need to. It seems he isn’t alone in his lack of understanding either, he saw a person here or there looking lost and confused.

With no escape from the wedding in sight, it would be rude to just walk out, Liam at some point settled for picking up flower petals to toss into the air. There really wasn’t much to do and he knew no one else where, not to mention he’d never been to a wedding before, he just wasn’t so into it as things continued. Yes, it was a fairytale romance come true and all that but it was still boring at this point and it was too sweet. He was happy for the couple, obviously, but he really needed a way to spend his time and so petal tossing it was.

Before being taken in by Rhona he’d figured a wedding would be a place he’d never attend, not that this was conventional by any means, but as an orphan who knew nobody his odds of every going to one were nill. Now that he was attending one he hoped he didn’t have to attend another one, much as Rhona might not like that idea, he knew it wasn’t really his sort of place...less he could sit in a corner with food and drink perhaps.

Because he was sure that eventually Rhona would get married and there would be some event for him to attend, she wouldn’t allow him to not go, and he would need to find himself a corner.
