The day was already at its peak, the sun hung high up in the sky, the temperature cool but not as biting as it had been lately. Scree Slurry was being lazy and admiring the landscape from where he sat, on a mountainous crag above the pack den. Sometimes he just got it in his mind to get away from all the noise and motion that came with pack life. Other times he came up here to take in the vastness of the world. He knew that he wasn't the only one who found their way up here, surely others came up assess the pack lands. From up here, there was very little you couldn't see. So it wasn't a surprise when a voice called to him from behind, for Scree had seen his half-sister climbing the path up to his perch.

"Scrrrrrreeeee, what are you looking at little brother?"

He didn't bother glancing over his shoulder at her, for she had already approached. She sat next to him, looking out over the pack lands too.

"Mmmm just thinking..."

Thinking? About what? Flurry wanted to ask, but she held her silence. She wasn't exactly sure what to make of her younger half-sibling. Sure she'd spent time with him, but no more than any other of the pack wolves...and every time she did she seemed out of her element. It was like he was thinking on a different level than her. He was considering the future and she was focused on the present. Deciding to keep it light, Flurry fell back to the safe route, "Thinking? You? Are you sure you aren't up here to escape from your pack duties?" She teased.

"Perhaps it's time to get back to work? I saw an invader yesterday and could really use your help getting rid of it...for the pack of course." Invader, sure. She had actually spotted the waddling creature yesterday and thought it may be a fun new experience. She of course, knew what a beaver was. But she figured that Scree didn't. Time to show him.
